This! In fact, I bet anytime the fandom complains about ash being an asshole, you can probably timestamp right before the moment when they complained of chronic pain.

I wonder how many of these complainers are able bodied…

Reminder for people wanting to drag Ashton: those conversations were happening while he had 2 levels of Exhaustion, which Taliesin has repeatedly said gives Ashton a migraine. So, you know, they're not at their kindest or most thoughtful state.

I'm not saying Ashton would suddenly change their mind if that weren't the case, but I do think they'd be less prickly and more willing to hear the other's points if he wasn’t fighting through so much pain just to be present in the conversation.

This is also why Ashton removed himself from the conversation. They did not want to fight with any of the others and knew they were cranky and lacking filter enough that it was going to happen if they stuck around. So Ashton pulled out, knowing that more conversation later is possible/likely and that he'll probably be in better shape to talk reasonably then.
