What are your design inspirations for the magical girl AU?

Oooh well, I had become more interested in the world of magical girls in the last few years, and specifically I thought ISAT would really suit an AU like that, especially if I could tie it into the forgotten country.

For main inspirations, shows like Toyko Mew Mew, and Sailor Moon (which I've only seen a bit of) caught my eye. I plan on watching more of them to familiarise myself with them, and cause I genuinely enjoy the whole thing of sparkly girls being heroes.

Other magical girl adjacent shows for inspiration were Winx Club and Steven Universe, which often have more unique magical powers and power sources other than elemental powers.

For fashion inspiration, I looked to many types of lolita fashion and subcategories, and a lot of fantasy/dnd or ttrpg chaarcter designs, which already fits into ISAT's worldbuilding nicely. :)

Other miscellaneous inspirations for designs were the dark world forms from Deltarune, and how the characters would change colour palettes, gave me the idea to add colour to Siffrin and Co when they transform.

my take on mirabelle's relationship with isabeau and siffrin is, while i refuse to directly label it as queerplatonic since i feel that would be skirting around mirabelle's explicit distaste for being in a relationship and it is a bit different from that, her friendships with them are inherently queer and it's weirder to just completely ignore that. insertdisc5 did call mirabelle and siffrin "budding moirails," which in the context of the term's source is a relationship that is specifically not solely platonic, so i feel that's worth considering. she's isafrin's third who isn't actually dating either of them in any capacity but is still intrinsically a part of their lives... they're best friends and feelings buddies
