Later that day, Frisk tiptoed west of Snowdin. Of course, the guard dogs saw them fleeing through the snow and ended up chasing them out of pure playfulness. Frisk found it deep within their soul to resist playing with the guard dogs barking and running around them. They politely denied their requests and trudged forward.

After escaping Snowdrake’s ice puns they eventually reached their goal- Sans’s sentry station. The snuck behind it and started picking up ketchup, relish and mustard bottles, identifying them by smell. Papyrus told them that the bottles Sans had weren’t see-through, so Frisk took out an empty ketchup bottle and poured mustard into it, a ketchup bottle and replaced it with a ketchup bottle full of relish, and a relish bottle and filled it with mustard.  Frisk worked quickly and hoped they wouldn’t be caught switching the condiments, shaking with excited amusement.

Frisk stood there with their lips pressed together into a slowly-forming pout. Their arms crossed at Sans’s laughter, standing sorta like Toriel did when they found that the human had purposely covered the kitchen in flour. Their lips eventually twitched into a smile.

“You got me.” Frisk relented with a giggle, taking another bite of the delicious candy bar. Who cares if they had full hp- it was too tasty, “Youh beher wa-ch your back forfff-phat, I’mph carlling war!” they covered their mouth before any chocolate fell out.

They swallowed and ran off with giddy slightly evil laughter, plans for pranks already forming in their head.

Of course, Frisk couldn’t see the relief on Gaster’s face, and so had no idea what he felt about that. With their adrenaline calmed down, they had a little trouble deciphering the movements just by the sound of the electricity and mechanics in the air, and tapped their feet against the ground a few times as he ‘spoke’.

“... Oh, that’s nice of you, Gaster! Thanks!” They said with a grin, bouncing on their feet a bit and curling up their fists in front of them. They were excited!

So he has kids too? Well, Gaster sounded kinda worried about Frisk not having a place to stay, so Frisk supposed they could ask the other monsters about that. They wondered how the other monsters treated a human in this timeline where Chara existed…

“Oh, I usually just stay at whoever will let me in! Can I stay at your house for tonight? I have money-well, you’re the royal scientist I dunno if you need money.” They asked. If that didn’t work, they wouldn’t mind just checking into an inn.
