“What a shame. I like all bad.” Icy let her arms fold across her chest as she listened. “After all, being the most wanted witch across several dimensions, that’s not shocking. Except this dimension,never been here.”

Her frigid gaze focused on the one that had spoken before returning towards Roman when he interrupted and then began to ask her a question. “Dust? You mean like that stuff that gets over old things or not cleaned things?” Confusion spread over her features.

“That makes no sense. You had it right the first time.” Icy decided to brush off the dust comment. “Ice magic is my strongest form of magic, but I can do all sorts. You name some kind of magic, I can do it. Plus flying, teleporting, that sort of thing.”

“Real magic without the help of Dust... guess things work differently in your dimension,” Roman replied thoughtfully. 

“Y’see where I’m from, Dust is a natural resource. It takes on the form of what looks like gemstones and they’re crushed and used like gunpowder, but produce elements when used. There’s ice, fire, earth, lightning... lots of other kinds.”

Crystals still circling in the air behind her, the witch scanned  the group up and down more thoroughly now that they’d drawn closer. Hm. They might be bruised but they were still around. She wondered if they were useful at all or if they’d be a waste. But the apparent leader looked fine, which spoke well for him.

“The name’s Icy.” Her hands rested on her hips, not sparing a look at the girl she had turned into literal ice mere moments ago. Instead she snapped her fingers and had the crystals vanish; she could summon them later to try to figure them out. Right now she needed to keep an eye on the male. But Icy was intrigued. “Who are you?”

“Roman Torchwick. National sweetheart and wanted criminal. Not all good, not all bad.”

His henchmen stood there in silence, and a couple rolled their eyes behind their shades. They were wondering how long this introduction - more like flirting - was going to take.

A random guy spoke up. “Hey boss, can we get moving--”

“Hold on a sec,” Roman said, cutting him off. “Are those ice powers... Or is that the work of Dust?”

“Cute effort whatever you are. But that stuff really isn’t going to work on me.” Whoever this girl was had met a rather unfortunate fate in taking on the ice witch. She hadn’t been in a good mood, and the wrong thing said at the wrong time had led to a- well it had been fairly one sided so it wasn’t really a fight. But for lack of better word, a fight. “Little things like you shouldn’t play in the big leagues.” 

Blue eyes were swift to notice the scattered gems, and it was a simple spell to have them all float off the ground as Icy examined them. How strange. Clearly they held some value but as to what was beyond Icy. But she just seized a bunch so, perhaps she’d figure it out in this world.

A sound of approaching feet reached her ears and she turned, noting a few men, but mainly the one in the middle with orange hair. Eyebrows arched but she still offered a grin that radiated power and danger. “Well hello boys.”

As Roman walked with some amount of swagger down the street, he put a cigarette to his lips and smoked it for a second as his newly-hired henchmen followed him. Roman’s men were somewhat bruised from a fight they’d just come from - an annoyingly innocent young girl who Roman simply referred to as “Red” had easily taken them out after their successful Dust robbery. Roman, on the other hand, didn’t have a scratch on him since he’d made a clean getaway.

“I can’t believe you boys. I stand by what I said earlier - you were worth every cent. Which doesn’t mean much,” the redheaded criminal sighed. “Junior owes me big time.”

The man temporarily looked up from his cigarette and raised a brow at the attractive young woman before him. “And who are you, gorgeous?”

a few things to note:

1) i’ve added hector from disney pixar’s coco to my list of muses!!!

2) that being said, spoilers are inevitable. it’s rather hard to talk about the plot of this movie without spoilers. the movie has been out for two months now. i will tag spoilers if necessary, but i won’t be tagging them forever

3) i’m not mexican, of mexican descent, or in any way hispanic/latinx. i don’t claim to know everything about the culture, or a lot of things for that matter. i will mainly be making references from the movie “coco” as my source of knowledge and looking up things about mexican culture i don’t know, which is a lot. if i ever get anything wrong or use a term the wrong way and you’re in a position to correct me, please do!!! the last thing i want to do is come across as ignorant or not caring about other cultures.
