In the new Shatterbox Anthology film 50/50, Emmy-nominated filmmaker and Webby Awards founder Tiffany Shlain embarks on a journey to document the true history of powerful women around the world. The project began when Shlain became aware of an interesting statistic about the number of women who have been elected heads of state, which was a lot more than she thought.

Ursula K. Le Guin (b. 1929) is a renowned fantasy and science-fiction author, described by The New York Times as “America’s greatest living science fiction writer”. She has won several prestigious prizes such as the Hugo Award, Nebula Award, and World Fantasy Award, all of them more than once.

Her most famous and celebrated works include the novels The Left Hand of Darkness and The Dispossessed. She was the first person to win both the Hugo and the Nebula Award for both of these books.
