Ambrosia Chapter 7
Ichor ran in heavy rivulets from the tender wounds of Poseidon’s gut and the long gashes slashed across his toned back. The god rasped for breath as his wounds were given enough time to congeal and begin to close, a deliberate cruelty as the audience only began to thicken. Nymphs and attendants joined the onlooking Olympians, wide eyed and hooked by the rare sight of a god debased and bleeding like a sacrifice. Rolling his shoulders, Poseidon whispered, “G-Get on with this farce. My brother will claim his pound of flesh for this petty favor-”   Odysseus planted his heel harshly upon Poseidon’s stomach, baring his teeth in warning, “Rush me again I might yet lose count of how many strikes which are your due.”   The ragged scream from the god was as sweet as a chorus to the ear when Poseidon rasped, “E-Enough, stop this-”   “No.” Odysseus breathed, stepping back as he hefted his blade, “We are beyond begging.”

Ambrosia: Chapter 6
Its here bois
The craggy outcrop of rock and silt was hardly an island worth noting upon the Aegean. Poseidon knew not why Zeus summoned him to the isle to be scolded for his error on Olympus, yet here the brothers stood in the early morning brine, the sun as thickly shrouded as a bride by the fog. Weary and sore about the chest and stomach still, Poseidon leaned into his trident with a grimace, “Why the informal summons to such a rock, brother?” “King.” Zeus raised his chin as the wind coursed through his hair, “Remember what I am before blood, Poseidon.” “All this posturing over what - a man who even now refuses to be ruthless? Who whores away a year for his life as if the act is enough to clean his ledger?” Poseidon hissed, “Grant me my due and I shall atone for the slight of sowing chaos in your home, O God King.”

i think one of the things that makes this damn musical so emotional is that we've all been waiting, for actual years, for ody to come home. we've been on both sides of the curtain, watching ody's desperation and seeing his adventures, and also being in penelope's shoes, of having no choice but to wait, and wait, and wait, and wait for him to make it home, and hope he does. we speculated amongst eachother online, in calls, in discord servers, in animatics and remixes and covers, not unlike a divine pantheon looking down - but unlike the gods in that world, we're knowing but unable to communicate, forced to witness and wait - in that way we're more like Penelope and her tapestries, making and unmaking them in anticipation. anyway idk man. i feel like epic the musical really hit harder because of the time we spent waiting as fans was so synonymous with the time passing with the protagonists
