Deity of the Week- Hermes
Deity of the Week- Hermes
“I sing of Hermes Kyllenios (of Mt Kyllene), Argeiphontes (the Slayer of Argus), lord of Kyllene (Cyllene) and Arkadia rich in flocks, luck-bringing (eriones) messenger of the deathless gods (angelos athanaton). He was born of Maia, the daughter of Atlas, when she had made with Zeus,–a shy goddess she. Ever she avoided the throng of the blessed gods and lived in a shadowy cave, and there Kronion [Zeus] used to lie with the rich-tressed Nymphe at dead of night, while white-armed Hera lay bound in sweet sleep: and neither deathless god nor mortal man knew it. And so hail to you, Son of Zeus and Maia; with you I have begun: now I will turn to another song! Hail, Hermes, giver of grace (kharidotes), guide (diaktoros), and giver of good things (dotor eaon)!”- Homeric Hymn to Hermes
Hermes is the son of Zeus and his nymph mother, Maia, born from their love. He is the personal messenger to his father, and also to Hades. Classically, he is depicted as a young man both attractive and athletic, or as an older man with a beard. His most famous myth is the one where upon his birth, he creeps from his cradle and travels to where his brother Apollon holds his oxen and makes off with them. He typically shown wearing winged boots or sandles while holding a caduceus.
God of:
Hermes is a god of many attributes. His most common association is him as a trickster god, or a messenger god. While both are accurate and true, his associates are far more encompassing than that:
Animal husbandry
Roads and travel
Hospitality
Diplomacy
Trade
coins
Thievery
Language
Writing
luck
Athletic contests
Astronomy and astrology
Boundries
Guide of the dead
Magic
And so much more. No God has only one facet, and to limit them in such a way is to deign them what they truly are.
Correspondences:
Plants-
Crocus- a beautiful purple flowering plant
Strawberry trees
I would also argue any plant that can be associated with death or being laid to rest can also be associated with him, as he is a guide to the underworld and is one of the only beings able to freely pass between the land of the dead and the living.
Animals-
Cattle/oxen
Turtles/tortoise
Hawks
Any bird of omens
Rooster/cock
Rams
Hares
Snakes
Guard dogs
Occupations-
Some gods are the patrons of specific jobs, job fields and hobbies. A few for Hermes are
Bike messenger
Mail person/postal worker
Diviners
Mediums
Magicians/illusionists
Merchant
Hospitality workers
Hotel and inn keepers
Travel guides
Veterinarians and Vet Techs
Animal breeders
Herdsmen/cowboys/etc
Funeral directors
Diplomats
Bankers/bank tellers
Donation center workers
and so many more. And while I wouldn’t technically consider thievery an occupation, some might. In which cause he is also the god of professional thieves.
Colors-
Red
Purple
Silver
Gold
Copper
Most colors you would associated with trade, merchants, coin, plushness, etc.(SPG)
Black(UPG)
Grey(UPG)
White(UPG)
Most colors that can be associated with death or passing can be associated with him
Scents-
Lavender
Strawberries
Frankincense( A general all around good choice for all the Theoi)
The smell of ink and parchment/paper(SPG)
Stones-
Marble or Alabaster(UPG)
It’s not stones, but metals like copper, silver, gold- anything that is or was used to make currency
Offerings:
Incense
Honey
Olives or olive oil
Wine
Milk
Turtle shells or turtle shaped objects
Coins/currency/money
Written messages(SPG)
Strawberries
Feathers(legal to own-let’s not get in trouble now)
dice
Devotional Activities:
There’s so many choices of devotional activities when it comes to Hermes.
Writing letters
Donating to homeless shelters or food pantries
Study animal husbandry
Become a magician/illusionist
Travel to another town/state/country
Try something that requires luck- cards, dice games, etc.
Learn about astronomy
Honor the dead
Learn about your ancestors
Study astrology
Pick up a sport
Workout/become athletic
Give a few coins to a homeless person
Learn other languages
Practice speaking
Learn to be diplomatic
A more modern twist to a devotional act would be to pick up merchant skills in a game, like mmorpgs. Or, avoid being a real life thief and become one in a game! There’s so many options, just let your imagination go wild.
~That’s all for deity of the week! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!~

Palmistry
🖐 🖐 🖐 🖐
*sorry I only did one minor line (marriage line)*
Palms
* For females, the right hand is what you're born with, and left is what you've accumulated throughout your life.
* For males, The left hand is what you're born with, and the right is what you've accumulated throughout your life.
