Vintage Menswear Summer
I've noticed a lack of options when it comes to summer menswear for the 1930s-40s, and I have a bunch of new characters coming up, so something had to be done. It kind of went out of hand I ended up making this huge set of recolours. Some of the items work for anywhere from the 1920s to the 1950s, maybe even later, so it can be useful for other generations, too. The tops and bottoms don't always work with each other, but I made sure there's always at least one for each that does.
all items are bgc and have the same 43 swatches
20 colours from the groovy palette by @myshuuno + pure white and black
21 patterns by @miikocc and @mothz
huge thanks to @surely-sims and @simadelics for helping me, while my own game was struggling!

Hello, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that 18th century waistcoat! It is absolutely perfect, from the cut to the color combinations and choice of patterns. Thank you very much for the work you've put into it and naturally, I wanted to ask whether it would be possible to commission you for a full outfit?
Thanks! I’m glad you like it. 😊
Sorry, I don’t take commissions. I’m fortunate enough to not need to make my hobby into work. Besides, I doubt anyone would want to wait one or more years for another project!

18th Century Waistcoat
So one of my favorite webtoons, Heir's Game, ended in December and I was so devastated. I didn't want it to end! I decided to make some of the clothes the protagonist wears in the webcomic to assuage my grief. It's set in a sort of fantasy world with 18th and early 19th century costumes that are quite close to historically accurate. I also thought it was a shame there were none of these gorgeous full-skirted waistcoats in the Sims (at least, not at the time I started making this nine months ago... has anyone else made one yet?) However, it's not totally historically accurate as it's also kind of fanart.
But this would probably work for mid-18th century. I recreated a lot of the looks seen in the webtoon and also made some plain swatches for less dapper gentlemen.
Download: SFS (with PSD) | Dropbox
This is a fullbody outfit for teen/adult/elder without included shoes or stockings. (My shoes are located here). More information and closeups below the cut.
There's a lot of embroidery on these waistcoats. The one above I hand drew to mimic one that appears frequently in the comic, but all of the others I borrowed from existing Sims clothing, mostly Indian wedding clothes. Those 18th century Europeans certainly loved taking stuff from India... I had some ideas for drawing some elaborate designs on these, but then I remembered that I'm not really that good at drawing textures. There are a lot of 18th century creators in the sims community who are, so I hope that some of you might recolor this one.
The back of real life waistcoats of this type were usually linen or cotton, sometimes not even dyed, as it was intended to be hidden beneath the coat out in public. However, it does look prettier all in the same fabric type, doesn't it?
The weights on this mesh were tricky, which is part of the reason I waited close to nine months after starting it to finish it. I think it looks pretty good for the normal sims activities, but I found when posing in CAS that the waist area looks strange with a lot of CC poses. I don't think I can fix that without messing up the other weights, so I'll just be leaving it as it is.
Also, please read Heir's Game! It's really good, and you can read it for free on webtoon. Lots of political intrigue, sword duels, violence and it's also very gay.

In your 1917 girl’s dress post, WCIF the long hair on the girl to the right?
Sure! That's a child conversion of the Minako hair by @miikocc.
I think the converter's blog has been deleted, but it looks like the file is still available here: https://maxismatchccworld.tumblr.com/post/638281975735762944/an0nymousghost-miikoccs-minako-hair-a2c

Hi, do you take TS4 CC requests or commissions? Seeing that you do historical stuff, I'm looking for someone interested in making a formal uniform, like a frankemesh of the Strangerville officers uniform with the standing collar of the school uniform from Snowy Escape. The idea is to make a formal uniform, allowing military sims attend a formal event (like a ball) in uniform.
Sorry, I don't take requests or commissions of any kind. I also haven't completed any new meshes since 2021 (I did start one this past December, but it's kind of on hold...)
But there is an easy solution to your issue--there are military uniforms already out there with stand collars--here is one by @melonsloth: https://melonsloth.tumblr.com/post/627255844550197249/military-uniforms-without-sashes-hello-everyone. I think there are some others out there as well, by melonsloth and by other creators.

do you take requests?
No, sorry. I don't have time to make many things anyway. I've only made one thing in the past year, and it isn't for lack of inspiration. XD

Some screenshots of one of my original stories. I don't do these too much since I'm not good at making male sims. Might post some more from this story if I make any.
I didn't actually use the new shoes I made, though. 😅

I am screaming crying sobbing etc at your 1910s uniform dress meshes. This means I can make a nearly-accurate Adelaide Stratton (from Houdini and Doyle) sim! Thank you so much!
Ah, thank you! I'm glad that people can find so many uses for the things I make. 😊

Hello! Sorry if I'm bothering you, but I was wondering WCIF the shirt in your saddle shoes preview?
No, I'm WCIF friendly, so you're not bothering me at all!
The blouse is the Faith Shirt from adrianpastel and you can get it here.

Saddle Shoes Add-ons in Vintage Neutrals
I wanted some recolors of the saddle shoes for some reference screenshots I was taking in the game and couldn't find any. I'm kind of surprised no one had recolored this base game mesh this way (that I could find).
These are just extra swatches of the base game saddle shoes in all ten shades of my Vintage Neutrals Palette. Nothing fancy beyond that, except that I cleaned up the texture a little. It still doesn't look... great, just better I suppose.
These shoes are for both male and female sims, just like the original items. I was using them for 1940s styling, but they should go earlier and later as well.
Download: SFS
Sorry for the low preview quality. I've been using GIMP for my limited purposes lately rather than photoshop.

I am so appreciative of all the different 1910s content you've dropped! I've been frustrated trying to find women's athletic wear for the time and lot of the lookbooks/CC out there include a type of pant, which doesn't seem to be the most common kind of outfit based on the Googling I've done. I saw the most fun reference photo of a woman in a "divided riding skirt" with buttons like you've got on your WWI military dress and I was wondering if you might ever consider releasing the top and bottom separated. Your outfits really help make the 1910s so much more fun!
Yes, I think I have seen something like that worn by female motorcycle dispatch riders. I tried to separate some of the other uniform tunics and had trouble with clipping and wider bottoms, so I don’t know if separating it would be effective for what you’re looking for.
If anyone wants to give it a try though, my TOU allow it. 🙂

I absolutely love your content! I was wondering if we would be getting a WW1 American uniform as well?
I haven’t been making much CC lately, though I am still playing the game every so often… I probably won’t make one anytime soon, though it is something I have considered working on.
I’ve only turned on the sims a few times this year, though… I’m busy with other hobbies right now. I’ll come back to the sims someday. ☺️

So cute!
1920s Sailor Dress - BGC
On my survey, a lot of people said that 1920s CC would be useful for their game. I was mainly inspired by the cover of Gangsters at the Grand Atlantic from American Girl's History Mysteries.
This outfit is a frankenmesh of @waxesnostalgic's 1917 Girl's Dress and @twentiethcenturysims' Bernice Dress, with a little Outdoor Retreat. Comes in @thesimsblues Salt of the Earth palette in solids and plaids.
