Post20 - News: Plans 21/06/21
Thank you so much for the support, but I am officially ending this side project.
Why?
Well, I have other things I want to pursue, and if I continue this project according to plan, it would take me a year.
Taking a year for just one 10 minute video doesn’t seem worth it, as the joy of creation has passed and I know that I could do this much better in the future with more skill and time.
Anyways, have a great day!

Post19 - News: Plans 06/06/21
Updated News: 21/06/21 Hi there!
Here's what I have so far: Main Post
If you're still here after the hiatus, thank you!
The finals went well, but I also realize that I want to pursue other things, too. Thus, this ex-student project would become a "sidequest" of sorts, meaning its initial plans have stretched. Anyways...
Prepare for a BIG post below. Mwahaha...
Long-term Plan
What I have so far...
Month 1 - Designs Month 2 - Animatics & Chosen Seq 1 Month 3 - Chosen Seq 2
What I plan for :
Storyboard (done years ago) -> Animatics (done Month1-3) -> Animation (this plan) -> Color (hopefully?) -> Effects (ahhaha)
Milestones:
Note that these may change upon my speed & time availability. I may consider cramming/stretching these stones as necessary.
<<Month #: Timestamp Type Name>>
Month 4: 0:00-0:35 Animation Broom Flying
Month 5: 0:53-1:17 Animation/Refine Talk
Month 6: 1:17-1:41 Animation Sand Clock-Class Ends
Month 7: 1:42-2:20 Animation Carter Enters
Month 8: 2:35-end Animation Ending
Below is if I still want to continue by coloring it, but don't anticipate for this, for I (as of 6 Jun 21) believe that making multiple short stuff is better practice than perfecting 1 stuff over & over.
Month 9: 0:00-1:00 Color Part 1 (Broom Flying to Talk)
Month 10: 1:00-1:45 Color Part 2 (Talk to Class Ends)
Month 11: 1:46-2:20 Color Part 3 (Carter Enters)
Month 12: 2:20-end Color Part 4 (Chase Scene to Ending)
**You may wonder: "why is it a year worth of stuff?" Because it is. I'm doing this alone (for now), so the time I have is limited...

EDIT (06/06/21): Updated News
Hi there!
If you're here, then thank you. -v-
The class for this animation project is over, but the project continues!
I just... need to finish my final exams well, so I need all the time I can get.
Thus, I will be on a 2 week hiatus.
See ya!

Post16 - Month 3 Week 4: Chosen Sequence #2 - Sound / Finalization
Finally... it is done.
One session, four hours..
Commentaries
My work Time: 2 hour: Draw over & fix (90+pics) 1 hour: Grid in (90+pics) 1 hour: Rendering
Rendering multiple times because I just realized Blender also renders my hidden 3d models...
Should've done this in the morning, but stuff happened and this session got from noon to midnight. If it was morning, I think I might have saved at least 30 minutes.

Devlog - Month3Week3: 18/05/21
Rough animations "finished"! (meaning weapons & faces are where and when I want them to be).
I will clean the lines up next week.
The frame rates dropped for some reason while I'm recording my screen. The final (with sound) should be sped up x1.5 or x2.

Sorry I posted this late. My wifi got bad yesterday, so Tumblr won't load.

Post15 - Month 3 Week 3: Chosen Sequence #2 - Animated 100%
I'm creating a “running” animation sequence about 5 sec long or more (2:25-2:30).
Plan (& this week's devlog menus)
I will roughly animate it. My characters, weapons, and their movements are understandable, though would be roughly drawn.
Unlike before, I am carving out “keyframes” from the rough animatics I had before. Hopefully I will be able to animate smoothly.
I want to aim for
Day 1: Rough animation 50% (I didn’t finish that last time)
Day 2: Rough animation 75%
Day 3: Rough animation 100%
** Thankfully, I have learned how to attach the sound while I animate, so that I don’t have to go back and edit all over again.

Yes! Rough Animation 45ish%!
Do you notice the difference animatics?

Devlog - Month3Week2: 09/05/21
Planned to do 50% animation rough, but I also need to study...
Drawing humans is kinda hard. Carter here looks like a different person every frame, but I'm trying to keep him consistent.

Post14 - Month 3 Week 2: Chosen Sequence #2 - Animated 75%
I will roughly animate it. This means that I will "carve out" the silhouette from my animatics into respective characters and weapons.
Plan
Day 1: Animatic for Weapons (I didn’t finish that last time)
Day 2: Rough animation 50%
Day 3: Rough animation 100% 25%
Edit (09/07/21): I need to lessen my workload for now. It's exam period.

Devlog - Month3Week2: 07/05/21
Kinda shorter than most sessions. I have school exams upcoming...
Same with before, no idea what I was doing. I turned all weapons into spheres just so it would be easier.
The sound (not audible here) doesn't work for a in the beginning, so that took away some of my time to fix it.

Devlog - Month3Week1: 02/05/21
Very fun today.
I had no idea what I was doing, and that's great for keying chasing scenes (because Carter also has no idea what he's doing too).
Like Bob Ross probably once said, "art is happy accidents." XD
I would really liked to capture & share how I animated this whole thing, but my computer can't handle the RAM load. xP

Forgot to upload it yesterday.
Should've started with animatics, but playing around with the camera is just so fun!

Devlog - Month3Week1: 30/04/21
I created the background in 3d, so I don't have to draw every furniture again. This is because I plan for the chase scene to have some "turn arounds".
Pretty fun to try out.