* Another way would be you can choose whichever hand is dominant to be your present/past life hand (the non-dominant hand would then be your future life hand)
* Earth - broad, square palms and fingers, thick or coarse skin, and ruddy color; length of the palm equals length of fingers
* Solid values and energy, sometimes stubborn
* Practical and responsible, sometimes materialistic
* Work with their hands, comfortable with the tangible
* Air - square or rectangular palms with long fingers and sometimes protruding knuckles, low-set thumbs, and dry skin; length of the palm less than length of fingers
* Sociable, talkative and witty
* Can be shallow, spiteful and cold
* Comfortable with the mental and the intangible
* Does things in different and radical ways
* Water - long, sometimes oval-shaped palm, with long, flexible, conical fingers; length of the palm equals the length of fingers but is less than the width across the widest part of the palm.
* Creative, perceptive and sympathetic
* Can be moody, emotional and inhibited
* Introverts
* Do things quietly and intuitively.
* Fire - square or rectangular palm, flushed or pink skin, and shorter fingers; length of the palm is greater than length of fingers
* Spontaneous, enthusiastic and optimistic
* Sometimes egoistic, impulsive and insensitive
* Extroverts
* Do things boldly and instinctively.
Hand Mounts
* That's what the fleshy bit below your fingers are called, on the opposite side of your knuckle.
* To make them visible, cup your hand just a bit.
* A high Venus mount (the one under your thumb) indicates a predisposition for hedonism, promiscuity, and the need for instant gratification. A non-existent Venus mount indicates little interest in family matters.
* The mount under your index finger is called the Jupiter mount. If this is well-developed, it means you are dominant, possibly self-centered, and aggressive. A lack of one means you lack confidence.
* Under your middle finger is the Saturn mount. A high mount shows you're stubborn, cynical, and prone to depression. If it is low, it's an indicator of superficiality and disorganization.
* The Sun mount is under your ring finger. You're quick-tempered, extravagant, and prideful if you have a high Sun mount. A low Sun mount means you lack imagination.
* The Mercury mount is under your pinkie. If it's protruding, you talk too much. A low mount means the opposite -- you're shy.
Heart Line
* This line can be read in either direction (from the pinkie finger to the index finger or vice versa) depending on the tradition being followed.
* It's believed to indicate emotional stability, romantic perspectives, depression, and cardiac health.
* Begins below the index finger - content with love life
* Begins below the middle finger - selfish when it comes to love
* Begins in the middle - falls in love easily
* Straight and short - less interest in romance
* Touches life line - heart is broken easily
* Not Present- ruled by logic instead of emotion.
* Present at the fate line- Consumed by others
* Long and curvy - freely expresses emotions and feelings
* Straight and parallel to the head line - good handle on emotions
* Wavy - many relationships and lovers, absence of serious relationships
* Circle on the line - sadness or depression
* Broken line - emotional trauma
* Smaller lines crossing through heart line - emotional trauma
Head Line
* This represents a person's learning style, communication approach, intellectualism, and thirst for knowledge.
* A curved line is associated with creativity and spontaneity, while a straight line is linked with practicality and a structured approach.
* Short line - prefers physical achievements over mental ones
* Curved, sloping line - creativity
* Separated from life line - adventure, enthusiasm for life
* Wavy line - short attention span
* Deep, long line - thinking is clear and focused
* Straight line - thinks realistically
* Donuts or cross in head line - emotional crisis
* Broken head line - inconsistencies in thought
* Multiple crosses through head line - momentous decisions
* If the head line is not there, it indicates a sluggish person.
* A faint line indicates the person lacks concentration and memory.
* A deep line represents good memory and concentration.
* If the head line begins at the life line, this indicates the person is strong-willed.
* A head line that is separate from the life line indicates an individual who has a strong sense of enthusiasm and adventure for life.
Life Line
* This begins near the thumb and travels in an arc towards the wrist. It reflects physical health, general well-being, and major life changes (for example, cataclysmic events, physical injuries, and relocation).
* Its length is not associated with length of life.
* Runs close to thumb - often tired
* Curvy - plenty of energy
* Long, deep - vitality
* Short and shallow - manipulated by others
* Swoops around in a semicircle - strength, and enthusiasm
* Straight and close to the edge of the palm - cautious when it comes to relationships
* Multiple life lines - extra vitality
* Circle in line indicates - hospitalized or injured
* Break - sudden change in lifestyle
Fate Line
* This is also known as the line of destiny, and it indicates the degree to which a person's life is affected by external circumstances beyond their control.
* It begins at the base of the palm.
* Deep line - strongly controlled by fate
* Breaks and changes of direction - prone to many changes in life from external forces
* Starts joined to life line - self-made individual; develops aspirations early on
* Joins with the life line around in the middle - signifies a point at which one's interests must be surrendered to those of others
* Starts at base of the thumb and crosses life line - support offered by family and friends.
