Here’s the gold medal-winning, Olympic-record breaking javelin throw by Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan. It is the first medal won in 32 years and first ever gold won at the Olympics for Pakistan.
A few facts:
He broke the Olympic record twice this round, with another throw of 91+m.
3/4 too throws this round were by him.
He is self taught, so notice how his footwork and overall stance isn’t top-tier when compared to other javelin throwers. All he has is brute-strength, which is exactly what he needed to succeed.
He used the same javelin spear for 8 years until it broke last March, when he went to the media begging for help, leading to the government importing one just for him.
He qualified for an athletics competition final for track and field for the first time in Pakistan’s history in Tokyo 2020, where he placed fifth. He is the first-ever Pakistani athlete to be on the Olympics track-and-field podium.
Pakistan has almost zero sports infrastructure, where even cricket suffers due to a lack of adequate leaders, coaches, and support. Almost every other sport? Virtually nothing.
He has truly cemented himself as a national treasure, and inshallah will continue to succeed in the future🇵🇰💚

do y'all remember a few months back how hard israel was pushing propaganda trying to pit black people against the pro-palestine movement by invoking black-jewish solidarity and it didn't work? anyone else find it really interesting how now that kamala is the democratic nominee, we got black people calling the cops on palestinians? is this maybe a time to consider if we're falling for the same old propaganda?
Logged on to Twitter to discover a palestinian woman was reported to the fbi by liberals by saying kamalas not ready for Chicago, a city with a huge palestinian population. It just made me think of post 9/11 of Muslims and arabs being reported on by their neighbors and coworkers that is scary and awful

Hey guys. I have some horrifying news about one of the fundraisers. This listing belongs to a family that wants to remain anonymous but keeps contact with me and the organizer. I don't know how to say this, but one of the two beautiful daughters has been martyred as a result of an air strike. The neighbour's building collapsed on them from the impact. The situation is absolutely harrowing and they need your help. I just received news of this 5 hours ago as of drafting this post. Please do not hesitate to help them.

I legitimately despise all of the people who were vocally speaking out about biden to only full throatedly support Kamala because all that hard earned pushback and solidarity is just slowly receeding to the point where kamala is certain she can make empty promises and be rewarded for them AND publicly show disgust to Palestinian protestors while having people defend her as if she's not the privileged politician that we've been saying she is. The reason she feels so comfortable about yelling at arab and Palestinian protestors is because you guys just outwardly supported her without any pushback. I can't believe that all these months worth of education and watching children being burned alive and you're jumping at the chance to promote the person who knows how to speak nicely without actually doing anything.
If you had shown some amount of pushback these past couple weeks, she would never have dared to pull these stunts. If you had made it an actual hardline issue, she would have known that she can't be wishy washy about these things. But of course you'd rather protect yourself than millions of people at the mercy of your policies without so much as a say in anything.
#i'm really glad the pro-palestine movement has been gaining so much momentum and large scale support#but it is INFURIATING that the majority of americans joining the cause are so spineless and unprincipled about it

since some white bitches on here have decided they'd much rather give money to this shitty excuse of a website than people who are trying to escape death and genocide like the daft cunts they are can the rest of you please promote siraj's (@siiraj2024) campaign? he's managed to reach his short term goal of $20,000 CAD in time but he has a long term goal set for $82,000 CAD to rebuild his home for him and his family
siraj is a journalist who has been hard at work documenting what daily life is like in gaza on his blog. idk how people on here can look at literal videos of bombs being dropped and claim that people like him are actually bots trying to scam you out of your money but whatever. he and every other palestinian have gone through things that no human being should ever have to and yet he's still found the time and effort to record things for the world to see and reach out to people like me get his story heard and spread.
please donate if you can and share his link! he may have succeeded in getting to $20K by the end of this week like he hoped he would but that doesn't mean the momentum should slow down! he still has $62K left to go!

Engels wrote a lot about how the institution of monogamy is a creation of class society intended to protect the institution of private property. Up until recently it was impossible to objectively determine who the father of a given child is if free love is the norm, so in a patriarchal society monogamy becomes a necessity for determining which children will inherit their father's property. This also requires the creation and maintenance of explicitly defined, immutable genders based on a notion of sex which must also be rigidly defined by class society. Both assigned sex and monogamy are necessary institutions for upholding all class society. Thus, as Communists we can only draw 1 conclusion: it is critical that every good Communist is also a polyamorous trans girl; by becoming a "good girl" held in common one may also become a "good Communist!" Mass force-feminization must therefore become our programme.

part of what those scenes ask is, why do americans do that? why are they so obsessed with asking "is xyz ethnic group white"? on the one hand, it is to take the american map, circle in an area with an american pen, and to classify its inhabitants according to american schematics, making the area and its inhabitants legible to the american apparatus of exploitation. on the other, more personally, it is to ask if one needs to take the others claims to oppression seriously or if one can simply in american fashion talk over the other person and discard everything they say, referring to the turks and kurds and armenians etc etc you're talking to as european so your audience will imagine France. and these two of course go hand in hand, where there is no institutional need to take seriously charges of genocide, there is no interpersonal one either. it's no coincidence that what prompts the question in the book is the body of an american nuke's victim

but i take a pretty dim view of the modern conception of citizenship in the first place. anybody should be able to participate politically in the life of the polity they live in and work in and pay taxes in; we tolerate some 200-odd apartheid regimes worldwide because most of them are comparatively soft--it is at least possible under law to be naturalized in the United States, or Mexico, or Canada, or Sweden, and so forth, and many countries also observe various jus soli rules that mean children can become citizens of the place they were born. (the absolute jus soli of the United States is rare, and should be treasured.)
in only a few places like qatar are those regimes not only harder, but taken to an absurd extreme: you can have a country so dependent on "foreigners" that 88% of the country is "foreign"--that it would instantly collapse if everybody there went back to their "home" country!--but which still denies the people its entire economy, its basic infrastructure, is dependent on the right of political participation. there are sections of the economy of some large states dependent on migrant labor (agriculture in many parts of the US is one example), but if every "foreigner" left Qatar or Kuwait or the UAE, it would be a catastrophe on par with the country being nuked. plagues don't kill nine in ten inhabitants of a country, outside science fiction scenarios. this is not citizenship on the modern model; it's not even citizenship on the ancient model, outside of, like, Sparta.
#always reblogging posts that shit on khaleeji immigration systems#especially the slave state that is the UAE#also hard hard HARRRDDDD agree with every word
