I guess I need to speak it out loud. Susannah and Laurel didn’t solve their situationship (and trust me that was MORE than friendship and def not fully platonic sisterhood assumed by fans) what later affected and partially ruined the relationships between their children. Basically, Jon articulated it pretty good:
There are always three people in our marriage.
It is not normal for a mother to be part of a relationship between a couple. It is not normal for a child to become the third partner in a relationship. It is also not normal for a sibling to take this position. And even more, it's not a friend's business to become the third part of the relationships, even if they are the best. Why? Because it slowly but surely breaks down the couple. If it's not a consensual polyamorous relationship, it's bullshit. Period. This unsolved situationship ruined all the children involved and the relationships between them. It was not awful Jeremiah or awful Conrad or awful Belly. It was bad parents who miserably failed (the men too obviously). Susannah and Laurel both projected themselves on Belly and Conrad. When that didn't work, everything fell apart. Family dynamics, especially artificially created ones, must remain so.
Laurel and Sussannah ruined Belly grooming her to think she will end up with Conrad like that’s the only path she can have.
Laurel and Susannah ruined Conrad coddling him, shielding him and always making him a priority.
Laurel and Susannah ruined Jeremiah always prioritising Conrad over him (slightly or not) and never giving him even a single chance (again, obviously or less).
And, what’s more important, they ruined two actual siblings and their relationships. These relationships are the main victim here. Because there is no way when one of them will be happy in this «family» now. It will haunt them till their very last breath. And nothing can be be changed fundamentally right now in the book (where, besides, I think Belly and Conrad would realistically end up having a breakup one day but that’s a topic for another discussion). However, it can (and must) be changed in the show. After all of that, both Conrad and Jeremiah should choose each other not at the cost of the feelings of one of them. While Belly must choose herself. That’s it.

Love you Susannah and her love to children
But I hated that she was asking and begging belly to baby her grown ass child like she’s some kind of babysitter. “Don’t let him push you away”, so Belly has to run after Conrad all her life and be with him whenever it’s comfortable for him, but when it’s not she should accept it and wait in the corner for Conrad and go back to him again when he feels like it? Instead maybe talk to your child, send him to therapy, actually explain what’s love and how it should be, ask him does he truly love Belly and if he does explain that it’s not okay to hurt people you love no matter how you feel
Also, I don’t like how she just ignored Jeremiah’s feelings toward Belly. The way she said “I knew it I knew it.” Maybe ask them how do they feel about it cause did they think about Jeremiah and the fact that he’s been dating Belly already? Why doesn’t she lecture Conrad that it’s not okay to be with Belly in that moment cause she was with Jeremiah already

house of the dragon's biggest flaw is its reluctance to address race, alongside gender and class, as a characteristic which socially stratifies individuals.
this is in part due to the conceptions of race in a song of ice and fire differing from the real world; the velaryons are black to the audience but valyrian in westeros, creating a dissonance between presentation and perception that is only exacerbated by the velaryons' secondary or even subordinate relation to white targaryens.
mysaria is another character whose race was altered—she is a lyseni in fire & blood but from yi ti in house of the dragon—and while her story does emphasize her experience as a woman, immigrant, and member of the lower class, her race is secondary to these qualities and not ever referenced.
criston is perhaps the only character whose race is explicitly addressed throughout house of the dragon—the dornish are the largest racial minority in westeros—but the portrayal of his race lacks any purposeful consideration or depth beyond labeling him as an outsider.
house of the dragon's ignorance toward race manifests most egregiously in the decision to merge the stories of rhaena and nettles, two black girls, who in fire & blood, had no similarities beyond a somewhat unconventional relationship to their dragons.
in creating a "colorblind" story, house of the dragon does a disservice to its characters of color; the writers have demonstrated their skill and mindfulness in crafting the stories of characters like daemon and alicent, making their apathy towards laena, baela, etc., glaringly obvious.
that is not to say i expected the main characters of an adaptation of the dance to be the velaryons (though, now that i am thinking about it, a version of the dance entirely from corlys's perspective as someone who lived through the entire conflict could be very cool), but the writers should have considered the implications of their adaptational choices more while constructing their vision of the story.

They really ruined all the shows potential when they made only 3 characters important, now they have to come up with ridiculous plots instead of writing an ensemble show like GOT was. And everyone who is not main will get 15-20 minutes of screentime again, the show is full of wasted underwritten characters. Ryan is the dumbest man alive
And it's funny that since incompetent people write the script, even after giving the characters a huge amount of screen time, they couldn't make them interesting. Rhaenyra has almost two hours of screen time in the second season, which is the running time of the whole movie, but she has remained flat and dull.
