Plushify is so cool you can just make a 3D model and turn it into a sewing pattern easy
This little guy will become real
But seriously, you can both make custom seams and scale the dimensions of the plush on the site. The size option even shows you a human for scale. It's so good I feel like I'm gonna be using this a lot and once I can donate to it I will.
You don't even have to be that good at making models btw, you just have to make a low-poly little guy and follow the prep instructions on the site.

it appears 2024 will continue the trend of art companies proudly representing themselves with the use of art theft generators [aka, AI generators]
original tweet is now deleted, but wacom used a generated image of a dragon for their 2024 lunar new year promo on twitter.
if you're shopping for art tablets, huion, artisul, and XPPen tablets do just as good a job as their wacom equivalents for less, sometimes even half the price.
when you buy a wacom you're paying almost exclusively for the Brand Name, not any actual quality.

US folks, tomorrow (December 7, 2023) the senate is going to vote on sending $14.3 billion more in funding for Israel. (It’s a huge funding bill for “defense funding” for many things, but they also included more funding for ICE in the bill). Please take 2 minutes to use this action tool to call your reps and demand they vote no to more funding for Israel
And please share this action tool with 3 people you know. You can literally copy-paste this post to them if you don’t know what to say

hate how all these apocalyptic films show society breaking down the hot minute the grid goes down, with all the survivors banding off into tiny violent gangs that prey on each other.
bitch you are a member of one of the most social species in existence! it is actually insane the extent to which humans have evolved to use cooperation as our main survival tool. humans have been building and then rebuilding societies for as long as disasters have been bringing them down. an apocalypse would be fucking awful, but the survivors would end up building communities and networks and pooling resources and knowledge, because that's what humans do. that's what they DO!!!

i started drawing this idea i had, then my wrist began to hurt again, so instead of waiting for the pain to go away like a normal person i just used my other hand instead. and you know what i think its better this way
ID under the cut courtesy of @princess-of-purple-prose !
this is what i did before the pain began U_U
[ID: A sketchy Spy x Family comic. Loid and Yor are sitting on the couch, and Loid says, "Yor, I have a question." She says, "Yes?" and he asks, "Why don't you use a gun? I'd think you'd have learned. (As an assassin and all.)" Yor replies cheerily, "Oh, I didn't see the point when I can throw projectiles faster. It's quieter, too." Loid looks comically shocked.
The image under the cut shows a Yor kneeling on the floor and wiping down a long dagger, drawn with cleaner line art and captioned "they were gonna be sitting on the floor cleaning their weapons together :(" End ID]

Okay, so this is what AI is useful for! The tool was originally to help with formatting, but they've added optional AI to it as well.
Human does the creative bit - AI gives it a little extra zing.
To be clear, the tool is not writing the description from scratch or from the contents of your book, you give it your previously created book description and it organises it to give it some extra oomph.
Example
My original blurb for a recent short story:
Joshua, a British climber on the exciting international climbing circuit, can heal those he cares about. No one outside his family knows, but when his best friend, Ethan, nearly dies in a soloing accident, Joshua has to act. He’s been secretly in love with his friend for years, he can’t let him die, but is his gift strong enough, will his secret get out, and what will Ethan think when he learns the truth?
Find out in this LGBTQ+ climbing romance.
The blurb this new tool came up with:
Danger and desire collide in this LGBTQ+ climbing romance! When Joshua, a British climber on the international climbing circuit, discovers his best friend, Ethan, has been in a soloing accident, he must act quickly. Not only is Joshua in love with Ethan, but he also has a secret gift that could save his friend's life. In a race against the clock, Joshua must decide how much of his secret he can reveal without risking everything he holds dear. Can he heal Ethan in time, and if so, what will Ethan think when he learns the truth? Find out in this thrilling and romantic story of love and adventure.
If you enjoy romantic tension, you'll love this LGBTQ+ climbing romance. Grab your copy now!
Let's face it, it's simply more exciting.
I don't care what anyone says, writing descriptions/blurbs for books is a skill of its own. I always struggle to write really good descriptions even though I've been doing this for over 10 years. I'm a lot better than I was (oh god, you should see some of my original ones), but it's still so hard!
Big publishing houses have people whose specific role is to do this because they just get it (at least that was the impression I got at a seminar I went to once - HarperCollins were trying to explain how they do book blurbs and they had one guy everyone looked to because it's a dark art).
I do my best to follow the formulae on all the 'How to..' sites, and I get the info in there, but it lacks a bit of marketing magic. This free tool gives it the extra zing.
Actually the Kindlepreneur site has lots of lovely tools for self-pub authors, some free, some not free. I used their Publisher Rocket for figuring out good keywords all the time and their category search is so useful too. So many great tutorials as well.
[EDIT: And yes, the AI does sometimes get it wrong - that's why humans will always be better than AI 😉]