Marriage Line
* mainly reflects the situation of your marriage life, love relationship, marriage time as well as your attitude towards love.
* It is located below the base of the little finger just above the heart line
* A straight long marriage line indicates deep and long love.
* If your marriage line is short, it indicates passionless to the opposite sex.
* If it's also shallow, you usually lack the patience to pursue the opposite sex and hard to fall deep when fall in love.
* If your marriage line goes downwards at the end (Figyour partner will die earlier than you. If it curves downwards suddenly, your partner may suffer from accidental death.
* Another situation is that it curves downwards and touches the heart line. This indicates marriage crises and personality clashes with your partner.
* If the line curves upwards at the end, it indicates constant in love and a settled marriage life.
* If the line is forked at the beginning with a shape of "Y", It indicates split-up
* If the line has split ends, it indicates marriage crises and separation. You may spend the whole life in confusion. You may also suffer from indigestion.
* The broken marriage line shows you are easy to meet setbacks in love or marriage.
* The longer the broken part is, the more serious the situation is. If the break is short, that’s not too much problem.
* If an island appears at the beginning of the line, it shows you may not go smoothly in love relationship before marriage.
* An island in the middle indicates twists and turns in love.
* If the island appears at the end of the line, it indicated obstacles after marriage.
* Many islands indicate unfavorable love relationship and marriage.
* Grilles means that there are great ups and downs during your marriage life.
* If you have multi disordered overlapping lines with different lengths, it shows you couldn't have an ideal love relationship or marriage. It's hard to meet a good lover and easy to spend the whole life without marriage.
* If you have two marriage lines running parallel with the same length, it indicates a tortuous marriage. Also, people who separate with his/her partner for a long time and reunite usually have this kind of marriage line.
* If the two lines running parallel with different lengths, you are easy to fall into love-triangle situations.

So I was out in my Local New Age Bookstore the other day and they had these neat moon phase calendars, but none had the holidays or zodiac at a glance so I decided to make one. This is ostensibly for myself, but feel free to use it for personal use!

a short guide to developing and using your own set for lithomancy
0) find, buy, or borrow stones that catch your eye or have personal significance
1) choose one stone to represent the self, then assign the rest to each of the five elements (earth, water, air, fire, ether/spirit)
2) using these elemental correspondences as a guide, develop meanings for each stone and/or how that stone relates to others
3) depending on how many stones are in your set, decide on a method for dwindling down the set before each casting
4) practice a few times by rolling, casting, and reading where the stones fall--don't speak about the cast before getting a feel for how the stones play off of each other. then, once you feel you've gathered a few key pieces of information, begin to explain
5) as you practice, you will no doubt notice weaknesses in your system of interpretation (ie, a tendency for the same idea to come up almost every casting indicates too many of that stone, or a flaw in the way its appearance is interpreted)

Connecting to witchcraft again ~✨🌹
This for the people who maybe don’t feel as interested in witchcraft as they used to and what to get back into it. Maybe you’ve tried doing a deep dive into all things witchcraft and came out disappointed.
Firstly ✨🌹
Maybe you need to actually dedicate some time to your craft. ✨
In order to actually get good at something or get back into something, you need to actually practice it and if its important enough to you. It could be time to stop reblogging and scrolling through witchy posts and actually put some things to the test.
Maybe you’re in a lull 🌹
Literally, a lull is a temporary interval of quiet or lack of activity.
Magically, though, it’s a time where you can’t do something because energetically you’re tired. This is completely normal! Everyone has these energetic collapses, and anything really can energetically stunt you. Stress, anxiety, your emotions in general, burning yourself out, etc. Maybe you’re out of practice and that caused you to have a lull.
For me, lulls are something I just completely pull myself out of. Instead, I typically implement small witchy things into my daily life.
Take care of your health ✨
Whether it be physical, mental, you need to take care of your health! This can have a massive effect on the flow of energy, how motivated you feel, how spells work for you, etc. It controls a lot.
Look into yourself rather than others 🌹
When looking for magical healing, we often look to others and what they are doing. we may forget that we are different people and we have different needs. I think that it’s a good start to find help, but you shouldn't rely on someone else to tell you what to do.
