You opened your eyes with difficulty as you contemplated the idea of going back to sleep. A part of you wanted to ditch today because it was the last day of school before Christmas holidays but the other part of you also wanted to go because it was the last day...

A simple 'ding' coming from your phone resonated in your room and you had no choice but to stop this fight against sleep.

You took a look at the screen with drowsy eyes only to find a text from your best friend saying 'i hope you're coming today and not ditching bc its the last day

This made you smile internally and you finally decided to get up from your bed after wasting almost 10 minutes between sleepness and awakeness.

You made it to the stop just in time as the bus just arrived and you mentally thanked the universe for not ruining this friday (which is often the worse day of your week along with monday)

You let out a sigh and took a sit in the first empty seat you could find. Thankfully no one decided to sit next to you today.

Putting on your headphones you let your mind wander along the music but a weird feeling engulfed you. It felt like you had forgotten something...

You quickly checked your bag to verify if you forgot your pencil case, notebook or lunch but no, everything seemed fine.

Except eating breakfast what could you possibly forget? You had no idea and just decided to shrug it off as one of those random feelings you can't explain.

After a good 20 minutes ride you arrived at your high-school and walked through the gate, looking for your best friend.

"Y/n!" Your head snapped to the other side and you finally saw her, leaning against the wall and waving at you.

As you walked closer to her you could see her eyeing you weirdly. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion "What?"

She stifled a laugh "Nothing" she answered with the fakest and most sarcastic smile you've ever seen on her which made you roll your eyes.

"Whatever. We have an hour before classes start, what do you want to do ?"

"Let's go to the library, i didn't do my science homework !" She dramatically said as she grasped your wrist and started to drag you along with her.

As you both are making your way to the library, you hear your name being called from behind you. You stop in your tracks, recognizing the owner of the voice. You turn around, trying your best to keep your composure. Before you was none other than your classmate but also longtime crush, Park Gunwook and his dear friend Kim Gyuvin.

They were both dressed in red

Wait.

You look between them and your laughing bestfriend who was also wearing a red top and that's when it hit you.

Today is the last day before Christmas holidays and your whole class agreed on wearing something red, except you didn't.

That's what you forgot this morning.

Your eyes widened as everything started to make sense

"Why didn't you show up in red Y/n ? Don't you have anything red ? Not even a lipstick??" Gyuvin whined half-jokingly, half-annoyed.

Your lips formed an awkward smile at his whining

"I completely forgot it was today ! I knew i was forgetting something this morning..."

you tried your best to justify yourself but the pout on Gyuvin's face only became more prominent as you spoke.

You looked at Gunwook who still hasn't said anything about your choice of outfit (which was literally a white pair of jeans and a black sweater, nothing close to red even in the slightest)

"Am I the only who forgot in the class ?" You asked panicked at the idea of being the one to mess this whole thing up.

Gyuvin simply nodded at your question which caused your eyes to almost jump out of their sockets.

You turned to your bestfriend and grabbed her shoulders. "You have to have something red you can give me for the day. A red ribbon or something!"

The amused look that was resting on her face from the situation quickly vanished away as she looked into your desperate eyes and realized that she didn't have a solution to your problem

You immediately understood her expression

"No.. you better be kidding me ! You always have spare clothes with you and the only time i need it, you don't ?!" You dramatically ask, hoping that she was just messing with you.

"I swear i d-"

"Y/n"

Ah yes, you almost forgot that the pair was still here watching you desperately shake your friend's shoulders.

You looked back to Gunwook, mentally cursing yourself for making a scene in front of him.

"I can give you my hoodie if you want"

"Huh" that was not supposed to be said out loud... "I mean ! You won't be fitting the theme anymore, i don't want-"

"It's okay I have a red shirt underneath it" he smiled

Fuck, you need to find something else to decline.

"But you'll be cold-"

You cut yourself as he started to take off his hoodie as if you didn't just reject his offer and that's when you realize that you can't do anything to change Park Gunwook's mind, the most stubborn man you've ever known.

He quickly put his messy hair back to it's original styled way before handing you his hoodie which you obviously refused again.

"No no its fine Gunwook i don't need it plus you'll get cold-"

"Don't worry about me" he grabbed your arm and hung the hoodie on it, fully aware that you wouldn't accept it if he didn't take action.

"Uh- Are you sure ??"

"Absolutely" he nodded, giving you the sweetest smile

"Well..Thank you"

He sent you another smile in response before your bestfriend hurried you to go to the library for her science homework.

