Malaysian artist Monica Lee draws amazingly photo-realistic images with graphite pencils. She states: “I like to challenge myself with complex portraits especially people with freckles or beard. Chilean artist Dasic Fernandez has created a series of eye-catching street murals that “ooze with bright colors and patterns”.  His style is recognizable through the marriage of realistic portraits and layers of rich colors applied onto the fabric of the subject's garment.  These fabrics pay homage to the “Yemeni community of Hamtramck, Michigan” while others are depicted as bandanas covering a graffiti artist's face at work.  The combination of repetitive patterns creates dreamy illusions, inviting viewers to explore their imagination.  Find more of the artist's works on his website.

In his series “Pencilism”, Miami-based artist Federico Uribe does amazing sculptures of pencils with different colors. The sculptures are so detailed that they look sometimes like classical paintings and landscapes, animals and humans’ sculptures in 3D.

Adidas has updated its “MiAdidas” customised footwear offering with an option that lets fans personalise their trainers with their own Instagram photos.
The sports business is launching an app in August that will allow users to have any of their Instagram pictures printed onto their ordered ZX Flux shoes.  Designs cover the whole body of the shoe, which was released in April in a range of pre-set print options. It is not known how much the customised shoes will cost, however, it is likely fans will be able to order them directly from the app.  Adidas revealed the launch in an Instagram post that read: ARE YOU READY? Take the #zxflux to the next level with the ultra innovative photo print app from #miadidas. Print your favourite photos straight on to one of 2014’s hottest silhouettes and make a statement on your sneakers like never before. Rolling out on iPhone and Android from August 2014. The possibilities are limitless.”

Spanish artist Pejac was recently in Santander in north of Spain where he created this new street piece in a risky neighbourhood of the city. He found a spot where a car was burnt few months ago, so the head of it peeled of the facade of the building and exposed the bricks under. True to his style and technique, Pejac used this as a base for his work, and with minimal intervention and maximal effect created this strong image of a paper plane bursting through the brick wall. By using simple perspective and dimension tricks, and perfectly handling the given base, the end result is a typical example of his public interventions he's been creating.

Cross-stitching does not usually come across as a particularly stimulating activity, but street artist Urban X Stitch has managed to show how this passive hobby can serve as a medium for cool public art.  The artist has decorated the fences of Lyon, France, with brightly colored cloth. He has “illustrated” a fish, a cat, and all sorts of cartoons to brighten up the city.

‘Not On App Store’ is a sticker that serves as a reminder that “the most important things in life are not on the app store”.  Designed to look like Apple’s ‘Available on App Store’ badges, the sticker also pokes fun at our dependency on technology and smartphones.  Read more from our source.

Artist Fintan Magee is currently in Australia where he just finished working on this sweet new piece. The talented Australian street artist quickly painted this signature piece which is showing a young woman fighting against dark grey clouds. Looks like he should have painted this in London.
