the subject matter for january
this month will be dedicated to a thorough research of america. as a non-american, it would be impossible to deny the special attention and global involvement the nation possesses. hopefully, from there i can regress back into the history of england/scotland, royal families, religious wars, and the beginning formations of empires. can you tell i’m getting a bit ahead of myself already?
that being said, there’s much of american history i felt foolish for not previously being aware of. the tribal people inhabiting the “new world” were numerous and a majority prosperous. did you know christopher columbus swore even on his death bed that he had reached outer islands of the indies and not a new land mass altogether?
readings for the month will be anything and everything i can wrap my hands around; there is an abundance of online sources that come at no cost. i’ve already found a few textbooks on history, government, and economics as well as memoirs from generals, i’m more than positive that my library will fill in other gaps.
a tldr for any soul who bears capacity to care, i’ll be studying american history with emphasis on origins, native peoples, influential individuals, economics, and politics. i’m unsure of how much modern information i can squeeze in as it seems like something shocking happens over yonder every few days or so.

an introduction
hello to any aspiring or actualised historians on this god blessed evening here on tumblr dot com. my new years resolution was to broaden my horizons by an intense and frankly chaotic degree; i will be diving head first into all things history so that i may possess the biggest brain known to man.
thus far i’ve decided that every month will be devoted to a different historical topic, january being american history, february could be english history, it also could be quite literally anything else, so on and so forth. i’m waiting to see how the wind blows me.
another ambition that may or may not be actualised is the creation of content on youtube. i’m not sure if the world truly needs another young man geeking out making historical video essays, i’m not sure if anything i say would be worthwhile yet.
if you’re interested in lending a hand in correction, criticism, advice, or anything else i welcome you with open arms. i’m aware that the history side of tumblr is larger than i initially thought and i’m eager to be apart of it if you’ll have me.