You both bid farewell to the other two before parting ways

"And you better wear it Y/n ! Don't ruin the class spirit !" Gyuvin yelled and you could hear Gunwook hushing him with a "that's enough" which made you laugh.

Today is not that bad after all.

The last bell rang signaling the end of school but also the beginning of holidays.

Today was... something.

Yes Gunwook gave you his sweater (which means you spent the whole day with his scent lingering on you) but this action had consequences : girls.

Did I mention how Gunwook is extremely good looking and charming and, well, extremely popular among girls ?

Well you wearing his sweater made a lot of noise. Some girls were envious, other jealous and of course a lot of people thought you guys were dating.

Needless to say you were flustered the whole day, mostly when Gunwook sent you all-knowing looks and small smiles from time to time.

You were happy but you also felt sorry for Gunwook. I mean, you don't think that his name being associated to yours would be a good thing for his reputation...

You walked around the school, frantically looking for Gunwook but you couldn't find him anywhere. Did he leave already ? How were you supposed to give him back his hoodie ?

In the distance you spotted one of his friends, a mutual friend, and thought he might know where Gunwook is.

"Ricky !"

"Y/n, Hi!" He warmly smiled

"Hi um do you perhaps know where Gunwook is ? Did he leave already ?"

Ricky smirked at your question and you know he was up to something mischievous

"Why are you looking for him?" He asked, his smirk expending

You deadpaned and showed him the hoodie you were wearing

"I just need to give this back to him, so do you know where he is ?"

He let out a laugh before going back to his serious self, "When i saw him, he told me he needed to check his locker"

You sighed in relief "Thank you Ricky, have a merry Christmas !" And you left before even hearing his answer.

You made your way to the locker area, by now the school was almost empty so you really wished he was still here.

As if the heavens heard your prayers, you saw him standing by his locker.

"Thank god" you sighed out

You quickened your pace until you reached him, startling him in the process

"Gosh Y/n you scared me" he laughed, his hand flying to his heart as a response to fear.

"Sorry" you laughed

You started to take off his hoodie, something you should have done at least 15 minutes ago but you honestly didn't want to take it off.

A hand reached to pull it back down and you looked at him confused

"Keep it"

"What?" You let out

"I said keep it"

"What why ? Have you not heard all these rumors spreading around-"

"But i kinda like the way they sound"

If it was possible your jaw would literally be on the floor right now.

What is going on?

Gunwook only smirked at your reaction

"What do you mean?" You tried your best to sound normal but the blush on your cheeks betrayed you

He messed your hair and laughed

"I'm taking you out on a date soon, let's make the rumors become reality" and with that he walked away and left you standing there, processing everything that just happened in a span of three minutes.

And it all started with a red sweater.

gunwook x gn!reader, genre : enemies to potential something, neutral but kind of fluff, warning : use of the word die once, wc : 1k>

« this can't happen. » you say defeatistly, letting your bag fall to the floor and staring at the room's only double bed. why the bus driver had to decide to stop for the night, letting you run around in the downpour turning into a flood to this shabby little hotel. only to discover that the hotel has fewer rooms available than expected, and on top of that, you end up sharing a room with the one person you can't stand.

and obviously, this room has only one bed.

not wanting to deal with your bad temper, your teachers quickly slipped away to their respective rooms, locking their doors, leaving you soaked to the bone, staring at the bed in front of you.

« there is no way i'm getting in a bed with you. » you declared, pointing a finger at the mattress, your gaze pivoting towards gunwook, who rolled his eyes and sighed. the boy didn't care about your reaction, adjusting the strap of his bag on his shoulder as he walked around you, infiltrating the bathroom, « you're welcome to the floor. »

with a fake, provocative smile, he finally slammed the door of bathroom, locking it, only for you to hear the shower running a few minutes later. a long sigh left your lips as you decided to leave the room to find something to munch on until you can warm up with a nice hot shower. wandering around the motel, you finally came across a vending machine, taking the time to observe what it was offering. after a few moments of reflection, you simply took a packet of bear jellies and a can of coke, before dragging your feet back to your hotel room.

opening the door, you came face to face with gunwook, who had just come out of the shower room. as he wiped his hair with his towel, you placed your purchases on the bedside table before grabbing your bag to take his place. there's no feeling more satisfying than throwing off your wet clothes for a hot shower — which you did without further ado.

