every day i think about how wild vaporeon would live mostly in the water but come to shore to have their pups (eevee), and then would probably groom their pups in a special way to trap air bubbles in their soft fur to make them more bouyant so they can float unaided on the water. and then as soon as the eevee have control of their little legs they're being taught how to swim, so you could come to a lake at a certain time of year ans see a vaporeon swimming around with a tiny soaked eevee paddling along behind it like

Japanese First-Person Pronouns of Every Protag and Rival

Source for most of these is this Reddit post showing the pronouns used in Pokémon Masters EX; for characters not on that chart, I either looked at Japanese game footage or used ctrl+F on pages on the Japanese Pokémon Wiki.

Watashi (gender neutral but leaning feminine, polite): Kris, Leaf (and Green from LGPE), Hilda, Selene, Lillie, Elaine, Juliana, Nemona

Watakushi (gender neutral, very polite): Avery

Atashi (feminine, casual): May, Dawn, Lyra, Bianca, Rosa, Serena, Shauna, Gloria, Marnie, Carmine

Uchi (feminine, casual, used in certain dialects): Klara, Penny. (Note that they're both from the Isle of Armor; I haven't checked, but I wonder if other female characters from there like Peonia and Honey use uchi as well.)

Boku (masculine, casual): Red, Ethan, Wally, Lucas, Hilbert, Cheren, N, Nate*, Tierno, Trevor, Elio, Chase, Victor, Bede, Florian

Ore (masculine, most casual, sometimes rude/arrogant): Blue, Silver, Brendan, Barry, Hugh, Calem, Hau, Gladion, Trace, Hop, Arven, Kieran**

*Peculiary, in Masters EX, Nate uses boku in his written dialogue, but jibun in his spoken voice lines. Jibun is a curious pronoun; it started off as a word meaning "self," so its use as a pronoun was limited to phrases like "I did it by myself." However, now it's sometimes used as a first-person, mostly masculine pronoun. A lot of times it can make the speaker sound distant from the situation (for example, Larry in ScarVi uses jibun because he's a jaded salaryman). However, I've read that in some places in Japan, young men will use jibun more casually. Why does Nate use it? I have no idea!

**In The Teal Mask Kieran spells ore in hiragana, but in The Indigo Disk he switches to using kanji. In fiction, the way a character's pronoun is written carries implications: hiragana is standard/polite, katakana is eye-catching and maybe bragadocious, and kanji gives an aura of seriousness. So, switching to the kanji form of ore helps emphasize his switch into a more serious character in TID.
