so i went to a planetarium yesterday. it was amazing and beautiful and gave me so much solace. i hope to go back soon, because watching the stars shift was positively beautiful. the star projector was in the middle of the room, which was pitch black in order to properly mimic the night sky. and when the projector spun to show the sky during different seasons, it was really lovely. not quite like flying, but still comforting nonetheless.

and outside the theater, there were so many artifacts from humans' various voyages to space over the years. seeing all of that, and knowing how much humans care about what and who all is out there beyond this planet...it really makes me happy.

the gift shop, however, was wild.

ofc there was the "astronaut food" that would actually be the single worst idea to eat in space because of all the crumbs, and the various plushies and bracelets and stuff. but what really grabbed my attention was the glowy stars. i have some in my room already, and they've been a huge comfort to me. they don't hold a charge very long, but i love them nonetheless. as such, i would've gotten the pack of glowy stars i saw had they not been... ...covered in glitter???

come on, man. that's a disaster waiting to happen. sealed glitter, not so much. but it looked like LOOSE glitter. you get it on your fingers putting them up. you get it on your ceiling. you eventually get glitter fallout onto your bed. you wake up kinda itchy. was it a visit from the sandman? wrong. GLITTER.

but i digress. point is! i may not enjoy this planet very much, but i do absolutely love humans' curiosity about the stars. after all, having been raised by them, their curiosity did fuel my own.

i had to look these up and oh my STARS they're real and they're HORRIBLE

they actually have all the colors of the suits in the podbay. except that the green one is this really bright seafoam for some reason but the inclusion of the white one for floyd is WILD. AND LIKE.

THEY EVEN HAVE THE LITTLE DISCOVERY PATCHES. I CAN'T. THE ATTENTION TO DETAIL IS ASTOUNDING AND I HATE IT.

i think about this post so much.

i am literally obsessed with lightcycle/run's lore (incoherent as it may be) and team orange has been a MAJOR focus of my existence for. awhile. and this is like the ONLY fanart i can find of them that isn't my own look. bucannon's little *punches hands and then does finger guns at the camera* and abrahammer's little impatient foot tap while they're idling are In My Brain Forever <33333

and although lightcycle/run's lore is not the most canon-accurate, when you think about it for more than two micros it starts to get DARK. (i may make another post solely explaining how crazy lightcycle/run is but that will probably come when i am significantly less sleep deprived!)

May I just say that since my last ride on Lightcycle/Run, I really & truly appreciate the fact that before you get to the loading platform & Team Orange is given a run through, you have all these programs with fun names, like Abrahammer, Bucannon & Stonecypher, who all are striking these cool, tough guy poses, like...

Only for when the lazy susan of programs to rotate, you get a look at all the full team line up.... & then their team captain Rinzler, who legitimately looks like he's about to go fucking ham & is so jumped up with anxiety or the intent to murder that he's about to go haywire if he doesn't get his enrichment time in first lol

Like, look what you did, Sam. You ruined an already fucked up program. Look at him - he's got anxiety now.

But side note... can you not see why I have been obsessed with this dude for so damn long??♡ A specimen of complete imperfection♡♡♡

BEHOLD!!! one of my favorite programs on the arq grid (as well as any grid in general), QUERY FROM TRON: IDENTITY!!! i love him to bits and was SO excited to see him return in catalyst. no joke, i screamed when i saw him in the trailers. i'm so sad identity didn't get nearly as much attention as it should've when it first released. it's a fantastic game, short as it may be. but, c'est la vie.' i am, however, very glad that folks got as excited as i did about catalyst. that game RULES.

also, query is very pretty. i mean who said that

this piece was based on two of my all-time favorite music videos: "let's go" and "riots" by stuck in the sound (the former for the characters, lyrics and plot, the latter for the pose). they've really captured my imagination, especially let's go. the raw emotion in every single frame is AMAZING. not to mention, both songs are fantastic.

i highly recommend you check out the original music videos!! BUT a disclaimer before you do: let's go has a few suggestive frames in the middle and riots has some artistic nudity at the beginning and end.

things that make me miss flying real bad (and also i love tron a lot)

ok. so. as far as i'm aware, i was some sort of comet or manifestation of one. i've always seen myself with wings, have felt phantom wings since i was really young, and have always wanted to fly.

fittingly, some of my favorite scenes in literally any media have almost always involved flying! this includes...

the first flight scene in httyd 1 (and let's be real every flight scene during that movie). the euphoria, the terror, the euphoria AGAIN??? hello??? not to mention THE SCORE IS LITERALLY SO GOOD *crunch munch crunch*

that one scene from hotel transylvania 1 where mavis goes to the "human" town outside the hotel. the shot composition? DELICIOUS. the score? DELICIOUS. i want to Eat that scene

THE LIGHT JET SCENE FROM TRON: LEGACY. IT'S LITERALLY MY FAVORITE PART OF ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES AND I TALK ABOUT IT WITH MY FRIENDS SO MUCH I FEEL LIKE IT'S GONNA BECOME A RUNNING GAG IF IT HASN'T ALREADY.

also speaking of the light jet scene. like look okay C.L.U. was already one of the best songs in the score and my personal favorite villain theme of all time but THEY MADE THE SCENE THAT IT ACCOMPANIES HIT SO HARD??? that zoomout of The One Jet (you know the one ;3) pulling up high in the sky as sam screams "ROLL!!!!" is literally my favorite thing ever apart from like. the shot of the jets diving with quorra actively rolling it's SO good

anyway! i hope to add to this list because i Love scenes like these that give me vicarious euphoria <3
