It's our sorta annual pride sale! yay! So if you feel like supporting a queer owned business and needing some spooky summerween accessories maybe check us out! Thanks.
This sale applies to both the main shop and Etsy shop.
The main shop has everything at 25% off, discount applies at checkout.
For the Etsy shop, only select items are included in the sale.
Sale ends June 13th.
*why end the sale so early you may ask? well I get to deal with jury duty half of this month and half of next month...not just any jury duty mind you... district court jury duty. so if you want to help a queer owned business and help a gal out with transportation costs so I can haul my butt to the district court in the next city over for four weeks that would be grand!*

Lucky Scavenger Brooch ll
I've always thought that gifts scavenged are the most lucky, especially from our feathery corvidae friends. These brooches were in the spirit of odd bits and scraps put together to make a lucky token of sorts.

Dark Burnett Choker
This choker is very loosely inspired by neck wear seen in portraiture from the rococo period. The theme of this particular piece is "The Secret Garden" in particular the 1993 film version which we can all agree is the most superior adaptation ever made.
Made from striped cotton fabric, cotton backing fabric, antique lace, antique eyelet lace, antique trim, metal rose stamp, jet glass dangle, and silk ribbon.

Today's WIP~
I swear I've been working on stuff, this for example is a choker I mostly finished today. I dunno why I decided to make a choker but I did, its not my usual vibe. It'll be listed with the rest sometime at the end of this month.

Current WIP~
I promise I am working on projects for the shop, it's just they are a bit bigger and more time consuming than what I normally make.
This current project for instance is going to *eventually* be a bag. But we have a long way to go yet .

Today's WIP~
Behold yet another batwing jabot in a beautiful creamy white color with antique insertion lace. The last one I made sold and I've noticed its post is getting lots of attention, so I made another one. I might make a matching one in black too...idk yet.
I'll be listing this one sometime next month.

This may be foolish of me, but I was looking at the spirits Necktie, and now I'm just wondering, if I buy one, how do I wear it? Adjust it tight and leave both ends out like a bow? Or just put it on exactly as styled on the mannequin? Is it adjustable? Help a modern lass without a clue please
Hiya, thank you so much for asking.
So I'm assuming you're talking about the Somber Spirits Necktie, and I'm happy to help explain this weird little creation of mine. This particular necktie is inspired by a necktie featured in a 1860's Godey's Lady Book. I'm including the picture just so you get an idea of how is *can* be worn. But keep in mind on my version... the ends are a little longer and wears more like a tie rather than a bow like the original.
Tumblr media
Now I think the original is meant to be tied into place as your question assumes, but I felt that would damage the silk fabric over time and/or be very slippery to tie so I got a little creative. The cross over part of the necktie is actually held into place by snaps (see pictures below) sorry about the really bad lighting, but you should be able to see the snaps in question. I made it look like the necktie was in a tied position but it is an ~illusion~.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now as for how to wear the necktie I'd recommend wearing it like on the mannequin. If you need styling ideas I have a few pictures with similar examples on how this style of necktie was worn in the 19th century that I am happy to share.
As for the necktie appearing looser on the mannequin it should be noted that Percy my mannequin is a petite US woman's size 6 ... so depending on your own personal size, don't compare how things would look on yourself by comparing to Percy the mannequin if you're bigger then a size 6.
This necktie can accommodates a neck up to 19 inch in circumference. So it depends on your own neck measurement if this necktie is too big, too small or just right. I'd recommend taking your neck measurement and decide where on that scale you are purchasing.
Which brings us to the adjust-ability question. This item isn't really adjustable, or I should say I didn't design it to be adjustable. Technically if you know how to sew you could fiddle with the snap placement and resew them to make the necktie a bit tighter(or looser) if need be, but you'd have to know how to sew in tight small spaces and not destroy the silk dupioni while you're doing it. Which take it from me, ain't easy. This necktie is 80% hand sewn and it gave me a literal migraine while sewing it... so its not for the faint of heart but not impossible.
I hope my rambling answered your questions, feel free to ask me for more clarification if you need it. I'm always happy to help :)
