Passed some wayward mushies on my walk this morning. A friend tentatively suggested they could be yellow fieldcaps (grown from fertiliser applied to the grass), but I know nothing about mushrooms personally.

There's virtually nothing growing in my balcony garden right now, despite it being the tail end of summer and basically the best possible time to be growing things.

However, I did plant out some basil I got from the supermarket that I didn't use up in my recipe. It had a rocky start out here, but after a few weeks it's looking green and lively.

What's everyone's favourite flowers that aren't like. The normal ones. Like everyone's a fan of roses and sunflowers what's a more niche one. One you don't get in gift sets. Mine's sweet peas

What hardiness zone are you in? Your winter tomatoes are lovely!

I'm in Australia so we don't use hardiness zones the same way! Our whole country would be above zone 7 or 8 I think, haha. I live in a temperate coastal climate so I think probably in the vicinity of zone 10?

We had a very mild winter last year and didn't get lower than like 2°C (35–36 F), even over night, haha, so the basil shriveled into a sad black mass but the weird out of season tomato plant lived, and just grew very, very verrrrry slowly in the low light. ✨

Been struggling a little with fatigue, so I think I'm gonna focus on jogging frequency rather than distance this week.

If I run an easy mile 4 times in a week and go "I'm getting out even though I feel bad, yay me!" it's basically the same as running 2 miles twice and going "wow, I haven't been doing much lately and I suck."

I'm going on a food prep adventure this weekend! By this I mean I'm going to cook 8 meals and prepare 4 breakfasts.

I want it to last me from Monday through to Thursday, which is my last working day for the coming week. And I'd prefer at least two kinds of cooked meal, so I don't get bored and sad. So I'll cook two batches of four servings and freeze half of each.

Today's goal is to make my grocery list, compare it to what's in the cupboard, clean up the kitchen (and wash the pile of tupperware next to the sink... >.>) and go grocery shopping.

Cooking anything today will be a bonus, but I do not expect to get that much done because I've met myself. I think my stretch goal will just be to make the breakfasts, which at least require no actual cooking.

(Imagine being in the habit of organising yourself so that you don't need a carefully curated to-do list to get anything done. What a life...! Hahaha.)

This isn't my most exciting and artistic photography, but a friend helped me pick these roses while I was dithering for like five minutes over the wide selection at the store, haha. I would never end up picking bright orange on my own but now that they're on my table I like them a lot.

The psychologist I saw for 3 sessions last January was so weird. I'm thinking about this today because I've just had a weird moment of fridge logic.

She mistakenly thought my job was "social media influencer," because she didn't understand what I meant when I said I made marketing content. So we had this weird miscommunication for a while where I thought she understood and she thought she understood, but I hadn't explained it properly to her. She kept saying she wanted me to "quit social media," because it was hurting me (this was itself kind of odd, because my only social media vice is tumblr, where I blog about fictional robots and my garden). But I've just right now realised that she also thought I was making my living through social media.

I eventually did get her to understand what my job was, mostly because I couldn't figure out why she kept talking about the evils of social media and how I had to stop using it all the time. But in hindsight it's absolutely unhinged for a registered clinical psychologist to be like, "this person is coming to me for help with a clinically significant disorder so instead I'm going to tell them to quit their job."

If I'd lasted more than 3 sessions with her, I'm pretty sure I would have ended up reporting her to AHPRA eventually. I probably should have anyway, for how she pressured me to beg my doctor for benzos in every session and then said I wasn't trying to feel better when I didn't.

Tried a couple of my goth tomatoes this morning. They're undersized, which is likely my fault somehow, but they're so sweet! I love it when balcony tomatoes are sweet and jammy.
