Chelsea Gray should not be starting. She is a straight up liability on defense. I don’t care that she gets a steal here and there, but for the most part, her defense is horrible since she’s been back. Her and Plum were getting beat on the screens vs the Lynx. Have Hayes start over Gray.

Gray, Plum and Jackie don’t involve A’ja enough it’s fucking disrespectful. I get why she didn’t even bother this game vs the Lynx, but A’ja also needs to chew those 3 out for playing selfish ball since they’ve been back from the Olympic break. You have Plum who’s back to either chucking the ball or try to drive to the basket to force a foul and bitch about it when they don’t call the foul. You got Jackie who’s up and down, and then, you have Gray who also shot chucks and tried to do the same shit KP is doing. What’s worse, as a PG, Gray is forcing more shots than she is trying to facilitate the ball movement and creat plays. The only damn ball movement a she’s done is dribbling for fucking 10-20 seconds. How are you, as a PG, only have 5 asst vs the Lynx while A’ja has 6 asst? You can’t call yourself the Point Gawd if you’re not doing your goddamn job as a PG. She’s not 100% healthy and the other teams know this. Shit, I’d double team Chelsea whenever she has the ball and run through her when she’s on defense.

I don’t know what the coaching staff is doing having Meg come off the bench after Hayes and AC. She really hasn’t don’t much and barely tried to even rebound the ball. I don’t think Kate’s at 100% because she would have been in when the defense has been playing like shit.

Unpopular opinion: Syd can, at times, bring some spark off the bench, but last night wasn’t it. She got beat on the screens, too and her mental lapses and fouling is the reason why Becky barely plays her.

KB just needs to go. She can be taken by the Valkyries during the expansion draft. She hasn’t shown any improvement since she’s been drafted back in 2022.

The aces whole team is just not clicking rn. They all have good skills as individuals but need to learn how to play as a team. Gray has her moments but hayes would be wayyy more consistent, and AC is soo underrated. Hard to have an opinion since syd is the loml but she can turn a game around playing or on the bench. She was getting pretty beat up w those screens but at least she was getting playing time! KB…. umm i think the aces like her that’s so good ig!!

Unpopular take to any Aces fan: Becky should bench any starters that play hero ball (Plum) or want to dribble the damn ball for 10-20 seconds to try and play iso 🏀 (talking about Gray and at times, Plum). These same players are also guilty of not trusting their bench to make the shots when they’re in the game. The Aces have a bench, it’s just some starters don’t want to trust them enough to shoot the ball and score for their freaking team. As much as I am not a fan of Reeves, good for her in benching Plum and Gray when they were trying to do too much. They got nothing to prove. They’ve been WNBA champs and won gold in the Olympics. Who the fuck cares that you got benched in the Olympics? Just play team basketball, move the ball around and involve your bench. You literally have the only rookie in the #9 spot of 3pt shooting % (39.6) (the only rookie in the top 10) and you don’t pass her the ball when she’s wide open? You’d rather play ISO ball with your broke ass foot, knee and back?

The reason the Aces bench isn’t scoring is because some starters can’t be bothered to trust them enough to score and playing selfish 🏀. NY is playing unselfishly and will win this thing because they trust each other all the way down to the last person on that bench. Cant say the same for some Aces starters.

Yes 100%. Ball hogging is not gonna win you another championship. It might work for a little but you’re gonna get burnt out and won’t have a backup plan, because if the bench never gets an opportunity to shoot you can’t expect them to come in and play well enough to win.
