From Our Users: Real Feedback to Improve the AbotAgri App
Listening to Farmers — The Heart of Our App Development
As we continue to build AbotAgri, our mission remains clear: to connect farmers and buyers in a simpler, more efficient, and more trustworthy way. To stay true to that mission, we’ve gathered real feedback from our early users—the people who matter most. Their comments reveal both the strengths of our platform and the areas where we must improve.
Here’s what they had to say:
Technical Issues That Need Fixing
For many users, the log-in and account creation process is still a challenge.
Interviewee 1 shared:
“I just started using the app and it already says, ‘Error: The email is already in use by a different account.’ When I try to log in, it won’t let me. Also, the keyboard blocks the screen where I type, and I can’t proceed to the main page.”
This reflects the need for bug fixes and better user interface optimization, especially during onboarding.
Another issue came from Interviewee 3:
“I can’t post a product or proceed to checkout.”
Interviewee 7 added:
“I can’t add the quantity of the product I want. The buttons on the cart don’t work, and the numbers are confusing. Maybe put a comma.”
These technical hiccups prevent users from engaging fully with the app’s core features, and improving these functionalities is our top priority.
UI Design: When Color Gets in the Way
Multiple users found the app’s visual design—particularly the green color scheme—overwhelming.
Interviewee 2 remarked:
“The background color isn’t pleasing to the eyes.”
Interviewee 4 echoed the sentiment:
“There’s too much green. It makes it hard to see the text and makes navigation harder.”
Interviewee 3 also pointed out that the current theme affects focus and usability, especially during checkout or navigation.
This shows us that while green may connect with agriculture, balance and contrast matter more for accessibility and ease of use.
User Interface: Improvements in Layout and Clarity
Users also suggested changes in the positioning of key elements on the screen.
Interviewee 4 noted:
“The log-in/create account box could be better in the way it is positioned.”
On small devices, even minor layout flaws can disrupt the entire experience, so we’re working on refining screen elements for better clarity and responsiveness.
What’s Working: Simplicity, Structure, and Trustworthiness
Despite the bugs and visual issues, some users appreciated the simplicity and organization of the app.
Interviewee 5 shared:
“It’s easy to explore because of its simplicity and direct commands. The fonts are visible, and the color combination works well for me. Content is organized, and pricing is from a reliable source, which assures customers.”
This feedback confirms that the core value of the app—transparency and direct access—is resonating well with some users.
A Strong Call for Buyer-Seller Communication and Safety
Several users emphasized the need to message sellers to confirm delivery details and seller authenticity.
Interviewee 2 mentioned:
“I’m thinking of messaging the seller to understand better if they’re too far or if delivery is available in our area.”
Interviewee 6 raised a valid concern:
“I hope the app has a way to verify if the sellers are legit, so I know I’m dealing with someone trustworthy.”
Trust and communication are crucial in building long-term engagement, and we’re working on implementing messaging features and seller verification tools to ensure a safe and transparent marketplace.
Insights Gained from the Feedback
📌 Fixing sign-up, login, and checkout bugs – Users should be able to access and use the app without errors or confusion.
📌 Improving UI and color themes – Overuse of green and cluttered elements need to be replaced with more balanced, accessible designs.
📌 Enhancing layout and button functionality – Input fields and cart buttons must work smoothly, especially on smaller devices.
📌 Adding communication and verification features – Allowing messaging and ensuring sellers are verified will build trust and confidence.
📌 Maintaining what works – Clear layout, readable fonts, and simple commands are strengths we will continue to preserve.
