Description: Enormous, dragon-like creatures armed with multiple feelers. Each of these appendages moves as if independent of the colubrim, and features a prey-seeking mouth at the end. Much of their time is spent hibernating beneath rivers of magma, making the beasts a rare sight indeed. They're easy to spot when active, however, as they quickly turn their voracious appetites on every organism in the vicinity. With a lifespan of close to a millennium, and activity periods that are irregular at best, colubrims rarely end up reproducing more than once a century, resulting in relatively low numbers for the species.

Description: Though flightless, these avians make their homes at high elevations, preying on fish and crustaceans that they suck into their trumpet-like mouths. Relatively intelligent creatures, some saltats are known to also display a penchant for combat. During mating season, males blow rainbow bubbles as a way to attract a mate. They then perform a frenzied dance of courtship as the bubbles drift. Failure to impress will dash all prospects of mating, spurring young males to improve themselves by learning at the feet of senior saltats. The relationship is mutually beneficial, with disciples blowing bubbles to help their tutors' own romantic endeavors. Even after gaining nests of their own, they continue to look after their aging masters.

I love how Maurice Chaussan's intro makes him seem like a sketchy lying scumbag politician and then for the rest of the game he's just A Normal Guy like what were you guys being mean to him for in that first cutscene

She's back!
Compared to some of the problems other people have had remaking their old Crosses, mine was relatively painless. The only thing I'm not sure about is the shade of her hair, but that's just because it looks like its almost glowing in the menus. That seems to be a problem everyone is having, though.
Of course, it's going to take a while until I can get her trademark outfits back.
...Both of them.

Do I want them to explain every dangling plot thread on Mira? (Who really were the Samaarians? Why is there a Telethia on Mira? Why did Tatsu call humans 'Homs' at the very end of the game? Will Professor B ever make it Back to the Future™?) No.
Do I need them to place X's world and story into whatever continuity the other three games have been cramming themselves into? Also no, but that's probably what we're going to get.
Do I want them to address the stinger at the very end of the (original) story? Yes.
Other than that they can leave it as open as they want.
With what we've seen of the bonus story content for XDE, I actually started wondering about something, so:
#xenoblade chronicles x#they can leave us on another twist for all i care#just please tell me WHAT IT IS ABOUT THIS PLANET

Builds I Want To Focus on in XCX:DE Instead of Just Doing the Longsword/Dual Guns Thing Again
Or at least the ones I'm considering. I don't think I would be able to focus on all of them at once during the story, so I'll probably stick to just one of these.
Javelin/Gatling Gun - This was my first attempt at kitbashing a build together. It uses Raijin to not die, and focuses on inflicting Shock (and Elec Res Down) to do damage thanks to Conductive Strike. The only Gatling Gun arts used are Bullet Storm to make the Overdrive counter go up and Cool Off for TP Generation, so I guess it could be replaced with something else that either inflicts Shock or takes advantage of Shock, like Psycho Launchers or the Multigun, but thanks to Knock 'n Shock and Trident Buster I've never had any problems inflicting Shock so I don't think that'd be necessary. The big issue is that some of the better options for this build like Bullet Twister and Maximum Voltage are gated behind some very late missions so I don't know how good it'd be during the story.
Photon Saber/Assault Rifle - Another reflect build, this time for beam instead of electric. Apparently the story mode bad guys are very beam-heavy so having some sort of resistance or mitigation is useful (and beam is the only element that doesn't have a buff skill to raise its resistance), so that's a point for this build's favor. Another point is that all the arts i have in mind are gotten during normal leveling and most of the Assault Rifle arts are acquired very early too; I prefer Takedown Shot over Furious Blast and that's the only late art. The one problem is this build is almost entirely single target skills other than Galactic Cataclysm, which is a TP skill.
Shield/Raygun - A Topple build that relies on Topple Topper and Subterfuge to make sure the Topples from Wild Down and Gravity Blast actually land. It can also be a support build with Mindstorm and Clarity Ray, but it has the same problem that the Javelin/Gatling build has where those are two arts from Affinity Missions you get super late in the game. This is a build that I probably won't actually use during the story, but maybe during Squad Missions.
Those are all the ones I have something concrete for. I'd also like to try and do something, anything with the Multigun. I've heard it had an unused stronger version in the game files, so maybe that will show up in the definitive edition.
#xenoblade chronicles x#xcx#maybe i'll also make a build where the ranged weapon is the focus for a change#but i doubt it

In Super Mario RPG, there is a mysterious character behind the northeastern wall of the house closest to Peach's castle in the Mushroom Kingdom, who remains unseen due to being hidden by the game's isometric view. Mario can talk to the character, but never see who exactly it is.
If the game (in both SNES and Switch versions) is modified to remove the wall, it is revealed that there is no visible NPC behind the wall, since the player is never intended to be able to see it. However, in the Switch version, there is also a part of the regular gameplay that reveals there is no one behind the wall.
In the cutscene of Peach joining the party, the wall in question is briefly shown, with the location of the mystery NPC being clearly visible and containing nothing (circled in the screenshot). This oversight is due to the location of the cutscene also being behind the same wall in the original version, but which does not include a view of the hiding spot since the cutscene uses the same view as regular gameplay.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Heart-to-Heart Completion Roundup Highlights:
Nagi having pizza and beer (and soba) with the founders of Sakuraba Industries
Hope unironically saying she would pray for me when I suggested NLA needed a more exciting nightlife
Trying (and failing) to trick Alexa into saying the word 'Skell' because her boss banned her from mentioning them
Bozé getting roped into attending a pizza party by his (mostly xenoform!) congregation of followers
H.B. getting flustered after he was caught petting my dog
#xenoblade chronicles x#xcx#also alexa reminded me about that Black Skell that will probably show up in the new postgame but pff who cares about that#i was surprised how far behind I was on H.B.'s heart to hearts seeing as he's one of my favorite characters#but he was probably in my party so much I never had the chance to do any of them despite maxing out his affinity

MISSION ALL OVER
I wish I could have taken better screenshots of this but unfortunately Shutter U has been taken offline. All the more reason we need the Switch version.
The last thing to take care of was the Telethia, both to clear the segment on the map and to get the better ending of the one quest involving it, but most of the other cleanup I had to do was getting everyone's affinity up and then run around and do all the remaining heart-to-hearts.
If they really do fix the Diskbombs like I hope/fear they do the next time I do this I'm going to need another way to deal with the Decoys. Either figure out which Skell Arts do the most hits to chew through it the fastest or actually build up a whole team of Skells to wear it down. But that's a problem for four months from now. For now, I'm done.

#xenoblade chronicles x#xcx#i say i'm done like i'm not already thinking of seeing how far i can get through the game again with my javelin/gatling build

Bozé in the game: A fractured old man holding onto his hatred and bigotry after his students were killed by the Ganglion (including having one of them executed right in front of him), who is eventually able to let that bigotry go with your help and achieve the spirituality he seeks.
Bozé in the fandom:
#xenoblade chronicles x#boze lowes#he's not even the worst racist in the game!#that title goes to Alex because he's not just a racist he's an inconsistent racist
