My soul left my body this morning when I came downstairs with my son and realized I had not turned on the dishwasher. ALL THOSE BOTTLES AND STRAWS AND SNACK CONTAINERS UNWASHED. I have two children to get ready for school. Anyway I thought it might be a fun comic idea for this to happen to Loid. They probably don’t have dishwashers yet but he could have been so tired from a mission that he left all the dirty dishes in the sink and the next morning he freaks out. Not to worry because his angel wife washes everything in record time and they manage to get Anya to the bus just fine. And that’s when he realizes he’s in love <3

Yessssss!!! A gasligther enjoys manipulating their victims, they think of the gaslighted as inferior, and they do it for their own benefit. How does any of that describe what Shinichi is doing?

It hurts him to see Ran crying, he has said multiple times that he really wants to tell Ran what's really happening, he has full trust on her, he knows how strong and smart and brave she is and he loves her for that, and his whole motivation is to keep Ran safe.

Shinichi is NOT gaslighting Ran. Please stop taking a word that means a specific type of abuse where the perpetrator intentionally and repeatedly manipulates and undermines the victim's reality and autonomy and using it to mean...lying.

He's lying to her out of a misguided attempt to protect her. He is NOT gaslighting her.

Me before watching Kimi ni Todoke S3: OMG Thank you Netflix, I'm so happy, I really didn't want to read the manga this time!! Now I get to see all those cute moments everyone in the fandom keeps talking about, I'm sure they'll at least respect the more important parts, right?

After Martha gave Becky this very much needed advice, I'm really looking forward to Becky's interactions with Loid and Yor.

She is still a child, so I know that there's not going to be a BIG change, but I think it will be great for Becky to stop seeing Yor and other women as competition, and this arc might be the start of that change

She knew that no matter what had happened that year, her husband wasn't going to be satisfied, and she knew her house was not going to be safe for her or for her children. That event was every six months but she might have been afraid of that moment throughout the whole year... The more I think about her the more I hate that horrible man

Spy x Family Chapter 102: Healing

It was a very sad chapter, there's not much I can say about that, but I'll say that the panel that actually broke me and made me cry was this one:

That one hit hard.

Raise your hand if you have anxiety. Didn't this just hit home? And then, when she mentions that it must be because of an animal instinct, well, she was talking about fear, of course.

Fear's job is to keep us alive, to prevent us from doing something stupid, a mistake that could result in our demise. It raises the "DANGER" alarm whenever we face something unknown because what if that something is trying to kill you. But, what happens when everything looks like a threat? Could fear be an excuse for war? Could fear be enough cause to destroy others and ourselves?

One of the frequent topics of sxf is mental health and I'll say that, even though this chapter was so sad, it was also incredibly hopeful. I mean, look at Twilight, who is still young, who went through so much horror during war (just like Martha). The man suffers from PTSD and severe anxiety, for sure. Nevertheless, we see Martha, who was a young soldier like him, quietly drink her cup of tea, talking about difficult times with a six-year-old girl. Her life didn't turn out like she wanted, yet, she's smiling, and by the way she says things, the way she behaves and carries herself, it's evident to me that she has dealt with her demons and won the battle. It seems she has healed.

So, after reading this beautiful arc and specifically this chapter, I feel hopeful, not only for Twilight, but also for all the people whose anxiety feels like an unbeatable monster. Look at Martha realizing she still had so much to live for, look at her getting old, look at her be at peace. May that happen to Twilight too, may that happen to all of us.
