I feel like the thing thats really different about the polish trans experience is that because the language is heavily gendered and asking about a persons gender is very much not normalized, now that my body looks mostly androgynous people started referring to me with grammatical forms that have never been uttered by human tongue before. Last week a woman couldn’t decide what gender I was so after trying several she settled on speaking to me in plural and infinitive

It's Juneteenth yall. And I'm not letting this day go unmarked.

Black people fight for everybody. We stand in solidarity with women, lgbt people, poor people all over the world of every skin color and background. Every religion and nationality.

Today, stand with us. Be with us. Tell a black person you love them. Hug a black person (with consent). Ask that hot black girl out today. Make a black person smile. Black lives matter to everybody and you matter to us.

Stand with us on Juneteenth like we stand with you all year round, and I hope a happy Pride month continues for all of us

Learning Japanese as an anime fan can be difficult because there’s a lot of negativity thrown around towards people who “are just learning Japanese because of anime”. Personally, I find this very demotivating and I’m sure many other people do because yes, anime is a large part of why I want to learn Japanese.

So I want to pass on a piece of advice that has stuck with me for years. I don’t actually remember where I heard it.

*there is no bad motivation to learn a language*

Languages connect people and that is inherently a good thing. If something inspires you to learn, don’t think twice about if you’re learning it for the right reason just enjoy the process. Worst case scenario you have an increased knowledge of other cultures and ability to communicate.
