Shoutout to those transgender people that made it through thanksgiving dinner while being misgendered and dead named. I’m right there with you today.

As a trans person, I don’t believe that I was born trans. For me, it’s an identity that I took on later in life, when the discomfort with my assigned gender began to manifest more intensely. I don’t know if that discomfort was always present, but it’s not a requirement that it be there in order to be trans. There are plenty of things we figure out about ourselves later in life. It doesn’t make them any less valid, honest, or important realizations. The rights of transgender people should not rely on whether or not we were “born this way.” The fact of the matter is, as human beings who are simply trying to live out our truths, we deserve dignity, respect, and equal treatment under the law, whether we realized we were trans at age three or age 73.

6 State Leaders Argue Transgender Students Deserve No Accommodations In Schools

Gavin Grimm, a transgender teen in Virginia, is continuing his fight to simply access the boys’ bathroom at Gloucester High School along with his male classmates. After a federal judge ruled in September against providing immediate injunctive relief to allow Grim to continue using the bathroom, the ACLU appealed to the Fourth Circuit. This week, leaders from six states filed an amicus brief arguing that transgender teens like Grimm should not be provided any accommodations based on their gender identity.

hey trans friends
if you need binders/breast forms/makeup/etc but don’t want your parents to know, now is the best time to get it.
you can order whatever it is online and when the package comes in if the ask what it is you can say something like “it’s a secret!” or even just sssh them. they’ll assume it’s a present for whatever holiday you celebrate and probably won’t press the issue.

A series on transphobia I did for my Art with a Cause project. I thought the Trans Day of Visibility would be a good day to bring these issues up.

Revolutionary period underwear makers Thinx heard your feedback about being more inclusive and are acting accordingly. In addition to raising awareness about trans men and others who get their periods besides women, they’re updating their product line to be more accommodating.

Because Other Swimwear Options Just Don’t Cut it For Some of Us.

Help us provide an option for the nonbinary and transmasculine community in terms of swimtops. Everyone should have the option to go shirtless if they want to and everyone should be able to do it comfortably and confidently. Some people are cool with wearing a bikini top, tight compression sports bra, or a baggy tshirt – but what if you aren’t? What if you want to get a tan and wear something that’s more “masculine” or gender neutral? What if you want to be able to just feel shirtless? Our Bareskin Top is our solution to this problem. Offered in a variety of skin tones and in a more comfortable cut than other binders on the market, the Bareskin Top allows you to wear something that is less visually triggering than anything else out there and allows you to get a tan while also spending time in the water.
We need your help to make it a reality though! Our kickstarter is live until December 19, 2015 and with your help donating and spreading the word, we can have these bad boys available by next summer if we meet our fundraising goal.
Don’t you think everybody deserves to feel comfortable in their bare skin?

Donate, signal boost, spread the word, & support your community! If every person who reblogged this donated just $5 we would reach our goal in no time!

Today is the Trans Day of Remembrance, a day to reflect on the many lives cut far too short by hateful anti-trans violence. Join us in our online vigil as we celebrate the lives of the many trans women lost to senseless violence this year.

I know that pride is kind of nonstraight noncis and intersex peoples’ thing, but I want to stress that’s it’s okay to just kinda… not be proud.
I don’t mean that it should be a shameful thing, or that it’s okay to reject yourself, because that’s not it at all. But it’s okay to need some time to come to terms with things. It’s okay to be awkward and uncomfortable with your own identity. Realizing that you aren’t who you maybe always thought you were, or at least who society expected you to be, is just plain uncomfortable. It takes some dealing with. No matter your support system, not everyone is instantly okay with being gay or ace or pan or agender or nonbinary or binary trans because it’s still something that makes each of us in the community different, and it’s something we’ll have to face our whole lives. Even if it’s normal, sometimes it just feels weird.
So, don’t be afraid to take some time to come to terms with things, even if you’re already out and expressing your identity. Take all the time you need to accept yourself first, and the pride will come.

YOU ARE STILL A TRANSBOY IF
- you have a visible chest - you have long hair - you wear dresses - you wear makeup - you have a high pitched voice
YOU ARE STILL A TRANSGIRL IF
- you don’t have a visible chest - you have short hair - you don’t shave - you wear “masculine” clothing - you have a low pitched voice
BEING TRANSGENDER HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH APPEARANCE.

Starting a Collab Blog
Hello everyone!
I have just started this blog and I want it to be a collaborative experience. I’m looking for people on the non-binary or trans spectrum(cis people feel free to follow us-no shade, I’m sure you get it). Anyway, the things that I’m going to be posting are personal stories about things that happen to me relating to being trans. Also just little observations that I make.
I’m looking for five people to join me who would be comfortable sharing their experiences being trans or on the non-binary spectrum. It doesn’t matter who you are or how far along you are in your transition or what you look like-no judgement. If you’re interested please submit the following to me:
name
age
pronouns
why you would like to be apart of this blog
where you are on the gender spectrum
This blogs purpose is to have constructive conversation about trans topics. I’m really looking forward to reading the submissions. The Auditioning will be starting November 15th and lasting until December 6th. :))
