Rusakiu Rosette, The Rose Witch

During the Witch Hunts, there was a woman who was innocent of all charges aside from the 'crime' of having magic which was stupidly believed to be of demonic origin (it isn't). That woman was Rusakiu's mother, and her death via lynching (or burnt at the stake, either works) set off a chain reaction of events that would change the world as they knew it. Rusakiu went on a massacre; a genocidal rampage against all humans, even killing royalty at one point, which only made the problem of what was happening at the time even worse to the point most of human society got on board to outlaw every kind of magic, forever. This would force all magical beings, not just magi, to be forced into hiding.

But Rusakiu had lost all reason to care; all she cared for now was the blood being spilled and the terror she was inflicting on the populace. It was enough terror to cause widespread nightmares, enough to get the attention of the (very new at the time) Guardian of Dreams. They eventually met and fought, both losing something in the process, and Rusakiu fled far before being forced into an eternal sleep because of what she took from the Guardian. Centuries later, she wakes with the same rage still inside her...

So, this is what my art actually looks like. I like using pencil and paper and have been doing so for... probably 10+ years? Maybe 11 or 12, I lose track. Rusakiu is a character I have had for 8-9 years (probably) and I do have proof in the form of the original drawing I did of her but I ain't showing that because my old art is embarrassing to look at for me and also do not want that on the internet unless I really have to post it for whatever reason. I've gone back to do redesigns of my characters at times to give them a better look than whatever I did before, and Rusakiu was one that... kinda blindsided me in how much she was demanding to be done once I got the drive to work on it.

I, uhh... will technically thank Apple and her Rose Knights stuff for basically making me think, "Huh, maybe I should work on the one rose-themed character I have," and then Rusakiu kinda just demanded to be drawn. Yay. I don't think she would get along in any sense with that cast, though. Granted, I am still reworking her personality a little bit (namely her speech, that needs to be fixed) so... eh? Maybe I'll have a better idea once I write her properly after this, but that is a future me problem.

The lore I've included in this, I kept kinda vague and left out some details because I do worry I might say something and then I gotta contradict myself because I've decided to do a different thing instead but... this should still remain accurate after whatever lore changes I make. I didn't even mention what happens when she wakes as well as why she wakes up and... you know. Other stuff. Plus the significance of her last name in my world.

So this is Nihobi. Or more, something close enough to Nihobi Abrun that I'm happy with it. The dress mostly resembles what I did draw for her, but I couldn't really get that kind of dress in a sleeveless format, unfortunately. The background is Harv's camp thing, right corner. But it looks close enough to the sort of forest-y area Feviyu (the place she moves to at the beginning of her story) is, so yeah.

I did consider maybe trying to take the pic with a setup close to what her shop would be, but ran into issues with not having the right things I needed for that so I went for this instead. Either way, I love her. ❤️

The amulet was a bit of a difficult thing to try to simplify, but I did my best. It does remind me to figure out a proper design for that one day, but this works well for now. And the white lily isn't actually a part of her official design, but it is there for symbolism because it suits her far too well.

And yeah, Nihobi is my original character.

Anyway... If anyone wants the dress, let me know, and I'll put up the code as soon as I can.

There is part of me very tempted to post more often. Granted, I wouldn't really want to force myself to stick to a schedule because I will throw a fit if I have to worry about one extra thing on top of everything else. But anyway, I should elaborate on what I'd want to post. There's two (technically three) things, but I'll start with this one.

Soooo I did a thing in ACNH recently. About a few years ago, I messed around a lot with Pro Designs, and I made outfits that I really liked! I did post pics elsewhere, but like... eh. I know my designs aren't really up there with the people who go crazy and ridiculously detailed with this stuff. But I still think my stuff is cool regardless, especially since I was bitten by the design bug (ha) and I made something new a few days ago! The newest design is actually based off of one of my characters, and I took a special pic with my in-game avatar basically dressed as my special original character! I still feel giddy seeing my character walking around, even if it's not actually her. But like, it's close enough for me!

Regardless, I think I do kinda want start sharing my designs again. I made other good ones too, but I think trying to make my characters in ACNH could be a really fun exercise.

Now, for the other thing.

