Hey, does anyone have any Greek mythology playing card decks? I want to buy one for divination but I would like to see the cards inside before and I want to hear about others experiences first.

Whenever someone around me complains that god doesn't answer their prayers I have to resist the urge to say "Why don't you try another deity?"

There are protests all around Turkey, the police are using brutal force, unlawfully. Nothing is really lawful here. We are also boycotting government supporting brands effectively and I'm proud of the people of my country for protesting so well. however the extreme police brutality is preventing me from being happy about it. I do hope we manage to stay undivided for a long time after this, enough to make sufficient change.
Wanted to make a post about what's going on in turkey but I'm so fucking tired

(Credits to @Pulse.fm on Tiktok for coming up with this originally)
Anyways, enjoy my probably terrible rant about Aphrodite and her connection to Girlhood and that great feeling of childhood innocence!
(Yes I should be asleep, how did you guess?)
The first time I saw this, I didn't think much about it I see a lot of this on my Pinterest regularly. But I stumbled upon this again while working on something else and it really resonates with me.
Probably, because yeah, I relate to this. I went through puberty very, very young and I didn't know what was happening and it wasn't explained until those awkward talks at school did I actually learn what was happening.
And every day since I actually became aware I'm growing up, I've wished I could go back. I still do. I wish I could be a little girl again, but I can't, I don't have the option to go back. I can do things, that make me feel like a little girl again but I will never be a little girl again.
I think this is something every girl can relate to, growing up too fast. We were always expected to grow up fast and be the mature ones at school,
"Girls mature faster then boys."
It's not just a coincidence or a random thing people say, we do because it's expected of us. Girls are expected to be responsible somewhere around elementary school, boys don't have to care until middle school, because that's the appropriate time to grow up.
I think this entire thing allows girls to connect with Lady Aphrodite. She probably understands, growing up too fast, being forced to take on the weight. Struggling with a new changing body, a new world, eyes staring from every corner, aware, and unable to be a little girl again.
She understands that struggle, she understands that we can't go back to being little girls, but she wants you to help feel like a little girl again. She gives you the feeling again.
When you find a cute stuffed animal, when you do a new makeup look for fun, when you rediscover a picture book you used to love, when you play in the bath... Anything that makes you feel like a little girl again.
She's there and she understands
She loves when you feel that childhood innocence again, when you experience childhood joy again, when you go back to that feeling of innocence, that's what she loves!
Sorry this was so long, I should be asleep but this just made me so passionate that I felt like I needed to type this up now. So anyway what do you guys think about this? Also please remember this is my personal interpretation based off of the photo at the top.

Well, of course when it comes to divination there's always a possibility of randomness so it's no definitive proof so there's a part that's up to perspective and "choice to believe". I did experience something very spesific coming true and feel "energies" but obviously, I'm no prophet. However I do think that I have "subjective" reasons to belive that there is at least "something" out there.
One of the things I love about my beliefs is that I can communicate with deities through divination. You aren't sure about whether they'd like something? Just ask them directly. The fact that a divine being perhaps from another realm chooses to answer me and bless me is insane. Despite all my silly mistakes, I am grateful.

Lady Aphrodite,
of the sea foam of Cyprus,
Goddess of love and beauty,
I thank you for your blessings.
You give me reassurance,
You help me feel safe and secure,
I pray for your presence in life, beautiful and great,
I want to be the best I can in relationships and communication.
Any aid in bettering myself would be appreciated.

