For Track-Tuesday WONDERLIFE is highlighting “I’m Sorry” by Peach Tree Rascals. Peach Tree Rascals are a rising group of singers, rappers, producers, and designers. The group started in San Jose California and they started to release music in 2018. Since 2018 they have been gaining more fans and listers with each song release. Their song “Mariposa” has gained the most traction online. The song was released in August 2019 but became more popular in June 2020. The song became popular on the app TicTok after a dance was created for the song. This would help the group receive more listeners and fans.
Their most recent single “I’m Sorry” was released on August 14, 2020. For this song, the group takes on a more indie-rock style. The vibes of the song can be akin to the sound of “Canyon Moon” by Harry Styles. The group sings about the positives and negatives of being alone. Tarrek sings about finding his soul being alone while Issac raps about a failing relationship. The music video for the song sees the group getting picked up in the desert one by one by a bus similar to a Volkswagen bus. They perform their part inside the bus. The strong brotherly chemistry of the group can be seen here.
WONDERLIFE is recommending “I’m Sorry” by Peach Tree Rascals to music fans. The group shows the ability to change genres and styles with each release. Peach Tree Rascals can not be truly tied down to one genre of music. This is truly exciting to see and WONDERLIFE strongly recommends you to dive into their previous releases and to follow the group.

For Media-Monday WONDERLIFE is highlighting the NBA Playoffs. Due to Covid-19, the NBA had to shorten the remainder of the regular season games and played eight games inside a bubble to finalize the playoff standings. NBA commissioner Adam Silver took the necessary precautions to make sure that the bubble would not be compromised. Because of the precautions, the NBA bubble has had zero confirmed Covid-19 cases. The NBA’s bubble was a success and now they are able to continue with the playoffs.
The NBA Playoffs are going to be different for many reasons, but one important reason is the Black Lives Matter movement. There are 403 Black players in the NBA and they make up 81.3% of the NBA. For many of the Black athletes, the Black Lives Matter movement is an important topic. There have been players who have opted out of the NBA’s bubble because they believe that the Black Lives Matter movement is more important than Basketball right now. The NBA has taken steps in supporting the movement by having “BLACK LIVES MATTER” at the top of the court and by allowing players to have messages on the back of their jersey.
WONDERLIFE is highlighting the NBA Playoffs because we support the athletes fighting for the Black Lives Matter movement. There have been many people who have turned their backs on the NBA because they are supporting the movement. WONDERLIFE supports that the NBA and the athletes are using their platform and status to support the movement. Superstar Lebron James has Tweeted a link to his coalition’s message about Black voting. WONDERLIFE wants to share this message with you;

For Track-Tuesday WONDERLIFE is highlighting “4:00AM” by Taeko Ohnuki. Ohnuki is a Japanese singer and “4:00AM” is one of her most popular songs. According to the Genuis page of the song the album in which the song is included was fairly unsuccessful. The song and the artist would gain more popularity when it would start to get recommended to people on YouTube. The song would get taken down from YouTube channels of the years. This would eventually lead to “4:00AM” and Ohnuki’s other albums to be added to streaming services like Spotify.
“4:00AM” received popularity due to the city pop genre becoming popular around 2016. City pop received a resurgence because of two other genres that were becoming popular on the internet; vaporwave and future funk. City pop is a music genre originating from the late 70s Japanese pop music. What makes city pop popular is the blending of different musical genres like disco, jazz, and funk (as well as other genres.) “4:00AM” incorporates the elements of city pop extremely well. The guitar, trumpets, and bass all come together perfectly to create an essential city pop song. Ohnuki’s vocals should no go underestimated. Her vocal performance is also a major part of the song being an earworm.
When I first heard this song in 2016 I knew I wanted to find more music like this. This lead me to find other city pop artists and discover more music that I had no clue existed. WONDERLIFE is recommending “4:00AM” by Taeko Ohnuki to people who are fond of 80s pop and funk because “4:00AM” incorporates both genres beautifully. Get ready to dance and play the song over and over again.