I... I might want to potentially start writing stuff to post here. But like, I know I get distracted a lot and the best chance for me to write is when I'm at my laptop. Phone does help in terms of me rambling to myself to figure out characters or world-building and shit (or more, writing it down as a lot of it happens in my brain), but like

And I also want to ramble more in general! And scream into the void even if no-one hears me! Because fuck it, at this point. At this moment in time, I do not have a single follower. I did get an ask, which is awesome, but there is no-one specifically following me for anything. Which means at this moment, there are no expectations. I can do anything. ... BUT LIKE

WHAT SPECIFICALLY???? THERE ARE TOO MANY AVENUES BECAUSE I HAVE TOO MANY CHARACTERS I HAVE OVER 200 CHARACTERS AND I HAVE PROOF

... Anyway, we'll see what happens. Maybe I throw a curveball instead and make everyone (really no-one, but it's the idea that matters) listen to the majesty that is the Etrian Odyssey OST. Across all the games. Or the Stratum Shift album, either works. Maybe I'll do both! A writing thing and a music rec! Genius! ... If I actually get off my lazy ass and do it. I do have an idea for a scene I could write with a music rec attached, but there will be so much missing context. ... Will this be a 'fuck it, we ball' moment? ... We'll see.

Silly question how the heck do you make super long asks like I barely manage to write two phrases and that's it you write an essay please reveal your secrets

Ahem. To treat this question more seriously, I think it partially (at least subconsciously) stems from the fact that I very much do not like people who DON'T EXPLAIN THEIR SHIT WHEN THE SITUATION DEMANDS IT.

Like, how do you expect me to do this task you want me to do if you're not gonna elaborate on all the details in the slightest?? That kinda thing.

Also, language is something that can confuse a lot of people at times. Through no fault of their own as there are words used in a particular way that leave ambiguity, which can work for writing, but uh... Not in a serious school / work situation.

This means that usually when I try to explain a story, I want someone to understand most parts of it. AKA, bits of exposition and occasional backtracking that come with the story even if I simplify it to the most important bits. And when I try to explain something to someone or ask a question, I try to be as clear as possible. Sometimes. (I also try to cut straight to the point to avoid wasting time, but sometimes you gotta add a part 2.) Other days, people thrive on ambiguity, so it's a case by case deal.

Other than that, the words sort of come naturally to me. At least if it's a written format, as such a thing helps me collect my thoughts enough to put them down more eloquently than I could if I spoke it. I've been told that I'm apparently too quick (in terms of thinking mainly) for other people at times, so... whoops.

Ultimately, it's probably an autism thing, but whatever. I don't care. Funnily enough, I used to hate writing essays back in high school. And yet when I sat my ass down to do them, I pretty much got it all done soon after that.

And on that note, another thing for why I end up writing a lot is because sometimes a thought comes with bonus ideas / thinking. Like, I'm currently recollecting about how I apparently have an amazing memory with words (I did a test with it once and got much higher than I expected), which I think directly links back into my writing in a sense. And yes, I write. I really should write more for my stories. They do need to be told one day.

To boil it down on how I write long asks (though I could absolutely write much longer in my opinion but avoid doing so for the sake of Apple's sanity), I lay out my thoughts mostly as they are, and include a few theories here and here or things I've figured out from observation. Because just one question could be asked a lot of different ways, about different aspects of a certain subject. ... I also just realised you could technically call what I'm doing the 'scientific method' in the weirdest way.

I hope this helps you understand me a bit more, Librarian. And yes, I am probably gonna be calling you that because I do not see a way to appropriately shorten your username into a nickname to easily call you by. I can't exactly call you 'Undertale' or 'Omori' or even some weird amalgamation (ha) of the two. Moriden? Undori? (Dandori, no, don't mention Pikmin) Eromi? PianoTale? (That's a joke, it doesn't work as a nickname. ... gods I hope there isn't an AU with this name, this will become very awkward otherwise.)

Don't feel pressured to provide an alternative name if you don't want to. If you want me to refer to you with your full username, let me know, and I will do my best. (And probably edit this according if necessary.) But if you're happy with Librarian, coolio.

P.S: I am swiftly coming to realise HOW FINICKY THIS DAMN APP IS WITH MY TYPING AND TRYING TO BE FANCY HERE AND THERE. Lesson learnt, do elaborate answers for asks on my goddamn laptop next time.

I don't fucking care if this is my first post when I'm supposed to simply be lurking and stuff, but I am still proud of my first serious painting thing. I could give you the context / idea behind it and also who this character is (hint: she's one of my own), but that's if people actually wanna hear me ramble about my characters, world, lore and shit.
