AO3 IS IN TROUBLE IF CALIFORNIAN AGE VERIFICATION LAW PASSES

An upcoming Age verification bill centered in California will be voted on Monday-- And as always,instead of actually protecting kids, it will lead to more online censorship and privacy risks, as it will force websites hosting to verify their users age by sending their ID, your browser history would be linked to it. if you live California, call your reps and tell them to oppose the bill AB3080 as it highly unconstitutional.

They also deem LGBT content harmful to minors, as well as mentions of weapons and tobacco, putting them on the same level as NSFW content.

Since AO3 headquarters reside in California, much like Reddit, Twitter,Discord and Youtube (and others) who knows how bad the effects would be. Instead of just effecting Californians (even then its concerning.) the effects would be US or even worldwide. VPNs wont help.

not to be controversial bc I know this is like…not in line with shifting opinions on fanfic comment culture but if there’s a glaring typo in my work I will NOT be offended by pointing it out. if ao3 fucks up the formatting…I will also not be offended by having this pointed out…

‘looking forward to the next update’ and ‘I hope you update soon!’ are different vibes than a demand, and should be read in good faith because a reader is finding their way to tell you how much they love it. I will not be mad at this.

‘I don’t usually like this ship but this fic made me feel something’ is also incredibly high praise. I’m not going to get mad at this.

even ‘I love this fic but I’m curious about why you made [x] choice’ is just another way a reader is engaging in and putting thought into your work.

I just feel like a lot of authors take any comment that’s not perfectly articulated glowing praise in the exact manner they’re hoping to receive it in bad faith.

fic engagement has been dropping across the board over the last several years, and yes it’s frustrating but it isn’t as though I can’t see how it happens. comment anxiety can be a real thing. the last thing anyone wants to do is offend an author they love, and that means sometimes people default to silence.

idk where I’m going with this I guess aside from saying unless a comment is outright attacking me I’m never going to get mad at it, and I think a lot of authors should feel the same way. ESPECIALLY TYPOS PLZ GOD POINT OUT MY TYPOS.

Skeleton Siblings Part... Whatever

Yeah, I'll be putting the 'official' designs underneath. Official... if we are excluding Papyrus's flower she wears that is. I still don't know what pronouns to use for Papy... might make them just like me though.

I'll have the Keep Reading undermeath for those that don't want to continue scrolling to have to scroll too much longer.

Of course, Papy is the one that tends to the flower gardens the most. Always moving, doing floral arrangements... all that stuff. We'll see what Papy will choose for the pronouns and gender and stuff. Our pink magic skele I just hope will the pronouns chosen.

Meanwhile, we all know that the lazier brother, sister and sibling all in one, is going to be the fun one to write. I mean... if asked the question: "Are you a boy or a girl?" Answer is always Yes. That's why Sans is Papy's brother, Papy's sister and Papy's sibling all in one. Sans is just gender itself.

I might use the name of the colors for the two magic (Mint and Tulip) for their nicknames while in spaces with Sanses (Sansi?) and Papys. Oh, and before you ask... Sans is old enough to be Papy's parent. Papy is a teenager while Sans is in his mid thirties, almost late thirties.

Yeah, making that sock a darker purple just fixed the problem. It feels nice, even if I wanted the color Olive to be Sans's magic. Because I could use Sage as the color for sock... but this works.

Important News

It's not too important, just a notice that there's this story I've kind of 'abandoned' mainly because of a different reason. The premise slightly changed... and I honestly wanted to draw out the story instead.

Not much has been done for what I'll be doing with it, but do note that I'll be busy with art for that story... as well as writing another story that I've been procrastinating heavily on. Even more so than the insert reader story with the pirates. Heh... I really need to get to writing that story's chapter one.

Sorry, by the way... for how long it got to actually answer this. I just... wanted to draw the part of me reading off the letter and then doing the actions and all that.

A little note for the two skeletons

I should have been upfront about this, but the colors of the magic, also, affects the other skeleton. I mean... SANS IS WEARING A PINK HOODIE FOR A REASON! I understand that I doubt the votes will change between the two polls [Sans] [Papyrus] I have running.

Struggling to find a color that fits well for Papyrus's sock if the color chosen for Sans is Mint. THAT DAMN BLUEISH GREEN IS A PAIN IN THE ASS WITH THE OTHER GREENS I WANT TO USE! They are all more greenish yellow. I might redo that poll to include another color as I found out it's also an option... but it's a little too yellow. But it's perfect for the sock. Especially if the color is Olive!

Oh, and please ignore the fact that Papyrus doesn't have his flower. Her flower? Uh, I'll go with their flower for now. At least I don't need to worry about Sans, as the fucker just says 'Yes' to gender. Whatever floats their boat, right?

That sock is going to be a PAIN IN THE ASS WITH PAPYRUS! I might make it the yellow, to be honest. Eh, anyways... I'll stop ranting for now. If you haven't yet, please go click those two links and vote. I'll go back to trying to figure out how to write the story of these two flower farmers.

Edit: That sock might be a darker purple. I decided to check with one of the other purples I was looking at for the skeleton, and... yeah, I like it. If Mint does win, I can just go with purple sock with the more lavender colored boots and overalls.

Mentioned this before

These are the colors I'd choose for Sans. Two are very much more of a chartreuse, but I liked them. The colors will affect both color palates of the skeleton siblings, if you didn't realize by now. Yeah, I rolled up one of the pants legs because I really wanted to show off the type of shoes.

Of course, this is the color for Sans' (or would it be more accurate to say Sans's?) magic. I'm keeping the main color scheme I've already shown before... just choosing colors I like a bit more instead of color picking from the different skins in the skin pack.

Oh, and yes... colors are listed in order from left to right.

Question

As I am trying to be more active, I'll be talking about my WIPs more often. It's the best way to get me to be more active, after all. Currently, I haven't even touched my Pirate AU because I've been busy trying to deal with the artwork of character designs.

The same as the ones I've already shown, to be honest. However, I'm struggling slightly for finalizing the actual colors. More precise, there are a few that I like, but I wanted you all to choose what you might believe is the best.

As you can tell, it's for Papyrus. Specifically the color of the freckles, and magic by extension. Papyrus, in this AU, has pink magic. In another post for the Sans, I'll be asking for which green should I go for. That's gonna be in posted through the queue, by the way.

Just so you know, each alt(?) text for the pictures is the color associated. If you don't know how to access it, the colors that show up in order is the same order as the poll: IE Left to Right, with first three options being top while last three options for bottom row.

I only included the Cherry option because it's a pink... even if I'm more on the fence for it as it's a bit too close to the color of the bones. I do, however, not hate it completely, which was why it was included.
