The rookie housewife story

I know this has been on Tumblr before but never find it when I try. Here’s the link to the story where Teuvo calls Sebastian Aho his housewife. The word is lifted to the headline (like any click hungry journalist would!) (Ilta-Sanomat, in Finnish, October 11, 2016)

My translation of the first part of the article:

“The hierarchy is clear off the ice. Teuvo Teräväinen is the master of the new rented apartment and Sebastian Aho is his humble roommate.

The age difference between the new Finnish duo of the Carolina Hurricanes is only three years but rookies stay in their place in the NHL outside the rink.

“Sepe stays in my apartment for a while at least in the beginning and works as my housewife. He gets to do the dishes and clean,” Teuvo chuckles.

Sebastian, who starts his first season in the NHL, is fine with the roles. Teräväinen has his stanley cup ring, Aho has yet done nothing on the NHL ice.

“Certain things fall certain way for a young player. It’s fine. That’s how it should be. One day I won’t be the youngest of the team anymore,” Aho says.

“I do the chores as a thank you for getting to stay with Teukka. It’s nicer than staying in a hotel.”
