I AM LOSING MY MIND TYSM đđđđđ My schooling will be put on hold for the foreseeable future-
I need comic book recs!!!!
I'm a bit limited, but I just won a gift card for a book store and I wanna know which comic series are good reads.
I'm thinking of getting Batman: the long Halloween. But I wanna read more about the wider batfam as well.
My fav is Tim drake. I'd love to read some comics with him. And I also wanna read more of Duke cus idk his character all that well.
(again I am very very limited as this isn't a comic store, so- they might not have many)

Tim Drake is insanely wonderful to me because while, yes, he is a genius, an absolutely legendary Robin, a teenager who went up to Batman, looked him in the eyes and practically dragged him back up from the bottom, a kind soul, a boy who will put anyone he cares about above himself, an amazing business man, a prodigy in his own right, a breathtaking photographer and a hell of a funny guy...
He is also Tim Drake.
Bruce Wayne is his adopted father and you can hyphenate his name to Drake-Wayne all you'd like, but when he walks into a gala he is Timothy Drake, the son of Janet Drake. He glides through crowds methodically and with the confidence of someone who has been in these social circles for years on end. His analytical and judgemental stare scares even the most cunning there. When he's in the room, he is the predator and every single socialite in the vicinity is his prey.
Sure he's polite, and he's charming, and yes if you're kind towards him then he will be kind towards you. Tim is someone who will take kindness and he will repay itâ but the same rule applies to unkindness.
The person Tim transforms into when entering a galaâ the person underneath all that shed skinâ never fails to surprise anyone the first time they witness it. It's hard to forget, for the rest of the family, that Tim was brought up in this environment even before being adopted by Bruce.
The first time Bruce noticed, the first gala he brought Tim to, he'd forgotten that Tim knew the ropes and thought he would have to teach Tim how galas work. Only for Tim to stop him, informing (and reminding) him that he's fully aware. The Robin suit may be what he wears to fight, but his three piece is what he wears to hunt.
Dick did something similar; since his first gala was a media nightmare, after he'd gotten adopted, he wanted to spare Tim the horrors of being eaten alive by paparazzi and socialites. He didn't even get to warn his new younger brother before Tim was already off, blending into the scene like he'd never left it at all. (And, just maybe, he truly hadn't.)
It even absolutely stumps (and amazes) Bernard, because he had gotten used to a more relaxed Tim, far, far away from that rich and elite environment. He's seen the younger and more human side of Tim, the one who lives in a cluttered boat in the Gotham Marina and stumbles over his feet during their dates. The first time he gets an invitation to the gala, he's told he will meet Tim thereâ since the Wayne's are hosting. When he steps into the gala, though, and sets his eyes in Tim, he's absolutely floored.
Gone is the adorable, blushing mess that he sees sitting across from him during restaurant dates. Gone is the absolute geek that could ramble on about anything that currently interests him for hours and hours. Gone is the endearing genius that could figure out any puzzle if he put his mind to it. No, in front of Bernard stands a socialite, a young one yet one who knows his place. One who knows his worth. And yet, when their eyes meet and Tim flashes him a smile, Bernard knowsâ even in a three piece suit and with a sharp gaze that could render anyone in this huge hall speechlessâ that's still Tim.

How to show emotions
Part V
How to show grief
a vacant look
slack facial expressions
shaky hands
trembling lips
swallowing
struggling to breathe
tears rolling down their cheeks
How to show fondness
smiling with their mouth and their eyes
softening their features
cannot keep their eyes off of the object of their fondness
sometimes pouting the lips a bit
reaching out, wanting to touch them
How to show envy
narrowing their eyes
rolling their eyes
raising their eyebrows
grinding their teeth
tightening jaw
chin poking out
pouting their lips
forced smiling
crossing arms
shifting their gaze
clenching their fists
tensing their muscles
then becoming restless/fidgeting
swallowing hard
stiffening
holding their breath
blinking rapidly
exhaling sharply
How to show regret
scrubbing a hand over the face
sighing heavily
downturned mouth
slightly bending over
shoulders hanging low
hands falling to the sides
a pained expression
heavy eyes
staring down at their feet

