The talk I gave tonight was primarily about how babies, as well as young children, experience hyperconsciousness, something that is often considered one of the main reasons why children at these stages are ‘difficult’ to handle.
Kids man, they encompass some of the most phenomenal thought processes and it is all driven by the fact that this whole world is completely new to them. If you want to see abstract ideas constructed in a matter of seconds, talk to a child. Their grasp is unbelievable.
Even if you feel that children whine, cry, and scream too much… in considering how they’re in a world they had no prior concept of, and are subject to an uncontrollable amount of stimuli every waking moment…. I still believe they’re handling it all fairly well.
This conference made me realize how much of a passion I have for destigmatizing childhood behaviors. There’s a sort of ‘Ahh..’ moment that people come to when they see that children actually have reasons for everything they do, that they shouldn’t be viewed as underdeveloped ‘functioning’ adults but should instead be recognized as humans in a separate yet equally important stage of life.
I’ve also been doing some work in researching and writing about children as an oppressed class, I’m finding ways to incorporate my previous sentiments into that.

The best/funniest way they could respond to the backlash is to just replace crisp rat's voice lines entirely with Charles Martinet making his standard Mario gibberish noises and change nothing else.
Just play it completely straight, leave all the other dialogue exactly as-is
Peach: And so, brave heroes from beyond, I implore you to save our kingdom. You are the only ones who can.
Luigi: What? No... no, that's crazy, we're not heroes, we're plumbers! Tell her, Mario!
Mario: HEEPITTYBIPPITYBOPPITYBUNO
Luigi: You.. You don't really mean that, do you? You can't, not after everything that's happened!
Mario: WAHOO MAMMA MIA
*Mario straightens his hat and grits his teeth as the camera zooms in on his face*
Mario:
Mario: YIPPEE

What happened to Mewo
So I’ve seen a few theories on what happened to Mewo but I have a take on it that I haven’t seen yet
SPOILERS for Omori btw
So I think with Mewo being a black cat and Sunny having some difficulty telling his dreams from reality its totally possible he was up at night, maybe getting some water or a snack or something, wielding his knife because it makes him feel safe
and maybe he saw Mewo and in the darkness, the swishing tail of a black cat could easily be mistaken for the reaching tendrils of Something, especially if Mewo turns to look at him and Sunny sees a single shiny eye in the dark
I think its very possible Sunny would strike out at Mewo in fear, injuring the poor thing and possibly even severing her tail since tail imagery seems pretty prominent, Mewo might have hidden away as injured cats tend to do and its possible the injury got seriously infected and Mewo had to be put down
Mewo being very very bad in the black space sequence could be a rationalization to mask the guilt
Anyway that’s my take, the idea of Sunny outright killing Mewo always seemed a bit extreme but being directly, albeit accidentally, responsible in a less extreme way seems like a good compromise and might explain Mewo’s presence in headspace

Ok finished Demon Slayer and what I want to know most is just,
Why did Zenitsu get struck by lightning??
like I know he was up a tree and all but what did that even do? what narrative purpose did that serve? Was it literally just to explain why his hair is yellow??? did we really need an explanation for why a character in an anime has an unusual hair color? its anime. I did not even think to question it but also its not like he’s the only one, Rengoku has two tone hair and its very clearly genetic
Was it some kind of symbolism or irony since he’s a thunder breathing user? was it just to show how bad his life sucks or like, that he has terrible luck or something because tbh surviving a lightning strike seems pretty lucky actually. he doesn’t even have any lasting damage or even a scar
and listen don’t get me wrong I’m not saying this is a bad thing, I don’t dislike it in fact I kind of love that Zenitsu being struck by lightning is just, something that happened. and if its literally just because the author thought that it would be cool then like, yeah it is.
It just seems like such a dramatic thing to happen just for a small character detail

Here’s a fun idea/headcanon!
What if Alberto’s mother was killed by someone in Portorosso, she managed to get far enough away that they never discovered her body but there was blood/scales/torn fins, ect. to make the local news and become a documented incident
So imagine Alberto is aware of this fact but absolutely does not want to know anything else about it
because after coming to love and care for the people of Portorosso he can’t stand the idea that someone he sees and talks with every day might have been the one to kill his mother
And there’s a part of him deep down that is terrified that it might have been Massimo

Listen, Alberto would love ballet.
Like you can jump that high? That far?? On land??? Once he sees that it's over, he's hooked.
Imagine Massimo signing him up for lessons in a little local studio and he just constantly practices wherever and whenever he can
Imagine Alberto doing pirouettes in the rain and letting the tip of his tail drag along the ground to send water spraying out like a living sprinkler
When Luca and Giulia return for the summer he shows off what he's learned and greets them with the biggest leap he can, spinning and hopping and twirling around them excitedly
He starts practicing his lifts (and eventually throws) on Giulia with like no warning at all, which she pretends to be annoyed about (she loves it and the one day he doesn't do it she sulks all throughout dinner while Massimo is left shaking his head at his ridiculous children)
