Bone Divination (Osteomancy) is an ancient practice of fortune telling used throughout many cultures. It’s important to find personal pieces that you deeply connect with.
List of objects commonly used in Bone Divination sets: - Old Coins - Crystals and Stones - Dice - Seashells - Animal Claws - Small animal Jaw bone - Animal feet - Nuts - Seed Pods - Skeleton Keys - Beads made of glass, wood, animal horn or bone - Metal Charms - Personal Jewelry such as rings or pendants - Any items that hold a personal meaning for you
Taking care of your divination set: - Regularly cleanse your pieces with White Sage - Keep them with you during the day to form a deep bond with the pieces - If unable to keep them near during the day, keep close to you at night - I find that most pieces like to rest on natural surfaces- wood, moss, etc - Charge them under the Full Moon when possible, especially crystals or stones - Meditate with the pieces and listen to what they have to say - Occasionally bury the bones lightly in an indoor flowerpot for a short time (or outside in the garden if not raining). Bones tend to like being in the ground. It allows them to rest.

As dark as the most fruitful soil, the Mother-Goddess Mokoš is the most adored and worshipped goddess of the old Slavs. She is the wet earth and the burning Sun, bringing life to the Earth and caring for her children. Like all mothers, she received the highest respect and adoration from all people, for motherhood was recognised as the most important role in the society. To love the Earth is to love your Mother, and she will care for you in return.

Hello! I just recently found you r blog, so if have already answered a question like this, sorry ahead of time-. Anyway I'm kind of new to witchcraft stuff, and I just recently found Hellenic witchy stuff, and it clicked with me, but Like how do I go about doing stuff, like with the gods, how do I form a relationship? Or get in contact with them? (I honestly feel like I need all the advice I can get-)
Hi there!
So first off I want to start by saying that I am of the opinion that Hellenic worship and witchcraft should be separate. What I mean by this is that in my own personal faith, my witchcraft practice does not involve the deities I worship, or vice versa. This is because I am a reconstructionist, and in Ancient Greece witchcraft was rarely if ever used in combination with the way the Greeks worshiped the Theoi. That being said there are plenty of others who do combine the two and that is totally fine! Just not my personal way.
Now I’m gonna throw a bunch of links at you of helpful posts for you!
Here you can find a list of links I have gathered to other posts and articles that are useful to someone coming into the Hellenic path, and they range from websites with tons of information to posts by other people on tumblr about historical practices and modern day ones as well. It’s definitely worth looking through!
All of the following links are things I have written myself that you can peruse through as well! The book list page is very useful and has a list of books relating to Hellenic Polytheism, both modern practices and ancient ones, as well as historical texts, Classics, and mythology references. The bolded links I think would be especially helpful for you!

The best way to connect with any deity is the same way you would make any new friend; Conversation, learning about them, and spending quality time with them! This means learning about the deities that interest you, making offerings, praying, doing devotional activities for them, etc.
Next are links to posts I have written that will help you with the Witchy part of this equation.

Aside from that is one more link that would really help you, since you’re new to all of this and trying to form your path. The nice (and tough) thing about witchcraft and any polytheistic approach is that there are as many different ways to practice as there are witches who practice. It is entirely tailored to you, and you have to find the interests that appeal to you and learn how to combine them. Especially for you, who is looking for a path that involves both witchcraft and the Theoi, it’s a long, slow learning process that can be a lot of fun and VERY rewarding if you put the work into it!
Advice on Finding Your Own Path
Best of luck to you darling, and if you have any other questions or need help with anything at all, stop on back and let me know, I’d be happy to help!
