Last week we were excited to add more functionality to Euan's Guide - this time in the form of video reviews and the addition of our Easy Access Menu.
Wac Arts Interactive has teamed up with Euan’s Guide – an online guide that features disabled access reviews from disabled people and their friends and family. Young people from the Interactive group used the inclusive technology skills they have been learning over the past 6 months to develop the guide’s first video reviews of venues in London and York. Having had great feedback from the site’s users, the Interactive group and Euan’s Guide plan to develop the video reviewing function and motivate people across the UK to contribute their video reviews to this fantastic guide.Wac

Young people are paramount in determining the direction of Wac Arts Interactive and in addition to on site term time, the project embarks on a range of outreach and holiday workshops, focusing on cutting edge assistive and inclusive technology. On our recent trip to York in October 14, students were be empowered to become peer mentors and trainers, sharing and transferring the knowledge they have acquired wit young people with disabilities and staff at organisations in  York. The Interactive group teamed up with The Children's Society, York and Future Links Girls' group to take part in steering group meetings and deliver drama and film workshops exploring disability and it's impact on Fun & Friendship. By hosting these creative workshops and training sessions, Interactive aims to empowering these organisations to further utilize  inclusive technology and roll out their own training programmes nationwide. It also provided a fantastic opportunity to meet other inspiring young people, and of course....have fun! Watch the video to find out more about what the Interactive group got up to in York...

Wac Arts Interactive (WAI) offers young people (12-18 years) with learning disabilities an opportunity to explore their creativity and enhance their communication and independence skills, whilst providing opportunities to form friendships and have fun. Our multi-media program is a completely inclusive project, facilitating the best possible experience for all young people involved. Wac Arts Interactive is an ideal platform for young people looking for direction to follow their passion and develop their creative media ideas. We enable the young people involved to stay at the forefront of the ever-changing world of technological innovation, preparing them for work and further education choices as young adults and challenging current perceptions of young people with disabilities.
Young people are paramount in determining the direction of the project and in addition to on site term time, outreach and holiday workshops focusing on cutting edge assistive and inclusive technology, students will be empowered to become peer mentors and trainers, sharing and transferring the knowledge they acquire to young people and staff at organisations nationwide via online networking and external visits. Wac Arts has established links with many charities and youth clubs around Great Britain and have trips planned to Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales to host creative workshops and training sessions, empowering these organisations to roll out their own training programmes.
