People keep saying that Rick and Morty isn't serialized, but...honestly, it kind of is? The plots are mostly episodic, but the character development makes it hard to watch the show out of order. I mean, can you imagine watching "Valkyrick" right after "The Rickshank Rickdemption" or "The Vat of Acid Episode" and see this unhinged monster suddenly turn into a flawed but loving father? Rick would seem wildly out of character if you hadn't followed his development up to that point.