I wrote about this a little last night but I really wanna talk more about how they shifted the focus of Zuko's arc in the live action ATLA and how it does a disservice to both his and Azula's arcs.
In the original, Zuko's quest for the Avatar and his motivating factor there was always about reclaiming what he had lost. His honor, of course, but also his family and his life in the Fire Nation. That's a large part of why the end of season two hits so hard. Zuko had finally been starting to realize that his uncle was his true family and that he could be happy outside of the Fire Nation. But then when given the choice, he threw that away in the hopes of reclaiming what he thought he truly needed to be happy, his family and his home. And then in season 3 he came to realize that he wasn't happy in the Fire Nation and any sense of familial love and affection he had thought he would receive didn't come. Everything that he thought he had wanted hadn't fulfilled him in any way. So he decided to follow his heart, leave it all behind, and do what he thought was right and good, just as his uncle had taught him.
The show ATLA pivots the focus of Zuko's quest to be less about regaining his honor and more about regaining his power. He constantly mentions things like "I'm still the heir to the throne right?" and about him being able to regain his rightful place as a prince of the Fire Nation. He never once mentions restoring his honor so he can go home.
At the same time, the show introduces Azula early to foment this power rivalry between the two, with Ozai pulling their strings. Even Ozai's original reasoning to banish Zuko was shifted from being about respect and honor to being about toughening Zuko up and pushing Azula to be stronger at the same time. Ozai intentionally manipulated this power rivalry between the two of them to try and make them "stronger".
But what gets me is not only was Zuko's quest never about power in the original, but Azula's rivalry with Zuko in the original was also never about power? It was about her mommy issues, and the fact that their mother loved Zuko more than her and viewed her as a monster. That's extremely evident when she starts having her breakdown towards the end and apparitions of her mother start appearing before her. She only ever viewed power as a way to keep people from leaving her, not as something she deeply desired. She never truly got to experience unconditional love as a child, and so the only way for her to feel loved and admired was for her to demand it out of others.
The original Zuko/Azula rivalry was never ever not even for a second about power. It was about love. And that is such a harder thing to write well, a sibling rivalry about love. It's easy to throw a throne between them and have them fight over it. It's much harder to write a story where the two of them are competing over the love they both wish they'd had. Zuko always wanted for his father to love and respect him. Azula always wanted for her mother to love and respect her. Both felt voids within them that they thought they could fill in their own ways, and took out their frustrations out on each other and on those around them.
In the end, Zuko filled the void in his heart with good friends and the uncle who had always treated him like a son. Azula crumbled and lost control the second her friends betrayed her. She had thought she had filled the void in her heart, but it had always had a weak foundation, and the second it started crumbling, it took Azula with it. Her friends never loved her. They only feared her.
This is why Zuko won their agni kai in the end. He had the love of his friends and family on his side, keeping him strong. Love is stronger than fear, that's the message in the end.
So, that's why I'm pissed they're making this more about power. I know there are opportunities in later seasons for them to backtrack this and fix it, but even if they do I feel like the damage is already done. The message is tainted with whispers of power when in the original that was never a thing. It was always always about love.

