I've reblogged gofundmes before but never one quote this personal. My friend needs more help than I alone can give right now, so I'm boosting this here in hopes that it will help.

I first met Lyli when they moved in two houses down from me in middle school. They came to my thirteenth birthday party, and we clicked immediately. When we entered high school, we rode the same bus as well and quickly became close. We shared a passion for music, a love of Star Wars, and a feeling of not quite fitting into our surroundings that neither of us could yet put a name to (spoiler alert: we're both queer!).

We used to walk from the bus stop together and end up lingering in their driveway just talking so long that my grandma would call her mom, asking whether I was still sitting out there on the asphalt, chatting away.

Walking home turned into driving around together, the sharing of our deepest secrets reserved for those nights spent on bumpy backroads. We climbed in each other's windows, each other's homes a refuge when our own homes became untenable for one reason or another. We shared pretty much everything.

Lyli came out to me in our junior year of high school, years before I would finally admit to anyone--even myself--that I was also queer. We kept in touch through college, and grad school, but eventually time and distance did their work and we drifted apart. But I can't think of being young without thinking of Lyli, and I always hope that they're doing well.

Which is why I was so pained to hear about their recent troubles. I've seen the struggles they overcame in their adolescence, and they're an incredibly strong and resilient person, but even the most resilient person needs help sometimes. If I had a house I would tell Lyli to bring Liam and their cat and move in tomorrow. If I had money I would give it to them without question. But I don't have either of those things. What I do have is a tumblr and a lot of very kind followers that I'm hoping can help out a queer family in dire need. Even if you can only give a couple of dollars, that's a couple more dollars between Lyli and homelessness.

Oh ok so it turns out ive been borrowing grief from the future ! it turns out ive been preparing to lose the things i love rather than basking in the light of them while they last. Maybe i should nt do that

Ok dash reloaded but I saw a tweet screenshot comparing Netanyahu in Congress with Nazi Germany and I think those comparisons are generally apt but they said it as "this is Worse than Nazi Germany because the world legitimizes it" and I need you guys to know the world DID legitimize Nazi Germany. Their violence and racism was largely known, their positions were shared by leaders in many countries in the imperial core, and they operated pretty much with impunity for years before the war, which started not because other countries cared about Jews or Roma or anyone else's lives, but because Germany started threatening the power of other European nations. It's important to me that we all know this
