okay i some legit things bc a) canon and b) i think too much but uh:

tfp soundwave when soundwave dies (or he’s as good as) wizard doesn’t seek revenge. doesn’t even try. they join the autobots. they try to regain some semblance of relationship with optimus prime. it hurts, of course, but it is even worse when optimus prime dies on them too.

idw soundwave wizard comes back to cybertron, ready to rejoin their love and they’re told he’s dead. it burns. they left and they’ve only just come back. they hurt and they turn to the people they trust most. they’re all dead too. wizard settles for prowl.

idw ratchet ratchet dies and it feels too much like losing. yes, of course they have drift, but it’s always been wizard and drift and ratchet. they’re a trio. mourning is hard but for drift, they will. they don’t know if they could do it for themselves.
