this shouldn’t even be a hot take but, passing is *very* important to many trans people, to many of us passing is the most important thing to us and not being able to is an unbearable source of pain and anguish and outright hell for us

and there is no shame in it, not everyone wants to be obviously trans and clocky and not everyone can live that kind of life

I personally will never socially transition or live as a woman unless i can afford facial feminisation surgery one day which i never will, so personally ill just live as a closeted manmoder forever

and no, saying “fuck passing”, “passing doesn’t matter” etc does not take away the pain, it’s just very dismissive and insulting of others struggles

For anyone who feels alone in same situation;

It IS okay to detransition if you can’t pass and just personally can’t stand living with it, you don’t “owe” anyone a life of non passing social transition or misery if you can’t look how you want and don’t want it

If you do choose to detransition because you can’t pass and don’t want to be a non passing trans person, it IS okay and you ARE valid

Not everyone wants to just be trans, some of us passing is deeply important and not passing IS just too much, and giving up is okay if you deem it better for you, nobody is owed anything