after long minutes of enjoying the warmth, you put on your pyjamas and made your way to the main bedroom. unsurprisingly, gunwook was on the bed, scrolling through his phone, completely ignoring you. you didn't wait long before sitting down at the end of the bed, looking around you — there was really nothing to do. on top of that, it probably didn't have a heater because of the way the hairs on your arms stood up from the cold. « woah, it's really cold. » you whispered, pulling your legs up to your chest.

until something hits you square in the back.

ready to turn around and howl at him like a ferocious beast, your fingers came into contact with the object he had thrown at you : a sweatshirt. probably his sweatshirt. frowning, gunwook gestured to you to put it on silently, just then returning to his own business on his phone. without bothering to thank him verbally, you slipped it on without further ado, enjoying the softness and warmth of the fabric against your skin.

not mentioning the fact that his scent on it appealed to your nostrils.

swivel for crawling on the mattress to get under the blanket, your gaze landed on him, attracting his attention. lying down as far away from him as possible, you put on a falsely threatening face before speaking : « touch me and die. »

a scoff leave his lips, probably due to the nerve you showed, when he had just sacrificed the warmth of his sweatshirt for you. paying no further attention to him, you turned your back on him and closed your eyes, praying that sleep would come to you as soon as possible.

which obviously didn't happen.

a long sigh left your lips as you didn't dare turn over in bed, pulling as hard as you could on the blanket to cover your frozen body. which drew yet another long annoyed sigh from the boy next to you. moving slightly to stare at the dark ceiling, you nibbled your lower lip as you pondered. should you talk? perhaps the best idea for you both is to have as few altercations as possible, but it was going to be a long night if you kept getting cold like that.

so you decided to talk, « you're not sleeping? » you asked, trying not to turn your gaze to gunwook, but simply glancing out of the corner of your eye, « nope. »

his voice seemed to fade into a sigh, though his answer was short. « why? » you continued, wrapping your body a little more tightly in the warmth of the blanket. « don't want you to stab me the second i close my eyes. » he declared in an amused tone, which gave way to a small smile at the corner of your lips, as you rolled your eyes. so you decided to look in his direction, just for a few seconds, without thinking that your pupils would be planted in his.

« i won't. » you finally whispered, trying to ignore the cute smile that had just appeared on his lips when you said those words. the moonlight passing through the thin curtains of the motel room illuminated his face, which you noticed had just softened.

suddenly, gunwook's hand came out of the blanket and slipped around your waist, drawing your body closer to his. you looked at him incredulously, unsure of how to react — but the warmth of his hand against your back made you want to snuggle up to him. « you're cold right? » he said in a whisper, pulling you completely against him, and in an instant your body felt warm again. nodding slightly and muttering an inaudible reply, you pulled yourself up against him, keeping your arms against your chest. finding a comfortable position, you ignored the acceleration of your heartbeat as you closed your eyes, praying that the sandman would pass quickly to put you to sleep.

« this never happened? » you say softly, camouflaging yourself a little more against him, seeking the slightest ounce of warmth from his body. « deal. » he replied, tightening his arms around you, placing his cheek against the top of your head while closing his eyes, ready to fall from exhaustion.

maybe in the end, this night wasn't going to be the worst of all.

a month full of love and a life full of pure happiness. it’s the type of love that you could’ve ever dreamed of having.

still in the heat of the wedding feels, you found yourself looking around in the box of wedding trinkets you kept: a flower from your bouquet, wedding invitation, written letters from the guests, ribbons you and gunwook wore, film cameras that were undeveloped, and a vlog camera.

you couldn’t recall using vlog camera so you took it, put the sd card into your laptop and browsed through its contents.

it was filled with pictures of gunwook, some were very candid. some had pictures of the jellies, most were of gyuvin’s up close pictures.

sure, they were silly but it was full of love. it showed how much the boys supported gunwook on his big day. it showed how much gunwook meant to them.

scrolling through the pictures, you were filled with giggles and love for them. not until you landed on the last file, a 30 minute video.

clicking it open, gunwook popped up on the screen, bedhead in view.

he held the camera up, showing his bare face.

“it’s the big day, and i feel like pissing and shitting my pants.” he started off, laughing at himself while he walked around the room, vlogging himself.

“am i nervous? yes, very. but am i excited? yes, this is the most excited i felt in years — not including getting engaged, of course.”

“see you in a few, wifey—“ gunwook said, flushing red before laughing, “i can’t say it, bye!” he said, covering the lens with his palm.

this made you laugh, ‘til now, gunwook still felt shy to call you “wifey” even as a joke.

a new view popped up on the screen, now it was gunwook in the makeup chair, getting touched up.

the boys were behind him, some being restless like he was, some were in their usual state, some were excited.