For Media-Monday WONDERLIFE is highlighting Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem. Interstella is the animated musical of Daft Punk’s album Discovery. Discovery is the second album by Daft Punk and the album is often regarded as their magnum opus. This is when Daft Punk started to change their image and use the robot persona. While making Discovery Daft Punk had the idea to have an animated musical to go along with the album. Production of Interstella began in October 2000 and the film’s worldwide release was May 2003. The worldwide release would be two years after the release of Discovery.
The story of Interstella flows with the soundtrack of Discovery. Each track from Discovery relates to the events that take place in the film. This works really well because sonically Daft Punk created a wide variety of electronic music with different moods. There is no talking in the film so the emotions are driven by the music by Daft Punk and the vision from director Kazuhisa Takenouchi.
Interstella 5555: the 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem is the animated musical of Daft Punk’s 2001 album Discovery. Interstella showcases the evils of the music industry while tying into sci-fi elements. WONDERLIFE recommends Daft Punk’s animated musical to people who are fans of sci-fi and animated movies. Interstella is successful at combining two different forms of media into one. Don’t wait “Too Long” to watch Interstella and be prepared to watch it “One More Time.” (Songs from the soundtrack)

For Track-Tuesday WONDERLIFE is highlighting “Cabin Fever” by Jaden. Jaden returns following his latest album ERYS which is the sequel to his first album SYRE. “Cabin Fever” is the first single for Jaden’s next mixtape CTV3: TRIPPY SUMMER. CT (Cool Tapes) has been a mixtape series for Jaden since 2012 when the first mixtape was released. While there is no release date for the mixtape it seems like it is being released sometime this summer. On Twitter, Jaden wrote that “A New Era Is Among Us.”
The music video for “Cabin Fever” was released on July 30th, 2020 and it features Jaden trying to persuade a girl to go on a date with him during the Covid-19 pandemic and the Black Life Matter protests. Face masks and signs can be seen in the bedrooms of Jaden and the girl. Talking about the song Jaden has said ‘Cabin Fever’ is my vision of a quarantine love song. It’s made to be listened to when the sun is setting and you’re feeling good.” In the music video, Jaden can be seen driving around LA in a rainbow-colored car in 70s style fashion. Jaden can also be seen wearing his signature New Balance shoe that was released earlier in July. Jaden’s dance movies are also showcased and on Twitter, he dubbed his dance movies the “Jupiter walk”.
Jaden’s indie-pop tune is a strong single for his next mixtape. Jaden’s growth as a songwriter can be seen with “Cabin Fever.” If the music video gives any clues for what the mixtape will be like we can expect some more rainbow-colored music from Jaden. WONDERLIFE is recommending “Cabin Fever” and CTV:3 (when it is released) to people who enjoy artsy and fun music to get you through quarantine. And don’t forget to check out the well done and fitting music video.

For Media-Monday WONDERLIFE is highlighting comic-book Snotgirl. Snotgirl is written by Bryan Lee O’Malley and Leslie Hung while the artwork is by Leslie Hung. O’Malley is known for his Scott Pilgrim comic books. Scott Pilgrim would later become a staple in popular culture. This is Hung’s first comic. Snotgirl was announced on April 15, 2016, on O’Malley’s website. O’Malley writes “WHO IS LOTTIE PERSON? Is she a gorgeous, fun-loving social-media star with a perfect life? Or is she a gross, allergy-ridden mess who can’t get her act together?” The first issue of Snotgirl would be released on July 20, 2016. The first issue received positive receptions from critics and readers. The first volume would be released on Feb 22, 2017.
Snotgirl’s focus on fashion and style does not go unnoticed. O’Malley and Hung do not shy away from being ludicrous and flamboyant with outfit designs. At the end of the second volume and the third Hung comments on the outfit choices for the characters. Each character has a specific aesthetic to them. One of the most unique character design comes from the side character Cutegirl. Her design incorporates pastels, hearts, flowers, and pink eye. Japanese fashion like Harajuku and Lolita can be seen in the way Cutegirl dresses.
Snotgirl is a mystery comic with peculiar and strange characters that leave you wondering. Volume 3 of Snotgirl continues the story from the previous volumes. Volume 3 follows Lottie and her complicated relationship(?) with one of her friends. The sexual tension between them makes Lottie obsessed with figuring out what is going on between them. Murder, sexual tension, and gay love can be found in the third volume of Snotgirl. WONDERLIFE recommends Snotgirl to people who are interested in fashion, mystery, and love stories.
