Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box puzzle 032
requested by anonymous
It's a Wrap

Laurel is very particular about wrapping this flower as it is a gift for an important friend of hers. She would like it to be wrapped as shown below, but has no idea where to begin.
In order to wrap the flower just like the drawing on the left,
HINTS:
HINT 1
Pay attention to the direction and starting point of each diagrammed fold.
HINT 2
Since the green edge of the wrapping paper will be obscured as you roll up the paper in A and D, you can disregard both these answers.
HINT 3
You're left with only two options at this point, so focus on the direction of the wrapping, and you'll soon find the solution.
You can turn your device sideways if you still struggle with it.

1. Jim and Tom are not next to each other.
2. Steve and Mike are one step apart.
3. Tom is on a higher step than Steve.

Professor Layton and the Unwound Future puzzle 138
Quirky Clockwork

This fancy analogue watch features a small window at the bottom that displays the day of the month, as seen in these three examples.
Out of the three numbers indicated by the letters A, B and C,
HINTS:
HINT 1
When the date changes over, however, a date that doesn't exist could appear...
Two of the three examples show the date, just at its changing over from one day to the next.
Think about how two of these numbers are possible and see if you can work out why one of them isn't.
HINT 2
Bear in mind that each day of the month is listed in order on a rotating dial inside the watch.
So when the 19th switches to the 20th, for example, you would see the number 92 displayed for a few moments around midnight.
HINT 3
The number 93 in example B shows the date as the 29th is switching over to the 30th at midnight.
By the way, there's no 40th of the month...

Professor Layton and the Last Specter puzzle 017
requested by anonymous
The Same Doll?

There are four dolls here. It may not look like it at first, but one of these dolls, marked A, B and C, is identical to the doll on the far-left.
HINTS:
HINT 1
The dolls may all look different, but the word "identical" is accurate here.
Pay close attention to what the dolls are wearing.
HINT 2
Have you tried comparing the dolls from different angles?
Think about how you might examine the dolls if you were holding them.
HINT 3
The faces and hats of the dolls don't have much to do with solving the puzzle. What you should be paying attention to are the colours of the clothing and of the arms and legs.
SUPER HINT
Look at the colours of the socks and gloves, as well as the colour of the fringe on the bottom of the skirts to help pick out the right doll.

Thank you so much :)
I am so glad that people are being kind and understanding about my personal post. It makes me feel very happy and relieved since I had it in my drafts for a while, but only dared to post it today after seeing some particularly upsetting things.
So, an extended thank you to everyone who is offering support in any way, be it in tags, comments, or simply by liking the post :)

weekly Layton puzzle #029
Professor Layton and the Lost Future puzzle 70
requested by @zosonils
Third Youngest

"10 close brothers and sisters live together. Now Luke, let's imagine that you're the eighth child.
The oldest daughter is the second son's younger sister and the third son's older sister. The fourth son is the second daughter's older brother and the oldest daughter's younger brother. There are no boys in between the third and fourth daughters.
Is the third child from the bottom a boy or a girl?"
"I can't tell just from this!"
Let's tell Luke the answer in secret.
HINTS:
HINT 1
You weren't confounded by that roundabout explanation, were you? Read the puzzle again from the very beginning.
HINT 2
Is reading all the conditions of the puzzle proving too much of a pain?
If you've started thinking that way, then you should know that this is a VERY simple puzzle!
HINT 3
Out of the 10 brothers and sisters, Luke is the eighth child "from the top".
If this is the first condition of the puzzle, then...
SUPER HINT
Out of 10 brothers and sisters, third from the bottom is eighth from the top.
Luke certainly isn't a girl...
"I think you know the answer now, Luke!"

SOLUTION
Correct!

The decoration on Pot D looks like "21:15", which is how 9:15pm would appear on a 24-hour clock.
