Why is it that when you're tweaking a cue before a show, every actor seeks out the spot with the light, but can't find their light during a performance? This is a legitimate query. I just don't understand???¿?

Got a shipment of brand new Color Source Spots today! So exhausted from hanging them, but still took the time to half-heartedly edit this together. Snapped this shot while I was putting the barrels onto the fixture bodies.

12 Angry Jurors by Reginald Rose
Figured I’d share some photos from when I went back to my old high school to work on this show. I always loved performing in the round and I was so excited to try my hand at lighting in the round! It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

I try to do that as well! It’s always nice to have a combo to fall back on if you’re in a rush, though. Luckily, since I’ve been working in different venues a lot lately, each stage takes light differently and that makes it necessary to rotate and use different colors (preventing me from being too lazy with my washes :P).
Color preferences
Hey lxblr!
I’ve always loved how we, as designers, often use the same tricks of the trade, but we still have our own (often strongly held) preferences when it comes to things like which colors we like to use for washes. I personally like the of R08 and R373 (though the space I’m working in now is naturally pretty warm so I’ve taken to only using frost in my warm wash)
For shits and gigs, what warm/cool combo is your favorite?

Your director takes a stunning cue and asks for “more front light”

Just realized I never shared my final design for Pippin at Thomas Worthington High School with you guys! It was so fun getting to play at scenic designer with all those stretch sails.
