Warrior Cats Rewritten!
5 posts
Mod: Scottie, they/them, 18+WCTake2 is a rewrite of our beloved original series Warrior Cats by Erin H. as if it were to be produced as a modern cartoon today. All ideas and works presented are to be viewed as Fanfiction, and all designs are our own.

YES it is coherent dw! I love the questions and feedback :) happily clapping my little hands!! Tigerclaw is such a fun antagonist to me especially since the weight of his actions impact the way the clan views his family members. In fact, Sandpaw is Tigerclaw’s daughter in my rewrite!!
Because my rewrite will be paced more like a “show” and less like a book series, the main cast will be apprentices for much longer, so I wanted to keep the plot of Tawnypaw unable to take the discrimination anymore and leaving to join her father in Shadowclan, but place it onto Sandpaw instead.
Clairvoyants can also be any role, yes! Being a Clairvoyant and a healer isn’t mutually exclusive, and there can be multiple healers in a clan, so even if a healer was Clairvoyant the others could cover for them (Like if they had to visit the moonstone or were in the midst of having a vision). Spottedleaf is both, and was a healer before she was gifted (the previous one having been Goosefeather, who was just a warrior/elder in this).
If a cat finds their responsibility to Starclan or the frequency of visions too much to juggle in tandem with their job, they are more than free to retire and spend their free time up-keeping the Moonstone or aiding other Clairvoyants in interpreting their visions.
love the art for this!! what concepts are you the most excited to explore?
Thank you sm! :)
I’m excited to explore the concepts of loyalty to blood vs loyalty to allegiance, and how unfairly treating someone like a villain may push towards that path. Sandpaw’s rewrite in particular tackles both of these and I’m stoked about her arc !!
Another concept I’m rotating around in my brain rn are Clairvoyants— I wanted to separate spirituality from healing as well as set up Starclan to be giving cats gifts from the very beginning so the powers introduced in the Power of Three would feel like an organic part of clan life.
To elaborate more on Clairvoyants: they are a cat chosen by Starclan to receive visions/have the gift of foresight. Only one cat at a time in a clan may have this gift, and after their passing it will be passed to another cat regardless of their age, rank, or ability. This isn’t to say that no-one else can read omens or receive dreams, it’s just that Clairvoyants are meant to exist as a reliable bridge between Starclan and the living. I chose to represent this visually with a “star” shaped eye shine in a cat’s design.

First six designs! Tried to keep it simple with very limited color schemes. My biggest concern was keeping each of their silhouettes unique! From left-right, top-bottom, Graypaw, Ravenpaw, Firepaw, Bluestar, Sandpaw, Tigerclaw.
Graypaw is a blue Tom with moderate white spotting and yellow eyes.
Ravenpaw is a black Tom with low white spotting and brown eyes.
Firepaw is a red tabby Tom with high white spotting and green eyes.
Bluestar is a blue she-cat with white spotting, blue eyes, and a muzzle silver with age.
Sandpaw is a cryptic torbie she-cat with moderate white spotting and green eyes.
Tigerclaw is a black tabby Tom with amber eyes.

WC Take 2 Masterpost
Warrior Cats Take 2 (or #WCTake2) is a fresh take on the hit series Warrior Cats by Erin Hunter. WCT2 features original animation friendly designs, a small concise cast, and unique explorations of both new and old concepts within Warrior Cats. WCT2 is purely fan-work and should not be mistaken for canon nor a genuine adaptation of WC to the big screen. Everything on this blog is a hypothetical retelling of the original series as though it were written for television today.
Q: What Arcs will be covered? A: Likely only The Prophecies Begin, The New Prophecy, and Power of Three.
Q: Why isn’t (so-and-so) here? Why are these families different? A: The original family tree and cast of Warrior Cats was too large even for the Hunters to keep track of, so some unimportant or redundant characters will be axed and some familial relations will be changed to prevent accidental inbreeding. We also feel as though certain pairings should not or would not work, so they will not be featured in the rewrite.
Q: Will clan structures be changed as well? A: Yes, but only slightly. There are some aspects of the clans that we feel could use a rehaul.
