Black Plastic is a 150-page karaoke cyber-thriller illustrated by @niccillustrates. It's a project I've been picking away at for a long time now, even adapting the first vignette I ever wrote for one of the scenes.

Toronto. 20XX. Gigi and Tokui are two connectors who have just stolen incriminating data from a major corporation – strictly for their own personal gain. Now on the run from a pair of assassins, Gigi and Tokui hole up in Black Plastic, a 16-storey monolith of a building devoted entirely to karaoke.

Black Plastic spies on a full chorus of karaoke-goers alongside Gigi and Tokui, including a group of party girls with a shocking secret, a college boy who may or may not have been kidnapped, rival karaoke gangs, a bullied girl who daydreams of being abducted by aliens, and an executive from the corporation itself, in the middle of making a deal the world will have no turning back from.

Presented by WildStar Press, the latest original graphic novel written by Josh Tierney (Iris Complex, World Piece, Spera, Warm Blood) and drawn by Nicci Busse (in her book-length debut) is the world’s first karaoke cyber-thriller. Come sing with us.