Start at the beginning - go back to the basics ✨🌹
Meditation ✨
I think that most people would say that mediation is a good foundation for a practice. I would say that it really helps you be more present and calmer. It seriously will give your brain a break and its great. It’s the only thing that I've found that does that for me. (and I’m literally the easily distracted person ever) You don’t even have to do it every day starting out, because it will be super hard getting into it. I listen to guided ones otherwise I get super distracted. I use Headspace and its great! They have a mediation for like everything! They have 10 meditations that are free, but if you want access to more then you would have to pay for a subscription. If you are a student though, you can get it for $9.99 for a whole year of Headspace okay so this sounded sponsored as heck but it wasn’t lollll
Maybe look over the types of witches/basics of witchcraft again🌹
Starting over is never a bad thing, not to mention it can be a good way to find a new practice. Having a “beginners mindset” is always good. Keep in mind, that you will never be at a place where there is absolutely nothing new for you to learn! You could look back into sigils, everyday witchcraft, the elements, crystals, spell types, the energy points, casting a circle.
that being said Don’t rely on outside sources like Tumblr to build your practice completely ✨
Yea sure Tumblr is a great resource for information and for me it is super useful, but it is your responsibility to take information and then somehow adapt it to you and your needs (but this is just my opinion, take this with a grain of salt)
Lastly ✨🌹
Once you finally have gotten more connected to your practice again, don’t spread yourself thin! ✨
What I mean by this is, if you do readings don’t do too many because you’re excited, or don’t take on to many spells….don’t overextend yourself.
Start small implement a morning or night ritual! 🌹
It can be either or both! if you need help coming up with one specifically for yourself, feel free to message me and we can think of something together.
Some Extra Things ✨🌹
These are things to spice up your practice, maybe if you just need something more to do.
Finding a new path of witchcraft to focus on!✨
It could be that you just aren’t connected to the path you are on
Buy a witchy book 🌹
Books like The Green Witch by Arin Murphy, Basic Witches by Jaya Saxena and Jess Zimmerman, The Witch’s Book of Self-Care by Arin Murphy, Wicca By Harmony Nice.
Find a group of witches ✨
Online or otherwise! Tumblr is crawling with witches looking for a community maybe contact one of them to create one! even me tbh!
Possibly get a mentor(s) 🌹
Sometimes having someone who holds you accountable and checks into your progress can make you want to do good! It could be very good for productivity!
Incorporate what you love in your mundane life into your magical life! ✨
ex) tea, technology, books, music, journaling, video games ( one that I incorporate is animal crossing etc.
Sometimes its fun to have a witchy idol! 🌹
What I mean by this is a character from maybe a cartoon that was a witch or someone that has powers! I’ve heard of people using Hermione, Elaine from the Love Witch, Akko, Sucy, Lotte, and Diana from Little Witch Academia. Recently, I’ve been finding inspiration in the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the witches in it just seem too cool!

**STOLEN CRYSTALS**
PLEASE keep a look out for these specific pieces and read this post for more info!
Some items were very recently stolen from my warehouse. I own a wholesale crystal warehouse in Paramount, California. Some time between the night of Saturday, December 14th and the night of Sunday, December 15th, somebody stole about $1,000 wholesale value of crystals. Due to the specific nature of what was stolen, I'm certain it was someone familiar with the business who knew what they were doing. I also believe it was someone familiar with our warehouse. We are looking into the possibility that someone may have gotten ahold of a copy of keys because there was no sign of a break in. My brother who works for me was working both Saturday and Sunday, so we are very confused as to how this happened. At this point we have filed a police report and are trying to do everything in our power to find out who did this.
We literally just got a new shipment in (luckily we had taken some promotional videos and pictures after we unpacked our shipment so we have a few pictures of exact stolen pieces). We noticed this morning (Monday, Dec 16th) that the pieces were missing.
This is the list of what we know for sure is stolen:
-high quality amethyst heart on a metal stand
-large amethyst moon on metal stand (pictured is a similar piece, but it's not the exact piece that was stolen)
-2 large pieces of high quality Uruguayan amethyst on metal stands (pictures of the exact stolen pieces are pictured)
-4 clear quartz sword carvings. Very unique/identifiable pieces. Four pieces were taken and one lower quality piece was left there. (Exact pieces pictured)
-two rainbow druzy cut base pieces from Uruguay (exact pieces pictured)
-a very large polished clear quartz tower
Possibly also taken, but we aren't 100% sure:
-flat of small angel aura quartz clusters
-a very large polished rose quartz tower
-possibly other things we haven't realized yet
Please contact me if you see anyone selling those specific circled pieces of amethyst in combination with those sword carvings, as they're pretty easily identifiable. These were all pretty large pieces and we are at a complete loss as to how someone could do this. The crystal community is not that big, and I'm positive that we can find out who did this.
A couple months back we had a few other things go missing but we didn't think too much of it. This is much worse and it was impossible for us not to notice. Unfortunately we do not have working cameras in the warehouse and the management company we rent from doesn't maintain the outside security footage of the parking lot.
Please help us by sharing and keeping an eye out for someone selling these pieces or someone who recently obtained this particular combination of items 🙏
Thank you!