Dialogue Responses Masterlist
"Where do we go from here?" (x)
"You tell me."
"I wish I knew."
"Why do you ask me?"
"I honestly don't know."
"The only way is forward."
"Hopefully to a better place."
"Back to where we came from."
"We need to leave the past behind."
"Oh, but I'm horrible with directions."
"Doesn't matter, as long as we're together."
"I miss you." (x)
"I miss you too."
"It's just temporary."
"I wish you were here."
"We'll see each other again."
"Well, that's too bad for you."
"Just a few more days, I promise."
"One day, I won't have to leave again."
"The truth is, I don't miss you anymore."
"I'm sorry, I can't change that right now."
"This wasn't the last time we've seen each other."
"It doesn't matter." (x)
"Maybe not."
"It matters to me!"
"Maybe not to you."
"But you do matter!"
"It used to matter to you."
"You just don't know it yet."
"But it will matter, believe me."
"Well, I would say it does matter."
"You can't hide behind this facade forever."
"Don't you see that there are people who care?"
âHow are you?â (x)
âFine.â (A lie)
âIâm fine.â (Honest)
âI have been better.â
âNot that bad actually.â
âWhy would you even care?â
âIâve been feeling worse before.â
"I feel like I should ask you that.â
âWell, itâs so nice of you to askâŠâ
âIâm doing quite well at the moment.â
âProbably a lot better than you look like.â
"I need your help." (x)
"Where's the body?"
"What's the problem?"
"You never ask for help."
"You can always count on me."
"Tell me what to do and I'll do it."
"You know I will always help you."
"Why does that sentence scare me?"
"That's a sentence I have heard before."
"Why do I feel like this is more than a small favour?"
"It seems to be important, if you are willing to ask me."
âWhat do you need?â (x)
âYou.â
âA hug.â
âMotivation.â
âI just donât know.â
âFresh air to breathe.â
âSome tissues, please.â
âNothing you could give me.â
âJust a very small favour, I promise.â
âA small moment to just be by myself.â
âSilence, but that seems too much to ask for.â
âI have a plan.â (x)
âFinally!â
âTell me what to do.â
âAlright, letâs hear it.â
âCanât make things worse.â
âHopefully itâs a good one.â
âIâm scared to find out what it is.â
âDoes it involve staying unharmed?â
âGreat, now weâre even more screwed.â
âWhy do you sound so happy about that?â
âGreat timing, because we desperately need one.â
âThere is something I wanted to tell youâŠâ (x)
âIâm listening.â
âAnd here we goâŠâ
âDonât even bother.â
âLetâs get it over withâŠâ
âStop being so ominous.â
âYouâre making me nervous.â
âI already know. And I do too.â
âPsst. You donât need to say it.â
âWhy do you look at me like that?â
âI think I already know where this is going.â
âWhat is wrong with you?â (x)
âItâs a long story.â
âVery good question.â
âOh, so many things.â
âToo many things to count.â
âWell, thank you for askingâŠâ
âIâm tired of defending myself.â
âDonât act like Iâm the problem!â
âHow much time do you have?â
âDo you really want to find out?â
âNothing, but what is wrong with you?â
âDo you feel better now?â (x)
âA tiny bit.â
âI feel worse.â
âYes, thank you.â
âSurprisingly yes.â
âNot even a little bit.â
âWould you feel better?â
âI donât even know anymore.â
âActually yes, I do feel better.â
âYes, but stop laughing at me.â
âI donât think I will ever feel better again.â
âI feel like Iâm losing you.â (x)
âI will never leave you.â
âYou need to let me go.â
âItâs not losing, itâs evolving.â
âI will always be here for you.â
âI donât want go, but I have to.â
âYouâve already lost me a while ago.â
âWhat am I supposed to answer you?â
âAnd you are still not fighting to keep me.â
âA little late to realize that you want me around.â
âYouâre not losing me, I was never yours to be lost.â
âWhat are we?â (x)
âProbably stupid.â
âLost. And desperate.â
âI donât know anymore.â
âWhy do you ask me that?â
âTough question to answer.â
âWhat would you like us to be?â
âHuman. At least I hope we still are.â
âNot the right time for that question.â
âI would like us to be more than friends.â
âNothing anymore. We are nothing to each other.â
âJealousy doesnât look good on you.â (x)
âYou know you love it.â
âShut up, Iâm not jealous.â
âThen donât make me jealous.â
âEverything looks good on me.â
âJealous? Over you? Oh, please.â
âReally? It looks great on you, though.â
âJealousy? That word is not in my vocabulary.â
âThere is no reason for me to be jealous, right?â
âAs if I would be jealous over you. I mean of you.â
âYouâre right, it does suit you much more than me.â
âI think you are in love.â (x)
âOh, hell no.â
âIs that what it is?â
âDonât be ridiculous.â
âAnd what do I do now?â
âThis is so embarrassing.â
âShit. Iâm in love with them.â
âDonât say a word to anyone!â
âDefinitely not. Doesnât sound like me.â
âIn love? I donât have time to be in love.â
âBut I hate them. I am in hate with them.â
âCan we talk?â (x)
âSure, whatâs up?â
âThat would probably help.â
âWhat is there to talk about?â
âOh, so now you want to talk?â
âYouâre making me nervous now.â
âNot right now. Later Iâll be all ears.â
âYouâre scaring me. Is everything ok?â
âThis is not the right moment for this.â
âActually no. I donât want to talk right now.â
âI think weâve all said what we wanted to say.â
âAre you afraid of me?â (x)
âYou wish.â
âSometimes.â
âWhy would I?â
âShould I be afraid?â
âNah. Youâre a big softie.â
âDo I look like I am afraid?â
âI will never be afraid of you.â
âWould that change anything?â
âYeah. I mean, kinda. Definitely.â
âDo you want me to be afraid of you?â

BG3 Spell Voice Lines Cheat Sheet
Here's a spreadsheet of BG3 spells (levels 1-6) and their vocal components/voice lines.
This is a work in progress, combining info from various sources. Some spells don't have voice lines, some have voice lines but aren't listed in the sources (will have to verify in-game), and some have voice lines but I couldn't understand what was being said, lol.
For any feedback/corrections, feel free to send me a message! I would also appreciate help in figuring out some of the voice lines <3

(who's gonna save you, hero?)
i love whump fics where tim ends up on the ropes alone and doesn't know if anyone's gonna reach him in time
i really really love leonardo romero's inks and jordie bellaire's colors from the "i am the gun" mini telling the zur-en arrh backstory (in batman issues #128-130), so this is another loose style study
i had this frame in mind specifically, altho i couldnt quite commit to the hard inks
ALSO the concept was loosely based off the issues in legacy ('tec (1940) #698-99) where tim goes undercover and then gets nabbed by lockup and his comm cuts off in the middle of telling nightwing what's going on, which also gave us this great (but misleading) cover

Feral Tim Moments
Despite having one of the most normal lives of any of the Batfamily, Tim Drake often makes you wonder if he was raised by rabid raccoons in the alley behind a 7/11. But which of these canon moments is his most feral?