I feel like energy naturally gathers in my head but I need to direct it to my chest or I'll get a headache. Does anyone else experience something like this?
Energy Work 101: Employing Power Therein
Visualizing is to energy work as a hammer is to carpentry.
Visualizing, picturing, imagining, believing, etc., are tools that you use to focus and apply your force. They do not build a cabinet unless you are there wielding them.
The force comes from you and your personal power. Without that, the tools lay inert.
Finding out how to use and employ actual power when doing energy work can be something of a challenge.
Here's a bunch of info to troubleshoot, in no particular order.
Research altered states of consciousness (ASC). The super over-simplified version is that we have a lot of brain wave states (gamma, beta, alpha, theta, delta). When people talk about "magical mindset" or "ritual headspace," they are probably not just referring to feeling magical. They are probably referring to actually exiting the loud, everyday beta brainwave state and entering a different one. This is why so many energy work techniques and authors push relaxation and calmness exercises; it literally changes your brainwave patterns. If you're feeling like you're missing something that everyone else seems to understand so nobody is talking about it, try starting here.
Practice relaxation and calmness. Many people can wield their power in chaotic, overwhelming situations. However if you already don't know how to work with your power, this is probably a bad place to start. Relaxation and calmness is not necessarily "meditation." Choose a couple active techniques (like breathing exercises, clenching and releasing muscles, and counting down) and practice them. Combine this practice with research about ASC to understand how you are practicing the ability to drop out of "everyday" headspace and into an entirely different flow. Whenever you practice energy work, start by entering your relaxed flow.
Avoid disassociation. It all starts with your body. The carpenter doesn't sit down, meditate, exit his body, and then visualize the hammer swinging. No cabinets will be built that way. Do not mistake relaxation and calmness to mean that you should exit, ignore, or run away from your body. This is about discovering how to use a muscle group inside your body. Like someone learning how to wiggle their ears, it cannot be accomplished if the body is wholly ignored.
Look for your own energy battery. No, these are not "chakras." Our personal metaphysical energy can be understood to be "stored" in one or more locations in our physical body. Different models promote wildly different energy centers. Commonly, energy centers are believed to be at the sit-bones of your rumpus, in your solar plexus, in the middle of your chest, in your forehead, and along your spine (among many other possibilities). Try various techniques of energy-gathering (such as breathing in pure light, or pulling energy through your hands and feet), with a specific focus that the energy should go to its "storage space." Watch, feel, know, or observe where the energy goes once it enters your body. Alternatively, any energy reader worth their salt should be able to locate your energy centers for you.
Learn how to feel your energy body. For the more witch-minded, Roger J. Horne has an excellent tutorial in A Broom at Midnight, in the "Preparations and an Invitation" chapter. Robert Bruce's NEW Energy Ways is an excellent primer on feeling and working with your energy body.
Energy work should wear you out. While some people are "energy suns" and rarely seem to ever run out of energy, most of us are not. If you can 'visualize' spells, wards, and spirits without any noticeable change in energy levels, you are probably not putting any energy into them. For beginners, even a single energy work exercise, or ten or fifteen minutes of practice, may induce noticeable physiological changes.
Experiment with methods of raising energy. Methods include: breathing in energy, pulling energy directly through the pores of your skin, bringing energy in through your hands, feet, or base of your spine, drawing energy down through the top of your head, and drawing orbs of energy out of your chest or solar plexus, among other things. Toy with various techniques and see which ones feel like they hold potential for you. Try The Sorcerer's Secrets by Jason Miller for elemental energy work techniques.
Go breadth-first on techniques. Although I generally recommend choosing one technique and practicing it for a while to see how it works, you may benefit from rounding up a ton of different exercises and trying each one once or twice before moving on. Look for differences in how power is gathered, programmed, and employed. Make note of any techniques which don't click at all for you, and which ones you feel power and potential in.
Don't do it if it hurts. I have a very very messed up spine, energetically speaking. Drawing power in through my tailbone hurts, immediately, in a very physical way, that can last days. We're all built different. Energy work is not like pushing through the burn at the gym. If it hurts, stop doing it.
Pay attention to what works. Suppose you find a technique where the author says, "gather energy by breathing it into your lungs." But when you do so, the energy doesn't want to go there - it settles into your heart center. Don't write this off as you being unable to perform the technique, or some kind of lung blockage, or whatever. Maybe this is just where you hold your energy, you know? Don't try to make yourself a mediocre citizen of Conformity Town when you're already shining down on Individuality Way.
There is no key to energy work which is wholly divorced from practice. I have seen many people insist that they won't do energy work until someone tells them the real secrets - when presented with valid, community-tested, time-honored techniques, they scoff. It didn't work for them, they tried it twice. Real life is not a YA novel. There is no destiny stone or magic wand that is going to magically unlock special powers inside of you. This is athletics conditioning. If you can't bench press 100lbs today, that doesn't mean the coach is witholding secrets from you. It means you need to practice until you're able to perform the technique. Maybe situps fuck with your back and you need to replace them with planks, but nothing in the world is going to replace actual practice. Energy work is a skillset, like learning an instrument, and it requires physical conditioning, like being an athlete. Moving forward in either area requires practice.

"What radicalized you?"
Nothing.
I've just always held that fascism is bad and that all people deserve basic respect and human rights, along with food, healthcare, housing, and civil liberties.
And somewhere along the line, that became a radical opinion.

“why don’t you tell your friends that you’re a pagan?” oh i don’t know, maybe it’s because half of them are christian and don’t take too lightly on the thought of a pagan witch who does spells every other week and worships not one, not two, but three gods. one being from an entirely different pantheon
so idk you tell me boo

A Year of Pagan Prayer
Tumblr media
I purchased this book by Barbara Nolan from my local metaphysical shop a while ago, but I finally sat down and picked out some of my favorite prayers to Aphrodite, Hermes, and Apollo.
There are a lot more featured than just these three deities, it even included other pantheons, but I decided to focus on the deities I worship regularly!
I picked two for each deity:
Aphrodite

Hermes

Apollo

Like I said, there are a lot more deities mentioned in the book than just these three!
If anyone would like me to find a prayer for a specific deity that hasn’t been showcased above, feel free to ask! <3
