I know it's been a while since I've written anything for Adler. Ever since the final Cold War Warzone Final cinematic outro, I just lost all motivation to write for Adler. It's just...idk if it's just me, but he seemed so out of character there. Sure, we can consider a lot of factors like loss of hope, exhaustion, MK Ultra taking a toll, etc, on his reactions to Stitch, but still. Adler just didn't feel like Adler there. He felt so different, so unlike him.

Now the second problem is that I've this WIP of him, and I really want to complete it. Of course, it mostly revolves around him and Bell. I'm not sure ig I should complete it and will it personally satisfy me or will it just shut that one part of my mind that's been screaming at me to complete the fic?

What do othet Adler fanfic writers feel about this?

Okay here are mine

Canon-divergent: I like to expand on all the "what ifs" and "what coulds", you know its just so much fun to play around with it.

Post-canon: idk if this comes under canon-divergent, but this is fun bec it's fun to think of all the "what would have happened" and continue a storyline

RPG: Okay, initially I was quite hesitant to write abt these, but now I like it (esp the Classic Rock RPF). Ngl its mostly self-shipping, but come on, it's nice to write out the scenarios I imagine in my head

Angsty, the painful throbbing heart with the usual themes of abandonment, death, religious guilt, emotional pain, and unresolved issues

And as for last, i think headcanons?

They stayed like that for a good fifteen minutes till Simon felt no more pain in his throat. His cheeks were soaked, his sight blurred, and his breathing ragged. He peered upwards, a sudden surge of sheer mortification and shame consuming him, his chest heaving painfully and shoulders shaking. But it melted away just as fast. Her eyes were gentle with pure adoration and solace. It was an odd side of vulnerability, something he’d never experienced before. She’d ripped him open to the barest of his bones with such blistering tenderness he was sure he’d wilt under it.

Everything around them came to a complete halt. It felt so intimate.
