So I've been doing a lot of thinking and researching on how I will portray the story of Hades and Persephone in my upcoming fic.

There are many takes on the myths, many interpretations and my own opinions and I want to utilize all that from the romantic to the problematic and I'll also use different inspirations I got from different media on how I'll write the characters.

The main thing I wanna do is to not make Demeter the villain cause she isn't honestly. But after my research I can see why she is portrayed as such, she's an easy target and every story needs an antagonist and she's perfect for it and a story about a grieving mother is one that surely will tug on some heartstrings but everyone knows the feeling of having an overbearing mother or mother-in-law (i would know cause i have one) and that is relatable, that's why it's used a lot, that's how stories work.

Other than that though there is one little part in the myth that not a lot of people talk about and this moment destroyed Demeter's character for me cause she is such a hypocrite in this.

So basically Demeter requested Persephone to be back to her but Zeus declined because of the whole arranged marriage thing he talked to Hades about without Demeter's consent. I would be pissed too so I have no problem with Demeter's decision to essentially bring an internal winter. And during this time Demeter turned herself into an old woman and was taken in by this couple and due to this act of kindness Demeter decided to give them a gift. The couple had a child, his name is Demophoon. Demeter basically became the child's babysitter of some sort and every night she would burn the baby. She's burning the baby's mortality with a special fire to make him immortal. That's her gift to the couple, the problem is she did this without telling the parents so when the mother of the child caught Demeter burning her baby she freaked out obviously and Demeter had the audacity to be mad at her for freaking out. Like the Hypocrisy on this woman.

So yeah, Demeter may not be a villain in my fic but she sure as hell is gonna be a problem.

Another thing, I want to focus on Hades and Persephone being equals. That is what made them so appealing to me. Like yeah Persephone is a badass and so is Hades. Let's not make it so that one is non deadly than the other cause they both are.

I do believe the Fruity Femme Twink Tristan those people love so much goes in tandem with his ship with Lancelot which in my opinion still makes no sense to me. I don't even wanna talk about how they view my boy Lancelot it'll just make me mad. Like they just have to hyper feminize Tristan cause he's apparently the "girl" in the relationship... *Sigh* so stupid.

It low-key makes me feel so sad that Tristan fans don't really know Tristan, I'm sorry but Tristan is more than a "fruity feminine Twink" leave that boy alone

So... Just wanna put this out there.

I'm planning on writing a Hades and Persephone retelling.

This may just be the biggest writing project I ever decided on pursuing but I love Greek Mythology so I believe it's only fitting for me to write something.

I may not just stop there. I might take on Eros and Psyche or even Orpheus and Eurydice in the future.

UPDATE

I just finished rewriting the first Arc of my FT Next Gen fic.

There are no major changes in this. I just made a few adjustments. As for the next arc, which is the Magnolia Harvest Festival arc or The Battle of Fairy Tail Arc, there will be several changes, but nothing too big. The plot won't be affected by any of the changes I'll be making.

In that arc, I made the mistake of introducing a lot of characters way too soon, and I didn't even manage to show them properly as characters because of that. In my mind, this was the one event that everyone in the guild was coming back home to, which it is, but that doesn't mean I have to introduce everybody.

So, I'll be working on that next. I'll post another update once I'm done.

To anyone curious here's the list of characters that have shown up thus far

Greige, Reiki, Nasha (They're the main squad) Alice Finley (She's an OC and part of the main squad) Yajee and Julta (they're the ones who showed up the most besides the main four) Damon (he's in one chapter, but he'll be my go-to guy to frequently show up in conversations since he works at the bar) Rin Fullbuster (he's in one chapter, only a couple of lines) Nova Dreyar (she's in two chapters, only a couple of lines) Madison (she's in one chapter, but she dropped some pretty important lore)

I Miss Anne and Nasiens

You might be asking... Winter tf you mean they're literally right there.

What I mean is I miss them

This aura, this energy they exude... I miss that.

Don't get me wrong, I understand they've undergone some character development and they've also got some moments after the time skip which is great. I love it but... after Percy came back, I felt a disturbance in the air.

I felt like they're now constantly attached to his hip. I'm saying this as a day 1 Persiens shipper and I don't mind Anne and Percy together either and it's not a complaint per se I giggle and scream seeing those tiny moments but a part of me fear that they might be reduced to just that. Percy's love interest. And I hate for that to happen cause I love these two.

As individuals they have so much going on for them besides being in love with Percy. Nasiens has this whole thing with his found identity and Anne has yet to show us everything she got and I hope OH GOD I hope and pray that we get to see that from them.

I want Anne to raise her rapier and assert her dominance again. I want Nasiens to work his mind and magic to shock his opponents and comrades again.

I know it's a bit early to judge this whole thing but just by seeing only a couple of chapters so far I can already taste it and I hope I'm wrong.
