Noose Found On University of Tulsa campus. The University Police try and cover it up.

So I am at the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma for my job training and on Wednesday June 10th a noose was found near the dormitory of where majority of the African-American residents are staying. The noose was found hanging from a tree around 8:00 PM at night.

I know the photo is a bit blurry but you can clearly see the noose knot a recognize that that rope is a noose. 

This noose is a blatant terroristic threat to the lives of African Americans on campus. People on campus were being pressured to be silent about this until they “fully investigate” the situation. Me being an African American male, I literally needed information on what was happening because that noose was a direct threat to me. It took the University of Tulsa and the Institute management team 38 hours to finally release a statement and communicate to us what was actually going on.

But before I go on I need to educate you a bit about how Oklahoma really feels about race. So the state of Oklahoma is responsible for so many racist actions in this state. Just recently a police officer was charged with manslaughter for the killing of Eric Courtney, in Oklahoma.  (http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/04/13/oklahoma-shooting-video/25702233/)

This is also the city that BOMBED Black Wallstreet in 1921 and the city of Tulsa has yet to confirm that this travesty has EVEN occurred. (http://www.blackwallstreet.freeservers.com/)

Not to mention this atrocity

So this state and city has racial disparities engrained in their society since day ONE. So it is no surprise that a noose was hanging in a tree near the dorms where the African-American teachers lay their head. So after 38 hours the institute management team and TUPD release a statement; however there statement was literally a blatant cover up:

Did you notice the blatant disregard of them identifying it as a noose. I am pretty sure a noose is extremely recognizable to ANYONE.

So finally the ITM (Institute Management Team) and the TUPD finally hold a meeting/forum to reveal what happened. Here is how fucked up this about to get. Brace yourself. For one the cop that came on the scene was not at the meeting but just a random cop on duty who couldn’t answer any questions. And when asked why the cop who wrote the police report for the noose was not there they simply shrugged and said “she’s off duty today.” They told us that it was a rope in a tree that’s been there for years and it wasn’t a noose. If you recall in their statement above they said the rope was “weathered and torn” this is the rope they presented to us.

That is a motherfucking jump rope they bought from target. And they cut it and attempted to make it look “weathered and torn”. Also remember how I said the noose was found at 8 PM on Wednesday night. The TUPD reported that they found it at 4:30 PM on Thursday. Lets keep in mind that the police showed up to the scene the night it happened.  Lets put these photos side by side and critically analyze them.

I recently read about how Social Media takes away from reality allowing everyone to live a life that portrays only what they choose to portray. The ability to filter your life to everyone is a gift and a curse and can easily become an addiction. You shouldn't have to work hard to uphold an image because if it is you, it will come naturally. Only few people that walk this earth look good at all times. And still.. That depends on who's looking at them. Don't get caught up trying to look like a Kardashian at all times. Cause a decorated shell that's empty will never be better than a natural shell that's full of life.

I like to think that I can be anything that someone needs me to be but sometimes other people is just what they need. I'm slowly learning that this doesn't necessarily mean inadequacy. There's room for multiple people in your life for a reason. Just make sure everyone knows their role. The last thing anyone needs is one of the extras trying to play the the part of the main character...
