Fairy tales

Ludovic and his sensitive soul, dreaming of true love. Ballet is such a beautiful and demanding art form. Him being a ballet dancer in a modern setting was a perfect match, with his personality, his sensibility and dedication.

I took a lot of inspiration from the interior of the Palace of Versailles for the background.

Ludovic was always trying to do good. He was sentenced to exile after speaking up about dreaming of the demise of his community and having to change their ways and cease their misdeeds.

His dreams later came true.

Ludovic has been giving me food for thought with where his character development is going behind the curtains. It was interesting to paint these different textures.

I've always loved El Greco's paintings. His Saint Francis Receiving the Stigmata was perfect to riff on as Ludovic's character got inspiration from both the feel of his paintings and moments from the life of St Francis.
