I just saw the "not what im called!" Lilly variant meme and realized THE REASON JAY NEVER INTRODUCED HIMSELF TO PURPLE CREATURES (geckles?? listening to the magnus archives for the first time right after monstrosity released is an... interesting combination. listening to ep 32 'hive', then going on tumblr and seeing bug Kai fanart...if i wasn't sick, then i'd be writing the most insane shit right now

mostly made bc when i first was gonna add in the fact that kai wanted a tattoo, i didn't really know what he'd get, so i doodled to figure out what he'd look like with one. then!! these are two drawings i made that i used for reference for jay!! :3

looking at these two side by side is how i came up with the whole "kai doesn't see his friend in jay at all" thhing. it was fun because i made the second drawing much later than the first, so when i was like "hmm how do i describe the difference between how jay looks vs how kai remembers him..." i found that other drawing and kinda just stared in shock because. wow jay actually, genuinely, looks happy in that first one😭 anywayyy yeah :3

kinda thinking about the implications about garmadon gaining 2 arms in the realm of madness. i could be wrong but i don't think it was ever explained/fully addressed in s1, but with the extra context of the merged lands + oni and dragon stuff, it kinda makes more sense.. because its not really like its just a Thing that if you spend a long enough time in the realm of madness, you gain 2 arms. since there's the administration and whatnot, and not all the workers there are rocking 4 arms. so we can kinda assume that garmadon went there, not because it was a guaranteed extra 2 arms, but to benefit from the general environment that fosters insanity . . which then implies that garmadon just. fully went insane in the realm of madness, and that chaos was the only thing that made him unlock more of his oni form.

augh. something about even after spending years in the underworld, dwelling and consumed by the great devourer's venom, garmadon still didn't have enough anger and rage inside of him to unlock a greater power, and he literally had to try and break his own mind even further to make it possible. aughejrhjn m

aughhh awhile ago i made a ghost zane x ghost cole au and i wrote probably the Worst Fic Ever because i still had 0 idea how to write something cohesive . and now i'm thinking about them again and i'm trying SO HARD not to just drop everything and rewrite the fic but actually make it good this time and HRMGM.
