Quote It: Big Dragon The Series Episode 6
While I don’t 100% buy how quickly a romantic relationship happens, not a bad series and acting is mostly good. I had like Secret Garden flashbacks. Hyun Woo’s character complained that the female lead never thought of him and put herself in his shoes. But…his character never tried to put himself in her shoes, so that always vexed me that he complained about that. In this series, Mangkorn…

"Name名" by Zheng Yu
While NeeNee is not back to blogging regularly, she's still going to be publishing random Asian-related posts apparently. Enjoy her recommendation of the poetry of Zheng Yu.
I love the literary magazine Epiphany and they recently featured Zheng Yu’s “Name名.” Things and beauty can always be lost in translation and be awkward. Zheng Yu is writing with English as her second language, and this is a beautiful poem about how her grandfather struggled to find the perfect name for his granddaughter. While the entire poem is great, the second half told from her…

Saying Goodbye
May we meet again one day. Saying goodbye to a labor of love that has just become a labor is always sad.
Yes. I was going to try to keep things going for as long as possible, but it’s hard. Being an adult, being a caretaker to a grandparent, working a job where I am in front of a screen more than I am not, really makes it hard to watch dramas and blog about them. I would sincerely love to keep this project going and will hopefully be able to do posts every now and then, but probably no more drama…

A Fresh Start
Because I can never make up my mind. A thought while I start up a blog devoted to cooking and having fun in the kitchen...as if the world needs another of those, right? Is to make a diary of my travels around the mitten state. Come join me!
Yes, a fresh start. This blog originally started out as Asian Addicts Anonymous then became Asian Music Addicts Anonymous and then it was given a new URL and the original content was deleted and was used as an actual blog, mostly dedicated to photography of the sky. Hence the name was An Everchanging Sky. Meet my traveling bear avatar! I have decided to reboot An Everchanging Sky in a new way…

Perfect Game Day Dip
Perfect Game Day Dip
I won’t lie…the only “sport” I watch is auto racing, so I am not the kind to do a big Super Bowl party with a bunch of snack foods. That said, this dip would be perfect for such an occasion as the Super Bowl, so I thought it would be a perfect time to share this on the blog. Let’s dig in. Perfect Game Day DipA yummy layered dip with refried beans, cream cheese, and hamburger. Perfect for…

NeeNee's Playlist of the Week - Spring Day Edition
NeeNee’s Playlist of the Week – Spring Day Edition
In many ways we are all still living in dark times. The pandemic, political unrest, and probably so much more that it’s hard to really name, isn’t it? Preparing special performances for year-end music shows, rookie band WEi took on a song by the hugely popular BTS, “Spring Day.” Member Donghan talked about he helped produce the performance and changed up the choreography to reflect a little more…

Year End Drama Review 2020 Day 7: Go Ahead
Year End Drama Review 2020 Day 7: Go Ahead
I do have issues with this drama in several ways, but this was really an endearing drama that explored the true meaning of family and friendship. All of the cast were excellent in their roles, especially given the age ranges in which they had to act. Song Wei Long’s Ling Xiao was the oldest “brother” of the family and he is literally the youngest in real life while Seven Tan plays the baby of the…

Year End Drama Review 2020 Day 6: A Bunch of Dramas
Year End Drama Review 2020 Day 6: A Bunch of Dramas
Yes, I will be doing one more post tomorrow and that will basically be my number one drama of the year. 2gether was a very strong contender for that and maybe in my heart tomorrow’s drama and that one are tied. This post will cover all the rest of the dramas I managed to watch all the way through and didn’t feel like writing up a whole post on. Although, I am quite certain on some of them I…

Fave Cover: 봄날 (Spring Day) by WEi
Fave Cover: 봄날 (Spring Day) by WEi
Oh my goodness…you need this cover in your life. WEi dropped a cover of BTS’ 봄날 (Spring Day) on December 24. Their performance was completely awesome. They even added in sigh language at the beginning and end. It’s a really touching performance. WEi debuted this fall I believe with the song “Twilight” which is an awesome song you need to check out. Their cover of this song is amazing, too.…

Year End Drama Review Day 5: Only Kiss Without Love
Year End Drama Review Day 5: NeeNee reviews the confusing and absurd 2018 Chinese web drama Only Kiss Without Love starring Xu Li and Shi Ming Ze.
I talked about an absurd drama yesterday, but the absurdity of this one takes the cake and its ending left me wondering WHY I watched this drama. Do I recommend it…not entirely. The whole of the plot left me confused as heck at times, but the English subtitles were NOT 100% the best. Not as bad as some subtitles on the iQiyi platform, but not as good as some of the others either. I was debating…

YEAR END DRAMA REVIEW 2020 DAY 4: Onzoshi Boys
NeeNee's year-end drama review continues with #jdrama Onzoshi Boys (aka Noble Boys). A short and absurd romance comedy melodrama that wasn't quite sure exactly what it wanted to be.
A Japanese drama with 18 15-minute episodes? Why not? Onzoshi Boys aka Noble Boys aired on AbemaTV back in 2019. It’s an over-the-top youth drama filled with lots of overacting, comedy, romance, and even melodrama. The whole basis of this drama is absolutely absurd if you look at the bigger picture. Four wealthy college boys are doing a reality television show to select the woman they will marry.…

Year End Drama Review 2020 Day 3: 2gether
NeeNee gives a brief summary and review of the hit Thai drama 2gether the Series which catapulted Bright and Win to fame earlier this year.
Angst there may have been at times, but Thai drama 2gether was actually a breath of fresh air during the end of winter beginning of spring. Win and Bright had excellent chemistry as Tine and Sarawat and the supporting cast who played their friends also showed some great chemistry. I especially loved “Khaotung” Thanawat Rattanakitpaisan as Fong who was the voice of reason for Tine when he was…

Year End Drama Review 2020 Day 2: Mr. Heart
NeeNee recaps and reviews the short and sweet BL drama Mr. Heart about a university marathon runner and the pace setter who opens up his heart and break through the barrier in his heart holding him back.
Short dramas…are a good thing. Most of the time. Sometimes the acting is not 100% the best in these little dramas and sometimes it is excellent. Mr. Heart (미스터 하트) follows the story of two young men in college. One is a marathon athlete and the other is a pace runner. This is only eight 11 minute episodes. You can’t go wrong or be bored. Sometimes the acting seemed like acting and sometimes it…

Year End Drama Review 2020 Day 1: Fly The Jumper
NeeNee is back talking about dramas! I will try to cover 1 drama a day from now until December 31. Year End Drama Review Day 1: Fly The Jumper
You would think that a four episode drama would have the issue of being underdeveloped, but that definitely wasn’t the case with Fly the Jumper (違反校規的跳投). This surprisingly had enough depth and good acting that four 25 minute episodes really did feel like there was enough time and plot to establish everything. Wu Nien Hsuan did an amazing job as the leading male Zhang Jian Yi who was passionate…

Christmas Countdown 2020 Day 7
On the last day of Christmas, NeeNee gifts to you a song from 2019 "Baby Come Back Home: from kpop group Target. Have a happy and safe holiday!
The kpop world is filled with sad stories, horror stories, and groups that never made it to debut. If I am remembering correctly, Target was originally set to debut but were let go or their original company failed. They then struggled together as a group to find a new company and debut together as planned…which they did in 2018. These boys are seriously talented. Hopefully you will enjoy their…