“sir park gunwook, how do you feel at the current moment?” a voice said from behind the camera, recognizing it to be hanbin’s.

“i still feeling crapping myself—“ gunwook said before getting cut off, a chorus of “ew” and “disgusting” interrupting him.

gunwook laughed, “but really, i’m excited. i’m excited to be standing on top of the aisle, waiting for y/n to come.”

a series of “oohhh” and cooing came, teasing gunwook as he blushed. “yah!” he laughed.

“okay okay, enough! bye bear!” gunwook said as he giggled, everyone still cooing at him before he covered the lens once more.

next shot, gunwook was already in his suit, situated in front of the mirror.

he showed everything in his suit, including his key-points and the little things he got sewed in the suit, telling the camera it’s hidden meaning.

“i’m really nervous but i’m happy. i’m happy to be here, bear. i want to see you already.” gunwook pouted before telling you more about what he felt.

these were the things he never told you about, things that his heart felt on the big day.

you felt yourself tear up, hearing gunwook’s genuine words and feelings.

“woooh! i better stop before i start crying!” gunwook said, ending his ment.

this made you laugh tearily, wiping away your tears.

“i love you, y/n yoon. i love you way more than you know it.” gunwook said, turning the camera around to make a kissy face at the lens, video getting cut off.

soon, another video started again. it’s view was the floor, you thought it was a blooper so you kept watching.

“you love her that much, huh?” gunwook’s brother’s voice asked from behind the camera, you heard hum answer him.

“very. way too much, actually. but she deserves every single bit of love that i have for her, and i know i’ll keep loving her that way.” gunwook smoothly says, making his brother sniffle.

“yah, stop that. i’ll cry.” his brother says while gunwook laughed, catching two pair of feet near each other, clearly the two brothers were embracing each other.

“you’re growing up well, wook-ah.” his brother said before they both teased each other, video getting cut off.

gunwook suddenly popped up, the camera was set up in the garden where you both had your first look. he sat on the bench, dressed in cream.

he licked his lips, feeling nervous. “last vlog before we get married— it feels weird to say that knowing i’ll be married to the love of my life later on.” gunwook said, his hands clasped together as he spoke.

“i think i want this to be full of things that i want you to know and remember.”

“i will always be full of love, i’ll always be enamored with the love you give me. and i don’t think i’ll ever unlove you, not in this lifetime that is full of love.”

“but if i do in my other lifetimes, that gunwook is a fool.” gunwook laughed, knocking his head.

“but really, i will always bathe in the bask of the love you have for me. i choose to be yours and i choose to protect this love of ours.”

“i can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you, bear. i love you forever.” gunwook says, blowing the camera a kiss.

and then the video cuts to a candid picture of you both during your first look. gunwook had his mouth gaped while you smiled prettily, eyes teary. then another picture flashed, it was your photoshoot pictures.

all so full of love, just like how you and gunwook were filled with each other’s love.

surprisingly puts effort into his whistling hoping it would impress you, only to find out it's a trick from you to kiss him.

he'd be so taken aback by you kissing him when he was whistling. once he came back to realization, he remarked, "and I thought I was the corny one in this relationship"

literally looks at you with love in his eyes.

would say "you're so obsessed with me." with a subtle smirk.

kept giggling like a fangirl afterwards.

he would get so flustered and put his hands over his mouth. (yk his signature pose whenever he thinks someone is flirting w him)

"oh my god, you flirt!" he says while covering his face and giggling.

he'd start doing a storytime about how he found out he could whistle during his childhood.

after you kiss him, the gears finally turn inside his head.

"so that's why you wanted me to actually whistle. I didn't know my lover was this slick..." he'd wink playfully as he nudged you.

"I just felt like it! plus we might even encounter an evil ratatouille call at this time." he says, with a dumb smile correlating with his dumb answer.

"so why did you label it as a study date exactly?"

"because we're going to be studying the cause and effects that happen at 3 am!" he says eagerly.

you facepalm, already tired of this man child you call your boyfriend.

"let me get this straight, you, called me at 3am asking me to come for a study date and that 'studying' is figuring out what happens at 3am?" even uttering that out yourself makes you want to facepalm until your face has a permanent facepalm mark.

after hearing you say that, he immediately straightens his back and puts his hand near his eyebrows making a salute sign,

you start reading the books you brought, when you thought it would actually be a real study date, especially since your exams are coming.
