Struggling law student who dabbles in fic writing (mostly K-pop rps). I started out as a YeHyuk writer on AO3; now I also write GolCha panbell and bongbaest. Strong Drippin enthusiast, especially for HyeopSeo.

Resurrection of acct?
What with what seems to be twt’s impending doom, it might be a good time to reboot (??) this account. But looking at past posts is fun so I’ll keep them as they were.
Hopefully I’ll figure out my way around here soon... been ages since I used tumblr and I feel like a stranger again. Gotta update profile photo and header, too, for starters...

I watched Hot Stove League over three days and was really impressed by the storytelling. For once, here’s a solid K-drama that valued the core of storytelling over the cliche love lines--so there’s a lot of room for fic writers to work with.
I think viewers probably enjoyed shipping Se-young with the general manager or Jae-hee, but I actually really liked his dynamic with the primary foil of the series, Director/President Kwon. They were both so brilliant at what they did, but their methods and attitudes were completely at odds with one another.
Also, I loved ace pitcher Doo-ki and hitter Dong-gyu’s relationship. I really loved how little by little their pasts came to light, and how the pieces all started connecting with each new episode. The fact that Dong-gyu started out with a sense of rivalry which turned into grudging respect, and the resentment he later harbored when Doo-ki stepped out of his room after seeing him with that needle in his hand... who would’ve thought it would mark the start of the apparently one-sided enmity between them? The way Dong-gyu was livid after finding out Doo-ki would be transferred just when they finally had a chance to play together again in the Dreams and have a chance at the championship, the way Doo-ki, despite his stoic temperament, actually looked interested in the little welcome dance that the other players did for Dong-gyu, that infinitely sad look when he said perhaps they weren’t fated to play as a team, and the scene that really made me root for them--Doo-ki’s nonchalant invite for a barbecue dinner while he kept glancing specifically in Dong-gyu’s direction, hoping he would join.
Honestly, there were way too many good things about this show. I’m surprised not more people are talking about it.
