The end of it all
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In conclusion, Cancel culture has been proven to be unrealistic, cyberbullying, and causes damage to our mental health. However, there's still a positive that might be exposing and individuals bad intentions. Why expose someone's mistakes if you won't even give them the chance to grow and learn from them. Cancel Culture should be cancelled and we need to accept the fact everyone is different and won't follow the status quo.

The Blind Side
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even though cancel culture is extremely toxic, mentally draining ,and kind of cult like, people see the good through it. They say cancel culture exposed people's bad intentions and true colors. For example, many wanted to governor of Alabama to resign because she wore blackface in a college skit 52 years ago. Am I saying black face should be accepted , NO. Although she is human and deserves to be forgiven. If we were to cancel her we would have to cancel Robert Downey Jr, but people had no problem with him when it came to watching Endgame. We need to realize we live in much more sensitive times which is ironic because we as a society are more accepting than we were back them but less forgiving. Yes, calling out bad behavior is important, but we can't pick and choose who we can call out and who we can't. Cancel Culture isn't effective in the long run if the person won't be able to show their face without being reminded every 5 seconds of what they have done.

Accepted Form of Cyber Bullying
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In all seriousness cyberbullying has been the new way for people to make fun of others. Bullying behind a screen gives someone else more courage but can lead the person being bullied to self-harm, leading up to even suicide. Now when it's cancel culture it's not just one person, it's worldwide. People you don't even know think they have the right to speak about you. Cancel culture is about shame. These groups of people attacking an individual are shaming them. All it take's is a couple minutes and you can have thousands against you all because you don't mentally process things or perceive things the way they do. For that one person, it can feel like they're being attacked by the entire world. Every time someone is cancelled it's funny or entertaining to a certain group of individuals. If you try to make a come back people will say " weren't you cancelled"? There have been cases of people committing suicide because they were cancelled. The same ones that cancel them are the same one's that wonder why they did it.

Cancel Culture Is Unrealistic.....
Tumblr media Tumblr media
People have been cancelled for what they said when they were less than 10 years old. Society doesn't care because you must pay for your mistakes! Who cares if your mind wasn't fully developed, sounds like a you problem. A data analyst tweeted that peaceful protest is more effective than violent protest and he was fired for his "racist research". Studies have also shown that school isn't for everyone, so cancel school for being racist since were just cancelling everyone. Cancel culture doesn't let people have their own values and beliefs. We are being trained to think and act alike when in reality that cause nothing but chaos. If we were meant to be alike we would all have the same skin color, same hair type, same height, same weight, and would've all grew up in the same neighborhood. Cancelling doesn't occur every few months or years, it's literally every couple of days. So be careful if you wear pink on a Thursday, you might be cancelled....

MENTAL HEALTH As a society we have always made sure to call people out on there mistakes but cancel culture takes it to the next level. It's a form of "mob justice". It's proven to be " psychologically intoxicating to feel part of a group and to feel a part of something larger than yourself". People that do the cancelling feel a sense of power. They like the feeling of control over someone else's life. Though, the person on the other side of the screen can feel cornered, attacked, and obviously pointed out. This "movement" makes people realize their own mistakes but then bash them to the point where they can't learn from it . This can take people to a dark place of no return.

Cancel, Cancel Culture!
Cancel culture has led others to feel like they have a say in our life's and personal beliefs. Cancel Culture is negative to mental health, it's an accepted for of cyber bullying, and if were being honest it's unrealistic.
